  2. According to Paulr33's site they are exactly the same, wiring and all... so it should just plug in http://paulr33.skylinesaustralia.com/diagr...ter-wiring.html
  3. Hicas in the 32 runs through the power steering pump, so make sure you PS resevoir is up to max. then check that your steering wheel is on straight if its aftermarket
  4. 38mm taller in the block
  5. ahhh that explains it well.. from my google search i sort of got that gist, but i was thinking that it might have included some kind of actuator that only opened once the system went to 14psi which activated the vacuum line to the atmo BOV.
  6. will be a fuse, a single bulb out will not affect all the other lights in the dash unit
  7. i really like this idea some more info on the mittyvac would be helpful. i was planning to run a plumb back and a atmo simultaneously, but this idea sounds alot better
  8. Dave, if you still need access to a lathe, i have one at home if you wanna try some things bring your own stock though

  10. keep the spring setup as close to the target as possible to reduce the work the EBC needs to do. but you need to know what your minimum would be, as you might know 14psi spring means that will be the minimum boost you can run
  11. looks like it has a HOTDOG centre muffler
  12. get someone to do a noise test on it, if its less than 90Db then get them to fill out a proof form and send it into the EPA

    Ductwork

thanks Kevin, that look a treat and will be doing something similar to my car when the new motor and IC go in. have you any shots with the bar attached to the car? and regarding the seal between the IC and radiator - how did you run the mounting to give an idea to the rest of us
  14. i'll be interested to see what info you get john
  15. block the intake pipe to the turbo off with a rubber unit- this creates a sealed unit. in the centre of that end seal, you put a nozzle to insert compressed air, using soapy water spray areas prone to leak, the air escaping causes bubbles other way is to spray a combustable solution - rp7/wd40/carbie cleaner around, if the revs rise at that time, then there is a leak there.
  16. sounds likea fueling issue, try starting it after spraying rp7 or carbie cleaner into the throttle, if its starts again then dies as normal, then you can assume its fuel so try a new fule filter first, prim the car with the fuel feed hose disconnected and flowing into a bucket or sumnthing, crank it with it all connected and confirm fuel returning to the tank - in regards to teh alarm, only way you could bypass would be to completely remove it from the loom
  17. tried spacing the headlight out by inserting a washer behind the 2 bolts towards the centre of the car ??
  18. Found an article on the net for the creation and processes of bending steel tubing to multiple shapes that can be done by hand, thought i would share it around since i know this will come in handy for myself at some point. How to Bend Tubing and Pipe by Hand http://www.metalgeek.com/archives/2005/05/01/000047.php
  19. if all else fails, try another ECU my car didnt idle at all for a year, swapped out to the powerFC and worked straight up..

    Welding 101

Definately agree i bought a small MIG unit for $575 which uses small canisters of gas, this is what i learnt on and now moving on with a TIG. as with most things, the preparation of the metal and quality of the original fit will determine the quality and neatness of the resulting weld.

A good read if you are about to learn any of the types of welding, i have read through all of them most recentyl TIG welding pdfs as im in the process of learning the TIG Please post any links or info regarding making welding easier and neater. Chris
