Why do you want new OEM rear tops etc? Just get some ISC tops similar to whaterver you have at the front. The stock tops dont work well with the 65mm spring. Are the springs all 200mm long because a 5kg/mm 8" front sprng is a little short on travel. I probably missed it but what brand of top did you buy? Rubber or bearing type?

Aside from bulk horsepower the thing you need with a GTR is to try and kill the understeer. If you look at the Nismo spring rates for the 33's etc the rears are HARDER than the fronts - but not the 32's. The major difference being the AWD system reaction. Obviously there is a trade off with traction but this can be handled (In part atleast) with an ATTESSA controller. Other than that run loads of neg camber on the front and as little as you can on the rear. Same for sway bars. Fat as on the back and little on the front. It is mostly about getting the front to grip so you can get on the power. Oh and QR is bumpy as all hell so make sure you have good travel and dont go ape shit with spring rates as it will rattle the fillings out of your teeth.

If this helps it is a drawing of an adaptor bracket for an F40 to R33 GTR rotor (324mm from memory). If you have the offset of the 355 rotor (What Troy was talking about) it is easy enough to figure out the measurements for the bracketry required. The one I ended up with is pretty elaborate and most are much more straight forward. Anyway the trick is to find someone who will machine it for you at a reasonable price. bracket.PDF

Trannie is the same as far as I know. Depends on how many horsepowers you want as to whether the upgrades are worthwhile. Stocker cant be tuned to go pretty hard. Also there was a recent run of limited edition utes with upgrades to interior etc. May be worth looking for one of them as an option. The poverty pack xr6 interior isnt brilliant but you may be able to get a lux pack. Gives you leather, 19" rims, satnav and doof doof. Or just get leather if you want.

I went from the Sumitomo package to the F40. Not a massive difference in the performance but feel and longevity were heaps better. The cooler you can keep pads/rotors the cheaper they are to run. The bigger they are the cooler they run. There are a bunch of cheapo China options if you want to go in that direction.

You say that like being a broke, over weight and balding engineer is a bad thing.

Yeah he drove brilliantly then ruined it all by blubbing like a school girl. Some HTFU is needed. Much prefer Alonso's my personal life is none of your fkn business approach to it all.

The other way around. The R34 uses 14mm (I think) bolts to the 32's 12mm's. So the holes in the adaptors will be for 14mm hence too big. You can either modify the hub, sleeve the adaptor or make new ones. Well a bigger pad gets a little less temperature and cools a little better. There is not alot in it but everything helps.

Well for what it is worth I am running the F40's on a GTR with the DS2500 pads. They work pretty well, but I did also get the Brembo rears and a V spec master cylinder to go with the callipers. 343 is an option. Project Mu are another brand of rotor than can be bought in that size. Basically you can run any rotor you like as long as the adalptor lines with the "offset" on the hat/rotor. They may not all be the same on the aftermarket rotors, so be aware. Also the bolt size will be wrong on the adaptors as they are off a 34 so you will need to get some more made up - not too hard to do. The good thing about hte F40 is: The pad area is larger than the GTR Brembo calliper. The piston area is the same. The DS2500 pad is not custom. It is the same part number as used on the AU Falcons. So bias is not changed on a 324 rotor from standard and only slightly on a 343.

Yep cracker of a race. Good to see Tool A: fk up, B: lose. But then this. Too much Homo, too much. In an emotional interview, triumphant but heartbroken racing driver Lewis Hamilton on Sunday dedicated his victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix to his former girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger. After describing how he prayed and found himself in a "mellow place" before the race that freed his mind to focus on winning, he admitted that he had been thinking only of Scherzinger, the former Pussycat Doll who he dated for five years. "Winning is just the greatest, of course," said Hamilton, whose victory was his first since leaving McLaren to race for Mercedes this year and the 22nd of his career. "But I feel like...the thought on my mind through the whole race was of someone who is special to me and I wanted to dedicate it to her..." Asked if that person was Scherzinger, he nodded.

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift

This thread needs more beards lecturing Simon about safety. Bottom line: Unless blowby is under control oil issues wont be. -

Rings turned up - pretty quick turn around. I didnt go the gapless second ring but that option is available. If anyone wants Pacific Engine Parts contact. Now need to wait for the pistons. -
It should be pointed out that Joe Saward is a pharken idiot who's opinion is not worth a cold dog turd.

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
djr81 replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
This is basically it. The things I would add are as follows: Good oil control starts with good blowby control. If you have alot of gas there is no way the oil will return from the head of your motor. I am going with a 1.25 oil restrictor on my next motor. Having an oil return from the catch can is excellent but a one way valve is a really good idea. Make sure the size of the holes in the sump are reasonable - tempted to say atleast -12 but maybe -10 is enough. Not massively convinced by the Mines covers. -

R32 Gtr Caliper Bolts Specs?
djr81 replied to R32GOJIRA's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Pitch is 1.25 front and rear. Bolts on an R34 are a size bigger than the 32's so may be adding to your confusion. I dont remember them as 10mm - thought they were 12 as per the fronts. As for length - get a machine bolt ie one threaded all the way along its length and cut it to suit. You probably wont get the exact length you need anyway. You havent mentioned grade either - 4.6 or 8.8? Cant help you with the thickness of the flanges, sorry. -
65Mm Pistons - Ie Stock Bore For An New Rb26 Block
djr81 replied to djr81's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
No I realised I had coughed up on the order number and received some random rings. My fault. Most annoyed about the time that was wasted. I figured I would go for the more known of the two options. Basically, having thought about what Trevor (and others) said about the oil ring thickness and the function of the second ring I think there is merit in the argument. I just need confimation of the depths (waiting on an email) to then flick to the pistons mob(s). Had an exhaust manifold gasket start to leak on the weekend so it may as well come out anyway. Just got to hustle a bit now to get it organised. -
65Mm Pistons - Ie Stock Bore For An New Rb26 Block
djr81 replied to djr81's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well after a hopeless weekend at Wanneroo I had a rethink and ordered some other rings from Pacific Engine Parts in Melbourne. The bloke who runs it, Trevor McGregor is really good value. Anyway the ring pack is 1.2, 1.5 and 4.0mm. Has anyone used Specialist Piston Services, also in Melbourne? http://www.specialpistonservices.com/ -
Get ron Tauranac out of retirement - he will make then design an engine that can actually be installed.

Done well on landscape shots etc it allow the photo to be more like what you see with your eye as the final image has the high dynamic range that the name suggests. So the dark bits arent so dark and the light bits arent overexposed. But you can select too much range and this ends up giving the photo a sort of artificial/chrome look to them. And you see that everywhere - in car mags, on websites. It is just overdone and everywhere and to be honest I am over it. Eg http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008/03/10/35-fantastic-hdr-pictures/ Not fantastic IMHO. I just wish the grown up photographers would use it less.
