  1. Ok - final results. Unfortunately the GT-R can apparently lose. Congrats to Blaise for a fine performance all day long. But pretty close in the end with 3 cars covered by 3.4s after 9 events.
  2. Soon. Me and Chris started doing this on Sat night but at this stage we had both had a few and there are mistakes everywhere. What I can tell you is all you RWD boys need to sell up and buy a 350Z cause he's kicked ass. Unfortunately Pete one of the found mistakes has just dropped you from 2nd in RWD class down to 4th but I'm still not through double checking it all. I'm nearly done and then I'll post it up.
  3. Ok guys, We are going to look at a Video, BBQ and Beer night shortly cause we still have most of the free beer we brought up to Shep left over. It seems we were fairly well filled with Margarita's on Sat night.
  4. Thanks for all the people that came up and all of the positive feedback. I think pretty much everyone that came enjoyed themsleves and already I've been inundated with requests to run another one again soon. We'll certainly add everything up and look into it as it's days like we had on Saturday which is one of the reasons we formed the club in the first place. Personally I had a ball. There is no more fun than just letting your car rip as hard as it can and then wacking the hanbrake on and bolting back the other way. Especially when there's another car 40m away next to you trying to do it all faster than you are. And I'm sure everyone will agree that even watching this awesome. Special mentions to Blaise for being consistantly a gun all day. Had some awesome runs with you during the day mate. Also to Pete for being the expert at the reverse flick for the day. Also to Dave, Marky and Birsby for just ripping it up all day long entertaining style. And finally a huge thanks to Taco Bills for their support on Saturday night. We have lots of pics and video footage for the next club meeting as well as all the trohey's etc. Results still have to be totalled and Chris or I will get them posted up as soon as we can. Lastly but most importantly a big thanks must go out to everyone the helped make the event run so smooth. This includes all volunteers, and especially Wayne and Barry from the WRX Club.
  5. On the above - everyone will be given a copy of the event schedule on sign-in in the morning. However - the copies handed out are black and white (Photo-copied). You can see see them fine but if you want a color copy then please bring your own. and see you all tonight / in the morning.

    DECA Entires.

West - all sorted mate. Got the faxes this morning. I have Hung's membership card in his file for the day so he can do CAMS in the morning no probs. He just needs a credit card number.
  7. I could quite possibly be drunk by then! :uh-huh:
  8. That's right mate. I'm the president. I have the power. And I'm not afraid to abuse it! :sadam: Your all lucky I even invited you all along to join me. I was slightly tempted to use the club money to hire the venue out for some solo practise. :innocent: But all this talking it up and practise is going to be for naught when I run through the stop gate in the 2nd event like I did last year to kill off any hopes of doing well! lol. Then it will be time to do what I excelled in last years event - drinking. And with the SAU Cheer-squad up there this year thats going to be an easy thing to do!
  9. Yeah Simmo Dutton is going to be awesome this year. As perviously mentioned we have a bit of a group going this year. I presume you will be in the top 40 (numbers wise) so we probably won't see you much over the weekend but the cars coming along in our group should be sweet. Got word the Ice Supra is joining us now too to add to our little gang. (575rwkw's!) But you still haven't answered - has the EVO changed at all since last year or is it basically the same car? It was stupid fast last year - especically on that final day when you must have been the only bloke with-out a hangover cause you slaughtered everyone. lol Personally my car will have more power (up to 330 from 250 last year), better suspension, better brakes, modified attessa system and of coarse I will have 12 months more experience at driving the car. Will all mean Jack if I bust the car again of coarse. But we have another "GTR Support Veichle" and this one is a lot better than the back-up one from last year. lol. All the guys coming with me (2 GTR's, 1 Supra and 1 STi RA) are currently all slightly faster than me at the track but none of them have done anything other than circuit before so it's going to be fun. Basically all of us run Sandown between 1.20-1.22 if that means anything. But despite all that talk I know we are still going to struggle to catch you boys and the Fullers. But god damn we are going to have some fun trying. Either way I think the Porsche boys are going to be even more up-set this year than usual. I have set up a day at DECA this weekend and will basically run a bunch of the events from last year so will get the stop watch out and see what times we run compared to the times run last year at Dutton. Then I'll have a better feel for how close we can get to you! I'll also see if they have replaced the control box for the traffic lights yet!
  10. yeah no worries Marcus - I will try to remember to look at what Ive got when I get home. Or ring me about 7ish and I will be home and can tell you then.
  11. Yeah I have some from around then Marcus. From back when I was looking for my car and selling my old car.

Yeah no worries West. I've marked both you and Hung down as coming.
  14. The Jonty V XDrift showdown will be a highlight of the day I'm sure. Thats if any of us can see it through the tyre smoke! LOL
  15. OMG- Danny is ALIVE!
  16. Jarrod - not as yet no. Unless he posted it in which case Adz will hopefully bring it tonight.
  17. A guy at a WRX Club event a couple of years back went through his rear window when he slammed the car into the pit wall at Phillip Island coming onto the straight after he got his rear wheel on the grass and came around. Thats why they are so funny about PI. But the WRX Club have had 3 cars in the last 12 months on their roof. All 3 have been good experienced drivers. None of them have been hurt but in all 3 circumstances the drivers have been wearing a harness and one of them had a cage. The last one at Sandown - the white rex - judging by the way the car was wrecked I'd have been worried for the guy if he was just wearing a seat-belt. The car was squashed inwards and without a harness his head "may" have gone out the side window whilst in a rolling car. Lucky we don't have to worry about the maybe's in this instance cause a harness was being used. But again - all of the BIG accidents I know of have come from good drivers driving fast cars to the limit. Some of these accidents may not be drivers faults - maybe a small drop of oil that wasnt there the lap before - we don't know. The point is - the faster your car can go and the closer to the limit you find yourself pushing the more safety considerations should be taken into account. Driving my GTR around the track is a lot more dangerous and risky than driving the rex. There is plenty of feedback and give in the rex and the limitations in the rex are so much greater that the car can't be pushed anywhere near as hard. Ant - your car is still pretty simple but YOU are starting to get more experience and should be getting quicker each time. A $300 harness may be a wise investement and help keep the Mrs a little happier.
  18. Generally on these "weekend" trips a stubby holder is another invaluable thing to pack.

  20. Just park it on top of the other one!
  21. I bet you could count on 1 hand how many people in Oz own 2 Lada's. And all of them are as intellegent as each other.
  22. It sure is Phill. The morning will have groups split into 2 - half at the skidpan and half at the short track. There will be 2 full skidpan events and we'll also run the short track in both directions (with "special additions" to the track). Then mid morning the groups will swap. After lunch everyone will be on the skidpan as the skidpan will be running 2 identical events at once - so basically people will be racing against each other. So you should be doing an event once every 20min or so through-out the day.
  23. Ok - I hope you've all sobered up now. Anyways - we had the meeting with the CAMS officials on Saturday morning for the event just to iron out the edges. These guys will be there overviewing the event and are great guys and want us to have fun as long as no-one is stupid. But that will be further defined on the day. Just some quick points for everyone - hements etc will only be required to be worn on the short track covered in the morning. Any time on the skidpan no helmets will be required. Also - passengers will be allowed in all events (max 1). Again passengers on the short track will need a helemt but not on the skidpan. Finally - if anyone is bringing their better halfs along - at the lunch break any ladies that want to have a quick run on the skidpan (with partners permission to use their car) then they will be given a FREE go (no CAMS or anything will be required for this).

Also - if there was anyone wanting to come up to spectate or for the socal side of it was could use a few people to help out with marshalling / time keeping etc. Anyone interested in doing this please PM me or better still come to the Club night tomorrow night.
