  1. Should be about right. NFI what pcd's Emos run so just check it is 4.5 inches. Also that the load capacity of the rim is right & finally that they clear the rotor/calliper you use. Cant imagine it is a problem for any of these things. In the olden days a 17*9+22 rim was the default option for aftermarket rims sizes. Then the fitment thing came along....
  2. The rim selection is alot about brake & tyre selection. You will struggle to get anything larger than a 345mm rotor under a 17" rim, although some with TE37's say it is fine. As for tyres a 255 width is good for an R32 R. Understand that R comps are often wider than their nominal size indicates. That fits ups nice to a 9" rim. 9.5" is you must. A 17" R comp (good ones not the bottom of the barrel stuff that gets mentioned on here alot) is about $100 cheaper per corner than an equivalent 18. As for offset a +22 on the rear is good although you can use more on the front (smaller number, wider track eg +15) due to the amount of -ve camber you need to run on the things. Other factors are weight & cooling. Dont buy cheap rims they fail in both those areas. FWIW I use 17*9+22 with a 255/40/17 tyre. The rear guard lips need to be rolled and the front could use a fatter offset but Rays dont make the rims in the offset I want anymore. Bottom line: If you can afford the coin for the tyres get the 18's. 9" width is enough. Dont listen to the hektic fitment types. What is fully sik in their world doesnt make much sense when you want some actual lap speed.
  3. Your Ford Falcon can be bought with a 5 litre, 32V V8. The reason they wnt to keep the current motors is the teams have a huge amount of money tied up in them. Yes it would be easier for parity with all the same motors - then people would bitch that all the cars are the same. But that is the choice you have really - parity arguments or whingers that say the cars are all the same.
  4. Depending on which Project Mu rotor you have the number of cooling vanes will vary. For some reason the two peice rotors do not have continuous vanes in them but some (all?) of the one piece do. Obviously the more cast iron you have the heavier the things are going to be. The upside is the more mass and the more vanes the cooler the rotor will run.
  5. Actually he won more than that - gold medals in both the men’s road time trial event and the individual time trial, before collecting a silver medal for his part in the mixed relay race.
  6. Does it really matter? He wasnt concentrating on what he was doing and threw away a win because of it. That he stopped waving for however many seconds before hand is neither here nor there. Typically, he went on to blame everyone else.
  7. Former F1 driver Allessandro Zanardi has won a Paralympic gold medal at Brands Hatch. The Italian, who lost both legs in a CART accident 11 years ago, is entered into several hand cycling events. Wednesday’s success came in the Men’s Individual H 4 Time Trial, which took place across 16 kilometres (10 miles), instantly sparking a series of congratulatory messages from various names in the motorsport world. Now 45, Zanardi clinched the top prize with a winning time of 24 minutes and 50.22 seconds, edging out Norbert Mosandl of Germany by just under half a minute. The bronze medal was taken by American Oscar Sanchez. "There was great emotion," he told ITV News. "Very, very happy but in a way, you know, this moment brings also a little bit of sadness because this was the horizon towards what I set my life for the past two years. Had it not been as exciting, as great in every day of training, I wouldn't have got here. "What I've learnt in life is that the results you get are a simple consequence of the effort you put into it." Dropped by Williams after a disappointing campaign in 1999, Zanardi returned to CART. His accident at Germany’s Lausitzring, which made worldwide headlines, saw him t-boned by Alex Tagliani after spinning across the racing line from the pit lane exit.
  8. Dont need history books I remember seeing it at the time. The amount of stupid sht Mansell did was beyond anything even Andrea De Cesaris could manage. The fk up at Monaco when, in the wet, he drove onto the road markings and then into the wall, depriving Team Lotus of a crucial victory at a crucial time for the team was just one of many. Then he blamed the team/car/track/marshalls/other drivers.. There was the inspired brilliance of the win he threw away in Japan for Ferrari when, with a massive lead, he used full noise to launch the 640 (?) out of the pitlane and destroyed its fragile gearbox. Or the brilliant effort in Canada where, again with a huge lead on the last or second last lap he let the revs in his Williams die to the extent he stalled the motor. He was too busy waving to the crowd. On a good day (mostly Saturday) he was very good inded. But he had no mechanical sympathy and wasn't as quick as Senna. He always wanted to win going flat out as opposed to using his head and looking after the car or banking championship points when he couldn't win. Anyway, that to one side - how bloody brilliant was Sandro Zanardi at the Paralympics?
  9. It has always had pay drivers and always been driven by money. Go have a look at Mansell record at Lotus. he sucked much worse than Gorsjean (who doesnt at all as it happens). Then go have a look at the Monaco win Mansell threw away for Lotus. Makes Pasta look like a beginner. Now you are just being silly. Mansell never could and never did carry a car. He could make the most of a good one (eg FW14) but he was beaten by almost every team mate he ever had. The exception was Patrese who did not get on with the active ride on the Williams.
  10. And clearly has never heard of a bloke called Nigel Mansell.
  11. Why would you expect to have fade prior to boiling the fluid? Fade is a pad issue not a fluid issue. The pad can be perfectly happy whilst the fluid is boiling its nuts off. Bleed them again - you may well find the stuff comes out black. Usually does for me anyway. Oh and get some ducted air onto the rotor/calliper etc.
  12. I had the Mines baffles fitted so couldnt run a top mount as the two dont go together. Who you getting your engine done by? Also you should enter the next Wroo Speed Event Sprint.
  13. You sure you are not boiling your brake fluid?
  14. Cheers for the offer. As of last time out at Wroo I think I have it sorted. The thing managed a 55.0 short circuit on tyres so old they had sparks coming off them. The solution is to vent the blow by via a path that doesnt go through the back of the head. I think the most of the rest of it is bollocks - eg the Mines head baffles, tiny (<1.0mm) oil restrictors. Ofcourse venting the blowby is really just a bandaid, albeit a common one. It shouldnt happen in the first place but a relatively small amount of blowby appears to cause big probems in the RB's. There are no end of RB26 out there who have this issue but it isnt a problem as they are only driven on roads where it doesnt show up. There is another discussion to be had about ring thickness, tension and selection - eg what forged pistons can I run and use Nissan rings?
  15. Questions 1. Do the rears just bolt straight on? Does the R32 handbrake set-up still work fine inside R34 rotor? Do you use the R32 GT-R brake lines or R34 brake lines? You need to bash the backing plates about to make everything fit. I removed them entirely and metal reflective taped over the upper link bush as it is close to the rotor. Also I used the callipers from a 33 and found I had to get some hoses made up as the 33 lines were too short. 2. On the front, do R32 GT-R brake lines bolt straight up? If so will order some R32 GT-R braided lines. Not sure I had some F40 callipers on the front. 3. Can you get away with using R32 GT-R master cylinder? Or do you HAVE to change to R34 GT-R? You can get an R32 master cylinder out of an V spec with a larger bore.
  16. See attached. They were drawn ages ago and I think the trainee draftie did them so cant guarantee dimensions. Not sure what grade aluminium they are either. But bump steer and roll centres are not related.
  17. Probably a good thing. My god we sucked.
  18. As already stated it wont make a bit of difference to your acceleration - it is another 40lbs you are adding to the weight of the car - not a big figure given the thing will weigh over 3000lbs to start with. What it will do is degrade the cars ride and its handling. The heavier the tyre/rim/brake/suspension arm set (refered to as unsprung weight) the harder the suspension has to work to keep the tyre on the road. So your 30lb wheel (which is thereabouts of 10lbs heavier than a good 17" rim) will have an effect.

  20. The next time you get pulled over - guessing it wont be long if it has been 7 times in 3 days - and if the coppers are half reasonable (& only if they are) explain to them what has been going on and ASK them (nicely) why you are getting pulled over all the time. If they are letting you go anyway and you havent been carrying on there is a reasonable chance they will explain it to you. You may then have half a chance of sorting it out.
  21. Yeah the best races in F1 are those that avoid the fakery.
  22. They used to be common as muck a few years back. I think Mobil put them out. Anyway just type Mclaren f1 poster & maybe the MP number (MP4/13?) into a search engine and you should get a bunch of options. But if it was for home I would try & get soemthing a bit less common. Try here: http://www.sutton-images.com/searchresult.asp?search=mp4%2F13
