Guys, I got sent this from CAMS. Incase anyone from here uses these they have asked me to let SAU people know. > CONFEDERATION OF AUSTRALIAN MOTOR SPORT (CAMS) > MEDIA RELEASE > 24 June 2005 > > For Immediate Release > > URGENT NOTICE - SAFETY HARNESS FAILURE - FIA D-203/T98 > > CAMS has been notified of a safety harness failure. This > failure occurred during a collision. The harness is a > 6-point type and was manufactured by "Taiwan Racing Products > Company Ltd". It has the FIA homologation number D-203/T98. > The FIA have been notified. > > At issue is the adjuster buckle of the lap belt which on the > information received to date appears to have been assembled > incorrectly on some harnesses with this homologation. This > harness is apparently supplied under a number of brand names, > and it is understood that there are several suppliers in > Australia that sell this harness with their own brand name. > > It has been confirmed that a number of similar unsold > harnesses in stock have also been incorrectly assembled, > although not all. It is possible that these same harnesses > have been supplied to other retailers in other countries. > > CAMS is issuing this notice asking all competition vehicle > owners in Australia to inspect their harnesses. The > homologation number appears on a label attached to each strap > of the harness. If harnesses with the above homologation > number are fitted, CAMS advises that they not be used until > they have been returned to the point of sale for inspection. > > It is possible that further action may be taken in regard to > these harnesses so please check the CAMS website regularly.

We will do this year - we have our very own "groupies" following us and will take good footage of the whole event. And not just of the SAU boys but of as much as possible. The links above were from our day at DECA on the weekend and we have about 3hrs of footage from there. We should have tripple that from Dutton! lol

And Short Wang was named after Chris.

Because we were in Shep - didn't you see the bling in Shep? Neon sales are sky rocketing. Its Chaps all over again. So it was an honary title given our location.
-
was called that because it was based upon the pattern of the one done at Essondon airport carpark in the Dutton Rally.

Ok - a couple of different views of what "should" be event 7 and 10 Me: http://www.adept-connections.com/videos/DE...lueR34GTR_1.wmv Blaise http://www.adept-connections.com/videos/DE...aiseSTiRA_5.wmv And this is the layout of what was at Essondon last year and I expect to be so again (26&27). Its going to look a lot different but thats basically the shape of the event. Blaise http://www.adept-connections.com/videos/DE...aiseSTiRA_4.wmv

Dutton footage is traditionally crap. You'd think that maybe they would say show the fastest runs on each of the events or at least show a COUPLE of full runs of events so people can see what it's all about. But no they like to just show 3s clips of cars moving doing possibly ANYTHING. The only people who know exactly what was happening is the person in the car. But general viewers have no idea. Anyways.... As for a wet event - obviously it's Winter so it is possible. However Shepparton is not a wet area and it's usually dry. HOWEVER - its damn damn damn cold. It was 2deg when we started on Saturday. I think in one way this does benifit cars 1-39 because they start the Friday at Shep airport which as Simmo can attest to has lose stones everywhere and never has any grip. At DECA the skidpan is like polished concrete and we definitely found there was more grip as the day warmed up than when it was first thing in the morning. If it is wet then the skidpan will be tough. We wet it for some fun at the end of the day and there was NO grip. My car would spin at the slightest of movement. One guy even said he was trying to drive straight and the car spun on him still. But thats only 1 (well technically 2) events. I don't see too many others being that effected by rain. Winton is ok as a track in the wet and as mentioned things like Shep airport, and the other events at DECA have a lot of lose stones so they dont become that different in wet. We had a breif shower last year when we were at the airport and I don't think there was any noticable difference in times. But either way it will be fun. And Russ - I will see if I can post up some footage we took on the weekend from the DECA skidpan doing the event that was run in 04 so you get an idea of the layout. Also we did a 2nd one which was a copy of the pattern done on the last day at Essondon.

For what it's worth I actually for the one with the reverse my favortie one of the day. Basically 4 handbrake turns, a reverse flick and lots of getting the power down with a huge stop - all whilst racing someone else. I thought it was tops. I actually found the stop - go the hardest part on the car but we had to have that from CAMS restrictions. Anyways - thanks for the feedback. It seems a pretty even spread of enjoyment which means people enjoyed the whole day.

Ok - NOW I'm pumped. Ran at DECA on the weekend. Did a lot of skidpan practise and the car is feeling great. Set-up the motokhana the same as for Dutton 04 (Event 07 and 10) Best times on the weekend for all the 05 Dutton Boys competing (we had 3 runs each at it) Me - 40.1 Chris (My co-driver) - 39.6 Blaise (STi RA) - 40.8 Tony (GTR) - 45.7 Eddie (GTR) - 42.3 Best time from Dutton 04 - 42.1 (That pesky EVO 3) Can't be sure obviously that everything was 100% the same but feeling good right now that we will have a decent package. Just stocking up now with some Porsche and EVO stickers with big crosses on them so we can put them on the car for every "kill" during the event.

Guys, Just wanting a bit of feedback regarding the events held at DECA on the weekend. Due to the overwhelming response to run another event and whilst it's still fresh in everyone's mind we'd just like to know what you enjoyed most on the day so any future events can be planned accordingly. Can vote for more than one option.
-
Since there's been such a huge request for another event I just thought I'd check what events people enjoyed the most on the day so if we run another one we know what people liked most and can set it up accordingly.

The people doing the timing were being "un-helpfull" as far as putting times down next to the right numbers (taking into account some numbers were missing due to withdrawals) So there has been some confusion around numbers 36-40. Especially didnt help when the cars in these numbers didnt run in all the events. The lastest results are as accurate as I can make them. (There was a different one up for about 5 mins)
