Well RedBull would have to be incompetent to not have discussed such a thing before the race. We will never know though, will we? The complication was Vettels strategy differed to Mark s which tends to indicate they didnt have their act together. There is more than enough history there for neither of the two of them to help each other. The difference between Malaysia and Silverstone was that in Silverstone neither of them had backed off under team orders. In Malaysia Webber had. Anyway, the team order was not unsporting - it was sensible.

R32 Gtr Oil Temp High Suggestions?
djr81 replied to Purchase's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Be putting my money on a faulty sensor. I would recommend checking the oil temp. If it is anywhere near that number you will know when you pull the dipstick. -
The dog reference is about him agreeing to one thing pre race (Multi 21 or 12 if he had been leading) and then reneging on the agreement when it no longer suited him. Not unlike what Carlos Reutemann famously (or infamously) did to Alan Jones. It is not a German thing, hell Stefan Bellof was damn near a god in many peoples eyes. It is just that people dont like arrogance (Which they choose to ignore in drivers they like, as all good sports are arrogant - youd have to be to believe you are the best in the world) But more than that people dont like duplicity and dont enjoy the self serving justifications put up afterwards. Anyway I dont remember many drivers being applauded for reneging on agreements. Senna got smashed for bailing out of Toleman to use just one example. Tactics and cheating arent the same thing. Never have been, never will be.

Cheers Harry. That is probably why I had trouble picking which part of the fatherland his accent was from. Somewhere west of Alsace Lorraine? No he isnt in F1 but he is a giant in the rally world. And, arguably, a huge loss to F1. Shame he didnt follow up on the TR thing.

Well I could check all sorts of things. But I will never connect to that pile of *#%$ simply because it stops working when I leave the house, making it utterly useless. Also it will not be connected near home any time soon because I dont live in a marginal western Sydney electorate. Anyway the speed arguments are rubbish because most plans appear to be limited to slow speeds anyway. How long does 5 gig take to download at 25MB/sec - about 3 and a half minutes? Then you are back to near on dial up speeds or downloading stuff at 3 am. The point is the NBN is great if you are a big user and downloads dozens or hundreds of GB a month. But for everyone else (Which is the overwhelming majority of people) it is a gold plated solution to a problem that doesnt exist.
-
Well if anyone wants an example of how a sportsman should conduct himself have a look at Sebastian Loeb. Absolutely dominant and universally respected. Makes Vettel look like the dog he is.

This is what you get from Telstra when you ask about their NBN plans- $80 a MONTH, 12MBps and it gets slowed after 5 Gig. This is the fundamental disconnection - no one is talking about how much it will cost to connect to this overblown pile of &$%^. Plans and ProductsThe NBN can give you superfast downloads, but that’s just the beginning. Add the right devices and gadgets from Telstra and there’s so much more you can do. Yes it is completely accurate. If you ignore the fact that Porsche themselves have denied it. http://www.smh.com.au/sport/motorsport/porsche-denies-mark-webber-deal-20130415-2hvns.html Or not denied it. http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/porsche-not-denying-webber-rumours/ But either way he may or may not drive for them. Depending on who you believe.

They are both the same. Pricks with the best equipment. Most world champions are exactly that.* Please note: This in no way excuses Vettool from being a pole smoking *%$#. Or Schumacher for that matter.

Best Places To Look / Ask About Track Only Cars
djr81 replied to Adz2332's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Seriously there is so much work in a track car build when started from scratch that basing it on someone elses work is a REALLY GOOD IDEA. -
Ah fk Williams have gone back to sucking balls. Sigh.

Best Places To Look / Ask About Track Only Cars
djr81 replied to Adz2332's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Why bother importing one? There are enough GTR's sitting around in Aus that are so cheap you can just buy and deregister them. If you want a built up race car - what are you using it for? Sprints, IPRA, tarmac rallies? The best race car is one already built for the purpose you want to use it for. -
Actually, at the risk of getting flamed - why would you whinge about getting defected for an atmo bov? You know they are defectable. You know they add precisely nothing to the performance of the car and only exist to attract attention. So clearly, your bov has fulfilled the purpose that you bought it for. Job done.
-
Stupidly so. By way of an example. http://www.summitracing.com/search/brand/g-force-racing/part-type/driving-suits
-
Actually cheap suits can be bought, um, cheaply. Mostly from America.
-
They didn't show them on the tellie because there wasn't time in the 30 hours of cross promotional shite channel 10 put to air. Useless fkrs.
-
Wuh, what? No one has the pace of the Red Bull's. It is going to be boring as fk. Also why didnt channel 10 show the Can Am during the Melbourne GP. W@nkers.
-
Give him a break. Its not like his old man is bung full of charisma. Or that the rest of the field isnt the son of someone famous/rich.
-
Well he did hurt the team interests - in the following ways. By pushing the car hard (At a time when Webber had backed off under instruction) he stressed his engine and gearbox - both of which have more races to go. So he increases the likelihood of a grid penalty later on in the season. By pushing hard he risked having Webber respond and the both of them losing out to Mercedes because of spent tyres. He risked running into Webber. He has caused/reinforced deep divisions in the team and diminished the team managers authority. He has caused longer term damage to Red Bull's commercial interest because it now shows they can neither control their lead driver nor respect their other driver. Plus he has reinforced to the world that he is a complete dick and who is going to buy Red Bull merch with his name on it?

Note the diffrence. Also note that the piston/bore clearance on the 26 piston is 0.1mm, not what is shown onthe data sheet, http://www.aclperformance.com.au/NissanRB26DETTForgedPistons.htm http://www.aclperformance.com.au/NissanRB25DETForgedPistons.htm
-
Actually the nice folk at ACL make a piston that uses a 1.5mm upper and middle ring. They recommend 4.5 thou per inch of bore for end gap - works out to be 15.25 thou for a stock bore RB26.
-
Yes still relevant - but obviously not as much as last year. The COTF is, fundamentally, a different beast to setup & drive than last years cars. One result will be that the co-driver/internationals (if they are going to the Gold Coast this year) wont suck as much in comparison to the regulars as the cars are A: Easier to drive B: More like other categories in the way they drive.
-
When could you ever watch Group A racing and say there is my car? The Sierra was never sold here. The R31 GTSR - that was never sold here. The R32 GTR that sold all of 100 units (if that) most of which slunk out the door after Group A was over. The M3 that was never sold here? The various iterations of Group A Commodore - the last of which, the VN, they stopped making because they couldn't shift the 500 units necessary for homolgation? The endless array of Corollas - most of which you couldnt get here in the body shape let alone the engines etc. And that is before you get to the homolgated 180's, Starions, Maserati BiTurbos, Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, Supra's etc etc etc that no one really cared about. The biggest (popularist) criticism of Group A at the time was that the cars didnt reflect what the public could buy. If you want to see common or garden variety cars you should go and watch IPRA and/or production car rounds. Which no one does.
-
No there isnt.

Well I use 3.5 degrees. But it depends on your spring rates and sway bars. Obviously the harder they are the less camber you need. Wroo tends to like neg camber due to the corners going on for ever. You take tyre temps on the night? How did you find the Yokies under brakes with that camber on it?
