  1. you would want it to be a fair bit cheaper as you use over 40% more fuel just cruising around
  2. Hey Daisu outerlimits is where i first saw them being used. I think there is some great potential with these cores.......its just going to take some1 handy to take the forst step and try fabbing one up. No trouble with the cops and front mounts!
  3. I was more trying to show the way in which these guys are actually doing their water to air setups. They are using a different kind of core (Laminova) which i think are pretty cool themselves. They have water flowing through the middle and air flowing around them and over fins that are 0.2mm apart....massive surface area. Also they are long and skinny so are able to be intergrated into manifolds themselves. Cheers James
  4. I have seen a setup where the manifold is similar to a skyline and they just make the manifold a little larger to accomodate the laminovas inside which takes up a lot less room. Not much done with them here in aus but there is potential especially after seeing the flow and cooling tetsts.
  5. Not sure if anyone has seen these but a few people on a 4wd forum i use have made some water to air intercoolers using Laminova cores. Hard to explain on here so i will just post up the link to a build up. http://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/...ntercooler.html I have seen others made up that fit into a slightly modified inlet manifold which greatly reduced intake piping. Anyway i thought some on here might like to read. Cheers
  6. Go on outerlimits4x4.com heaps of hilux side steps in the for sale section and plenty of ppl on there who can make them for you.
  7. Hey that might be be in the white series 2!!!! I'm from around there and in sayers road a bit and i think i saw your car the other day near westbourne. JAMES PS: Got done speeding the other night after a tune. Could have lost licence but the copper let me off and only booked me doing 89 in 70km/hr. He didnt even take a second look at the car or under the bonnet. What a champ. Funny thing was is that he is the leading senior constable in the traffic task unit. He wasn't a local though.
  8. Is it hard to start or hard to turn over
  9. Drags have been cancelled for this date due to the track not being finished
  10. Unless you like camping i wouldnt bother sleeping in the back (Done it b4 and very cold). You also have to check if the back folds out flat as my patrol is impossible to sleep in the back! I would suggest going to a nice B&B in Mansfield and then go to mount stirling (Or Buller if u really want to) for a day trip. It will cost you bugger all, has all the snow you need to play in and is a great drive from mansfield. Or stay in melbourne and go to Mt Donna Buang or Lake mountain for the day. Great day trips
  11. I'm only aiming for around 250 for now.
  12. Yes you did.....cant wait to wind it up. Made 210rwkw on nearly 11psi
  13. Another update. After a tune from Dr drift my gt3040 starts making boost around 2200 and hits full boost (10psi) by around 2700rpm. Very nice to drive now!
  14. Got my ECU remapped today by dr drift Hit around 210rwkw (At 11psi) before the airflow meter started to max out so he dropped it down a little to be safe. Hits boost over 1500rpm earlier although i had wastegate actuator issue Cant wait to get injectors and airflow meter!!!!
  15. I was quoted $1650 plus 4 hours to fit and dyno......i'm now thinking of just getting the standard ecu remaped through dr drift.
  16. In the market myself. Have been looking around and can pick up a power fc for around $1200 on here second hand. I have decided to get the new Vipec installed as its only a few hundred $$ more brand new and apparently has some good features.
  17. After all this you still havent changed your thermo?? If it is infact running too cool then your doing a lot of damage to your motor whiles driving it no matter how much money you spend on oil.
  18. I spoke to JPC today and will be going in in a week or 2 to get a Vipec ECU installed and tuned. I dont see the point in paying $1200 for a second hand Power FC when i can get a brand new ECU that seems to be better for $400 more! Is there a downside to the Vipec system? Sounds all good to me.
  19. Your probably more likely to cause hot spots which would increase the chance of detonation.
  20. So is there anywhere in melb where i can go and buy one and get it installed and tuned for my r33? I'm in the market for an ecu and would rather spend a little more on something new than a second hand power fc.
  21. Hello, after a power fc for my r33 gtst. Im in melb but will pay postage. Let me know if you have one for sale and maybe any other bits i might like. Cheers James
  22. Hello, I'm after a power fc for my rb25. I'm in Melb but will pay postage. If your selling one give me a yell. James
  23. Sorry to dig up an old thread but what are people [aying in melbourne? About to buy a Power Fc and get a tune. (in melbs west)
  24. I wouldnt say they were hard to come by where there is usually 3 or 4 for sale on here at any one time.
  25. Hello, i'm after an R34 GTT side mount intercooler. I'm in Mebourne and can arrange pick up. Please PM me or email me if you have one for sale. Cheers James
