  2. Ok - if you want to see exactly how it happened in real time clicky on the link! http://users.net2000.com.au/~mrwhite/carna...own_carnage.mov
  3. The WRX Club guys are meeting at STi Docklands at 5:00pm on Friday with the intention of departing at 5:30pm. John who is organising this cruise said he was more than happy for any SAU guys to cruise up with them. This maybe a little early for some people but given it's a good 2.5 - 3hr drive you wouldnt want to leave a whole lot later.
  4. Yep we had one then as well!
  5. Guys, Just a reminder that the next SAU Vic Club night is coming up next Tuesday June 21st. These nights are used for the members and committee to talk about whats happening behind the scenes, to discus upcoming events and provide an excellent opportunity for you the SAU Vic members to discus your own issues and ideas. Don't forget this is YOUR club and what happens is in YOUR hands Time - 8:00pm (Dinner from 7:00) Date - Tuesday 21st of June 2005 Location - Bell's Hotel, 157 Moray St, South Melbourne (Cnr Moray St & Coventry St Melways Ref - 57, G1) Note - We will be meeting in the conferenceentertainment room - this area is family friendly and set aside for us. There is plenty of seating (tables and chairs) and meals for all. We'll also have a special guest speaker. David Clerk Business Development Manager Philips Automotive Lighting Systems As well as telling us about the benefits of HID lighting, he has a full HID upgrade kit for the '33 GTSt and a special deal for this will be available for club members. I'll also have some copies of the event schedule for DECA as well for people to look over. Also - anyone that is planning on coming up to Shep to help out for the day will need to come along so we can explain whats needed for the day.
  6. Current list of SAU entries I have recieved. Andrew Richmond Chris Thomson Peter Blyth Phillip Karski Tom Giordano Adam Webb Nick Edlin Shan Moorthy Gareth Rowell Craig Moor Ben Lippa Denham Melder Geoff Williams Jarrod Moore Anthony Nowlan Ryan Bell Nigel Beale And there are now 16 spots left.
  7. Jarrod I got yours. Anthony duely noted. Ryan - good stuff. We need to get your driving skills increased so you can give Ant a run at the track days. You got the closest anyone had go so far this year at Sandown!
  8. Hey Simmo - why don't you jump in one of the Mopro Lotus's for Dutton Vic and leave that silly EVO at home??? It seems you need the practise in driving them. (BTW - well done with all the drives this year! Insanely jealous!) So is the EVO still stock except for a chip, exhaust and some handling mods? LOL. I'm hoping to get through all 3 days this time. And the car is a lot more sorted than it was 12 months ago, and I can steer a little better now I hope. So hopefully we'll get a little closer to you this time. But I still think you should bring the Lotus!
  9. You can see both set's of lines here and you can pretty much bet you both did exactly the same thing.
  10. Gareth - here's a special picture for you. In some senses you may be slightly lucky. Here's the lines from the black rex and you can see where he's hit. Now at Sandown if you hit a wall you will be billed for repairs to the wall because they can't have any structural damage. Now from memory they cost is about $800 per panel to repair. And those bills are the last thing you need after a non insured accident.

    Sandown !

I can see some merrit in what you say there mate. And I'm well on the way. I've already got fat and half grown the beard. But I see myself more as an Austin Martin man - maybe a Vantage - or even a TVR, then I can punt around slowly in the corners but then use the cars HP to make it near impossible to get past me on the straights. Especially at Winton. Oh what fun it would be to not worry about anyone else on the track with me cause I have so much money that I can afford this twaty but expensive car.

    Sandown !

Marcus - you need to get with the program. Running with the Maserati Club is so 2004.

    Sandown !

I got beaten by 2 RWD cars! I was going slow! Man given a decent steerer the car is easily capable of a 1.20. I mean Ponozza was only 0.3s behind me and he's running stock turb's, suspension and brakes. Him in my car would have beaten Frank I'm pretty sure. My true skill's will be highlighted when Aaron finally gets his car sorted fully. I can currently only beat people by having spent more money than them. LOL But right now Aaron and Chris are still behind me and thats all that matters. I'll have to retire once they get sorted or else learn to drive

    Sandown !

It has an RB26DETT in a car that weighs about 400kg's less than a GTR.

    Sandown !

I used closer to 1/3 of a tank per session.

    Sandown !

Ok - just going through the results for the club championship and a special mention has to go to Wayne for breaking the club record with 18 timed laps (not including warm-up / cool down or the practise session laps). Previous best was 15 laps. Certainly beats Jacks 1 timed lap.
  17. Yeah the Mrs told me I was snoring on the couch when my phone finally rang so she decided to let me sleep. Truthfully I was buggered on Sunday night. The brakes now are perfect. Initially quite shuddery but it looks like it just needed some serious bedding. This is despite me doing about 30 stops from about 160-40 on Saturday. I took it out for a spin yesterday just to ensure the shudder hadn't returned now everything is cold again but it's still perfect. My biggest issue now is my suspension. I'm finding the car is bouncing heaps under heavy braking. Was really noticeable into turn 1 - and to a degree into turn 4 also (where you turned around Brisby). Same at Winton at Turn 8. You can really fell the car skip which causes the brakes to lock a little. Have to get it sorted. Not sure if it's just the springs that need doing or if the HA's just aren't good enough. But in fairness in that session you were behind me I was also experimenting a little as well. I was testing out just how deep I could go with the new brakes and missed the corners a couple of times. After you spun off I punch out a lap that was over 3s quicker than when you were behind me.

    Sandown !

Drew (jorg) - really nice to meet you as well. And a huge Kudos to your Mrs for giving it a go as well. Can you tell us about your car? Pretty stock still?
  20. Brisby your the man. Anyways - update my Sandown time to 1.22.2. Change in tyres, brakes and turb's dropped 3.5s off my PB. Very happy.
  21. Gareth I got to see you in the wall and was shattered for you mate. I'm just super glad your ok. Thats a fast spot and could have been a whole lot worse. And honestly after seeing you burried in there I was never able to go flat out through there for the rest of the day. Hope you get it all sorted as painless as possible mate.

    Sandown !

Joel apparently took 1500 pictures. I'm sure he'll let us know what he's got!
  23. On a day of crazy fast times and cars your effort was execptional Brisby. Well done. I still can't believe I ran a 1.22.2 and that it was only good enough for the 7th fastest time of the day. That's a seriously quick group of cars out there. But anyways I'm exhausted and I need to go find a beer.
  24. Russell - side question. Did they sound test your car in Dutton NSW? I saw that was done in QLD and I'm stuffed if they do it in Vic! LOL
