  1. Different platform and spring rates but the springs and valving in my MCA Street Performance are on point. The Ultimates are going to be sweet.
  2. $580 Do it. Or... May swap for old Japanese motorcycle. Paint and plastics are not important. Rego is not important, BUT (notice the big "but"), you must be the last registered owner. Engine size not important. A rolling frame with a engine will do, I'm going to pull it apart anyway.
  3. I was going for this look, I think I pulled it off well......... LOL....Pulled it off well.........
  4. How's this puppy? Mandrel bends, VTA, manually adjustable, hell, even a spare port for a wide band
  5. No real rush, plus I believe this is a Euro forum now, apparently, or not, maybe......
  6. $585 Bargain Buy my stuff so I can buy other stuff
  7. From my experience with the man I formed the opinion that if more people were like Nick the world would be a better place. Hopefully he is doing mad skids wherever he is ? :burnrubber: See you around brother
  8. Be cheaper and quicker to just get a new bonnet. Google says around $1-1.5k If you had the skills to do it then maybe fix it yourself. If not, it looks like quite a fews hours work, and even then, it's old and will probably crack again. Old fibreglass is rubbish.
  9. Stereotyping much Sorry...........Bwaaaahhhaa Sorry......
  10. ZEN and the art of motorcycle maintenance. Recommended reading In the book, the narrator describes the "romantic" approach to life of his friend, John Sutherland, who chooses not to learn how to maintain his expensive new motorcycle. John simply hopes for the best with his bike, and when problems do occur he often becomes frustrated and is forced to rely on professional mechanics to repair it. In contrast, the "classical" narrator has an older motorcycle which he is usually able to diagnose and repair himself through the use of rational problem-solving skills. In an example of the classical approach, the narrator explains that one must pay continual attention: when the narrator and his friends came into Miles City, Montana[4] he notices that the "engine idle is loping a little", a possible indication that the fuel/air mixture is too rich. The next day he is thinking of this as he is going through his ritual to adjust the valves on his cycle's engine. During the adjustment, he notes that both spark plugs are black, confirming a rich mixture. He recognizes that the higher elevation is causing the engine to run rich. The narrator rectifies this by installing new jets with the valvesadjusted, and the engine runs well again. With this, the book details two types of personalities: those who are interested mostly in gestalts (romantic viewpoints focused on being "in the moment", and not on rational analysis), and those who seek to know details, understand inner workings, and master mechanics (classic viewpoints with application of rational analysis, vis-a-vis motorcycle maintenance). The Sutherlands represent an exclusively romantic attitude toward the world. The narrator initially appears to prefer the classic approach. It later becomes apparent that he understands both viewpoints and is aiming for the middle ground. He understands that technology, and the "dehumanized world" it carries with it, appears ugly and repulsive to a romantic person. He knows that such persons are determined to shoehorn all of life's experience into the romantic view. Pirsig is capable of seeing the beauty of technology and feels good about mechanical work, where the goal is "to achieve an inner peace of mind". The book demonstrates that motorcycle maintenance may be dull and tedious drudgery or an enjoyable and pleasurable pastime; it all depends on attitude. 13. Don't do failbook. You would be surprised how a little NA 86 goes with about 200hpatw, it ain't no rocket ship, but it definitely isn't a slouch getting around town. About the same as a stock turbo S15, only the 86 handles better. LOL, I had to google ASOS, and my cap bills are as curved as fark. Buy my shit....

  16. I said sell GT and buy GTT You were the one saying to piss money away modifying a NA Skyline. Im a advocate for common sense not stupidity. I dont focus on one brand, I like alot of different brands, just like a SAU club meet or motorsport event, everything turns up, no one cares what you bring, do I like Skylines, hell yeah, would I own another, yes, this one, but Mrs and bank account says no > Lifestyle and mentality, LOL, as you on smack, I'm sure the OP doesn't want to piss money away, even in his current lifestyle and mentality. If he is smart and saves his money instead of pissing it away, he can get his GTT, or GTR, or Golf R, or 135i, or DR30, or...a house. But feel free to tell him to spend his money in whatever way you see fit, that's what I did. That's the beauty of forums. Why listen to me anyway, I'm just an opinionated punter voicing my opinion, just like you. ROCK AND ROLL
  17. I do love the cost estimates for making a silk purse from a p i gs ear, and by silk purse I mean a not very reliable car that will break, be a waste of money, and near impossible to sell, unless you strip it and sell the parts, and then you'll still lose a ton of cash. OP, if you like RWD what you need is a BMW 135i M sport. I went for a spin in a tuned one, epic. Pretty cheap too. Hang on, I was advocating reliability wasn't I. Nevermind Bugger
  18. I see your Nissan drag car and raise you a Toyota track car with a Nissan engine, not a RB though. Plus, please can I has toad lick now.
  19. I would need to drop 50k on the 86 for a reliable 300kw. Cost of car 31k+50k = 81k of 1250+kg of RWD Skids. Whilst fun, financially idiotic. In the end resale would be like 30k, maybe...... I'm not short of cash, but I'm not short of brain cells either. I did the whole waste a ton of money on a Skyline 10 or so years ago. Plus, whilst the RB was a good engine, there's a heap of new stuff that pisses on them now. Hell, in the NA RB Dyno thread in here my engine would be king, sadly my engine is a FA20 not a RB25-26-30. Disclaimer: they do make more torque than my little 2.0ltr. My car weights ALOT less than them at 1250kg, and is faster than them everywhere. I'm happy to put donuts on the line on a Wednesday night at WSID. Mmmmmmmm, donuts
