  1. HAHAHAhahahah... You are on the money Ryan. I'd rather be stereo typed driving a skyline/WRX/EVO etc. than a commodore
  2. You could get your bonnet painted (colour matched too), so that you still have a carbon fibre bonnet, but looks less conspicuous. I think Carbon fibre bonnets are illegal anyway mainly due to the fact they can splinter when pedestrians hit them (a bit the same like carbon fibre dash boards, when you hit them they don't give the thing you hit them with back!) So I guess it's your choice!
  3. Reading this thread makes me glad i've got my car 100% legal and engineered so I don't have to care if the police pull me over and give me an EPA/canary for something they aren't sure about. Actually scratch that above sentence... After reading this thread I'm glad I'm not driving a skyline, but driving a Datsun. The police only pull you over to tell you they owned one when they were young, or their dad rallied them...
  4. I think I've found my next new business: Selling hollowed out AFM for MAP based systems, OEM style boost controller solenoids. Then make up a latex RB20 cover for your RB26DET Then "dirt in a can" to make those new looking injectors you have just finished fitting, look like the dirty factory ones you just ripped out. Perhaps stick on plastic sheet bonnet to make your carbon fibre bonnet look like a factory one. Finishing off with a Power FC with Nissan logos "Honestly officer, it's the factory engine diagnostic tool, read only..."
  5. Well, you've taken the right step to start off with. Taken all the badges off. You don't need an engineers unless you are doing something major. Boost controller = Defectable Apexi Power FC = defectable Twin Pod Filters = Defectable (mainly due to ignorant cops) BOV = defectable only if it is venting to atmosphere. SO: Hide your boost controller in the cabin somewhere that is not easy to see. Then make sure the solenoid is buried somewhere in the engine bay, or painted black. Just make sure you can't see it. The Apexi is fairly easy to hide, but just make sure you cover it up. The police have no reason to suspect you have aftermarket ECU if everything under the bonnet looks stock. Twin Pod Filters scream "modified". best thing you can do is fold up some plastic sheet, or sheet metal painted black to look like a factory air box and put this over. If you are going to go the trouble, you might as well make a cold air box. (better performance in street traffic too.) Plumb back the BOV DONE!
  6. Ok. I'll wait for Josh to give me the low down.
  7. Are there any spare software licenses in this group buy (ie somebody said they would buy and haven't?) I'm keen, but missed the grp buy!
  8. Engine bay shots. (engine bay needs a quick clean!)
  9. Sure. I'll take one tonite. Looks like a silver top in an R31 though. Are you a "prospective buyer"?
  10. Steering rack has been fixed! Front wheel alignment is being done today. Deposit from prospective buyer will be taken before the windscreen is replaced...
  11. Amen, Particularly when you have a job interview to goto!
  12. Are the injectors side mount, and have you got 4 or 6 (in other words, are they for an SR or an RB...) I want 4 for an SR.
  13. Got any photos? Does it come with something resembling a roadworthy? (for us poor vic folks down here )
  14. Car is now booked in Tuesday the 8th to have the leak in the recently recoed power steering rack fixed. Dash lights have now been fixed too.
  15. First thing I would do is: Get the car looked at by a professional mechanic who knows GTR's. Get them to sign off saying the exhaust is standard straight from the factory, and the CAT is still in one piece. I would get your mate to sign a stat. dec. (counter signed by a police officer for example) saying that he and anyone else have not modified the car since the EPA reading. I would then get the car re-tested firstly by an exhaust shop as an intermittent check (making sure you use the same distances and dB weighting in the specification) and then get re-tested by the EPA, as there are quite a few ways the EPA tests can give false readings. If you can prove the car is below the requirement for dB with the second test, then you have a reason to fight. You probably wont need a lawyer. The fact that your mate has left the car standard, was hopefully respectful to the police, missed his job interview, and showed the car passed the sound level test the second time around without any modification would prove the first test was incorrect (by a number of things), and the EPA obviously made a 'mistake' with their measurements. Can anyone else advise on this?
  16. May swap for a C34 or M35 Stagea, and some cash adjustment depending on what you have.

GoFastBits plumb back blow off valve Recoed power steering rack New ball joints, and castor rod bushes 4 x Bilstein shocks (with the big shaft), fronts have just recently been serviced by Quadrant and are in excellent condition Viscous R200 LSD (getting a little tired, and probably ready for a 1.5 or 2 way Kaaz! ) GTS-R BBS alloy Japanese wheels with Bridgestone GIII tyres Factory 4WS is currently operational. Air-conditioning has recently been serviced and re-gassed EBC green stuff pads on the front, Bendix Ultimates on the rear. Sounds EXCELLENT (Ringwood performance exhaust) 6 x new spark plugs fitted Water pump has been replaced, and the timing belt has been replaced with a GATES belt. Has a Panasonic head unit with Panasonic 6" speakers in the front, and 6" in the rear. Also has two amps and one 10" Kenwood sub in the boot in it's own box. I've always been meaning to remove this to get more boot space, but never got around to it due to building the 1600!!! Item Condition: Excellent condition throughout. Stone chips on the front of the bonnet. Overall the car is in excellent condition and has been meticulously maintained. The car has been used as my daily driver and as I live in whoop whoop, I have cranked over a few k's in it. I have serviced the car every 5000 with synthetic oil (Penrite 10W40), filters, plug gap check, AFM clean etc. etc. The alternate 5K, the car has been professionally serviced to fix anything that I didn't have time for as I was rebuilding the 1600. There are only a few things to get the car RWC, and I will have these done very soon. (replace windscreen, get one of the dash lights working again, fix the recently recoed power steering rack leak - WARRANTY!!!, and loose cover of the steering wheel) May consider selling without RWC, but really it's so close, and most of it is fairly straight forward. Rego is August next year. Currently insured with Shannons Original white paint! (in very good condition except for the stone chips on the front of the bonnet) I really don't want to sell as I really love driving this car and would loved to have turned it into a white GTS-R, but I'm thinking of getting a Stagea station wagon, and as the 1600 only has two seats, I can't have two 'coupes' damn it. Price and price conditions: $9500 with RWC Extra Info: I think the information above covers most things Contact Details: PM me on this site, or reply to this post. PH: 9566 1686 during BH.
