  1. Hmm just need to transfer Webbers luck onto ze German and things will be sweet. Mind you that needed to be done four years ago. Anyway damn fine drive by Kimi & teh Hulk. Not so much by Di Resta or Grosjean. You have to wonder about F1 though. Dan in the pre race interview talking about losing weight for next year and Hulkenberg struggling to get a drive on account of being an impossibly heavy 70kg. FFS it isnt a horse race. Why is it so hard to make a regulation so that someone larger than a jockey can compete?
  2. The thing about how the world works these days is as soon as someone invents something someone else produces a reproduction at a cheaper price. http://www.gktech.com/index.php/r32-r33-r34-gtr-roll-center-adjusters.html
  3. If it is just for the road I would reckon something about 5kg/mm is of the right order. Yes alot of sh!t was written by people who dont know what they were talking about. The %'s are right but the rest is nonsense. You need to differentiate between what happens when you are off or on the throttle. Off throttle the things understeer. On power they respond to however you have set up the 4WD system.
  4. Yes on GTR's the Nissan/Nismo stuff is softer at the front than the rear other than the R32 Nismo which is the other way around. Most of the other aftermarket gear isnt because they usually dont much bother with tailoring their gear to individual cars or realise that most people drive the things in a straight line anyway where you do want softer rears. Nismo S tune: 5300S-RSR45 Nissan - Skyline GT-R - BNR34 - F:6.0 R:6.7 It is that way to help reduce understeer. Ofcourse depending on your objective/tyres/camber/sway bar/attessa/power output you may choose differently. But generally GTR's are, handling wise, horrible understeering shtboxes and you end up using every trick in the book to try and make the nose heavy buckets turn.
  5. The Ferraris looked awful in practice. All corner exit oversteer and not even Fernando could drag that shit around well enough. Red bull and MB on the other hand looked well sorted.
  6. Much the same response as I get then. Hoping Williams can bolt together something that actually works next year. Cant remember a case in recent history when a team went backwards so quickly in the space of a season. Well other than McLaren maybe. Bottas brings in coin and the team think well of him. Not sure they can say that of Massa. Hell they gave Barichello the arse because of Sennas dollars so why sign Massa?
  7. Contact with McLaren. To do what? Organise a tour of the museum? Admittedly now they have signed up a Mexican sponsor than can dump Perez but why would you replace him with the only bloke in the whole field who is less capable????
  8. You have to beat your team mate. Perez is forgotten because Button is quicker than him. And Button is past his best so it doesnt reflect well on Perez. You are also assuming Sauber have the funds to develop a decent car next year. Which is a courageous assumption. If he stays with Sauber and the car is a dog then what hope will he have?
  9. Vanes are the ones on the inside that pump air. They should sweep backwards. Grooves are on the outside and remove pad dust etc. It doesnt matter which way they go. You orientate the rotor for the vanes, not the grooves. As an aside the Project Mu rotors dont have proper vanes anyway so this stuff doesnt matter very much.
  10. You should have atleast 6mm clearance. Otherwise stones (on the road)/balled up rubber (On the track) will get stuck between the rim and the calliper and you will either gouge the rim (stones) or catch the robber on fire (err, rubber).
  11. So then it should be a 1 year contract at Lotus plus options.
  12. Problem being if you wait you get overlooked. There will presumably be an opening at McLaren when they get sick of Perez being hopeless but I reckon Hulk should be worried about Sauber dumping his arse for a pay driver. Happened to him at Williams and I reckon it could happen again. He would have been alot better off staying with Force India. But for now he should sign for Lotus. It will be quicker than next years Sauber and he will only have Grojean to beat.
  13. No one likes the safety bloke. Bottom line is get some skills. Sparky skills are pretty handy to have, mostly instrument as electrical alone doesnt cut it so much anymore. Dual ticket is better.
  14. That describes Sauber.
  15. Yeah, buy buy Massa. No chance of him doing an Irvine and signing for shtloads more than he is worth.
  16. Well if Kimi bolts I hope faceless investment banking corporation has deep enough pockets to fund Lotus properly so we dont get a repeat of the last time they lost a brilliant, charismatic F1 driver.
  17. Gerhard Berger was the last to do that? Have to think about others, probably be stupidly obvious. And so it is. Mario Andretti did a famous cameo in 82 after Villeneuve and Pironi destroyed themselves/each other. Also Clay Regazzoni.
  18. Rumour mill is grinding pretty hard that Kimi has signed for Team Cheater to partner Alonso.
  19. The difference between 1970/80's Ferraris and kit cars is not as much as people would imagine. Space frame chassis with fibreglass panelling. Tick. Awful driving position. Tick. Horrible reliability. Tick. Hardly anyone drives them hard. Tick. Etc etc etc...
  20. Well the Nismo mounts are really just standard mounts with relocated holes for the arm to bolt into. So if you want to do what half the race cars have on them and relocate the holes there isnt much stopping you from butchering a stock bracket. The LCA is a different story, obviously. Someone has a set of LCA's & Nismo castor rods for $500. From memory the LCA gives you +5mm. Either Bri73y or stevena were selling them. Anyway you go fast enough so stop scaring the WASCC beards.
  21. Or just replace the Nissan inner upper arm mount with a Nismo one and the problem goes away.
  22. Is a Boxer. Think of it as the model before the Testa Rossa. Basically the same car just less crap although it isnt a patch on the Daytona. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_Berlinetta_Boxer
  23. Youre dreaming. With the skinny track width they looked rubbish.
  24. Speaking of which. Though not F1 related. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/AC-Cobra-2010/SSE-AD-2326254/?Cr=20&sdmvc=1 Maybe on old Reynard Indycar would be better value.
  25. But that was Ferrari in its proper state - too busy fighting each other to win anything. But yes F1 cars looked alot better before they narrowed the track width. A 640, an FW14 (I prefer an FW13B, but anyway), an MP 4/5, even the Lotus 107 (in Castrol colours) and the early Jordans. But the Tyrrell 020 was a peach. Anyway they should bring back titanium skid plates now so people can get their Type 98T on in qualifying.
