  1. Hey there Jarryd, You can email me directly at [email protected] and I will be happy to help you ... just for the record we no longer use that mobile phone number so email is the best form of contact. I have looked up that Cefiro but I am not sure what you need us to do for you exactly? ... DOTARS should have record of it because our client who originally imported it would have recieved an import approval from DOTARS before it was imported, if you purchased the car from him then you should have recieved that import approval paperwork also. If it's just a case of the registration authority not having the VIN on their system then you need to provide them with the import approval and request that they contact DOTARS to ave it added as it should have been when the approval was issued, although a few do slip through the cracks so this has happened before. In similar situations in the past we have tried to get DOTARS to rectify the mistake but they insisted that the rego authority must be the ones to request it. In any case please email me with what you actually require and I will see what we can do. Regards, Craig @ J-Spec Imports
  2. There are always a few Midnight Purple coloured GTR's around if you are keen to get one, here are just a few that are available at the moment which we can check out for you if you like them - there are more from other dealers as well as some up at auction fairly often which might be a little cheaper too: Please note that the AU$ landed prices listed on these pages is excluding SEVS compliance cost so make sure you allow around $2,200 to $3,000 on top depending on which state you are in and who you use for compliance: http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1963081 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1834378 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=2063565 Let us know if these are even close, or tell us what you are after specifically (including maximum budget assuming we find the perfect car) so we can search for something that meets your specific criteria?
  3. There are heaps of these things around in Japan although we don't list many on our website because they are not as popular or sought after as the older models - in any case there are literlaly dozens available, here are just a few random examples from dealers around Japan that we have access to for starters, let me know if you like any or if you wanted me to look for others that might be more suitable: http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1862642 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1708010 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1663083 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=2020120 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1748913 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=2040061
  4. The good news is that we have more than 200 listings of F50 Cima's with no previous accident repair history that could be landed and complied for around $40,000 or less so there is plenty of choice depending on exactly what model, spec, colour, mileage, etc. that you wanted. Here are a few examples of various spec F50's to give you an idea - please note that the estimated landed costs on the pages below are excluding SEVS compliance which is currently around $3,500 or $4,000 plus tyres. Also keep in mind that these are from used car dealers and you can expect better prices from auctions if you decided to go that way. Nissan Cima 300G (specs) http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=2024386 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=2024385 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1696140 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=2042661 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1900372 Nissan Cima 450XL (specs) http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1644165 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1943424 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1980761 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=2005899 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1964814 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1784608 Nissan Cima 450XV (specs) http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1797750 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1987500 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=2020131 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=2003536 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1893113 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1949541 Nissan Cima 450VIP (specs) http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1983908 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1959278 http://www.j-specimports.com/dealernet/det....php?id=1609489 Hopefully you can see a little more about the cars from the photos and get an idea of reasonable prices, also look at the specs links above for some basic details of each model. There are also a couple of 4WD models (450X FOUR and 450VIP FOUR) but they are not that common so there are not many examples around, and we don't expect that they will be as popular because 4WD is really not that necessary with this sort of car normally.
  5. I just checked here randomly and noticed a few replies on this post but for some reason I never recieved emails from SAU to advise that there were replies, so I appologise for not responding sooner. To get more detailed information you would have to just search around the internet to get specifics but if you wanted basic data about then you can check out this handy Russian website which lists all of the variants although it only has up to 2002 models and hasn't been updated with anything newer for a long time ... http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/nissan/cima/ Regarding compliance there is only one workshop in the whole country with plates for this model and they are in QLD although we can arrange for cars to be complied there and then transported over to WA afterwards for around $600 give or take. It's unlikely there will be others with compliance for the Cima F50 in the near future because they are not expected to be a really popular model like some others around. As for a budget, I was only really wanting to know how much you wanted to spend in total but not what you thought was good for a Cima. If we know what sort of budget you have in total then we can find cars that might be within budget and then you can get an idea of what's around for that sort of price. If you only have $20,000 then there is no point me showing you examples around $40,000 even if they are amazing or wicked bargains, but if you say you have a budget of up to $100,000 then we will probably show you cars up to $60,000 because that is about as much as they can be at the top end of the scale.
  6. Please keep in mind that the cars listed on our website are only a very small sample of what we have access to so please DO NOT just sit around waiting for a car you like to show up - you are far better off telling us what you want and getting us to search through all of our sources for suitable cars ... for example we have access to more than 100 possibly suitable Cima F50's at the moment. If you wanted me to find some cars that you might like then please let me know what you are after including preferred variant, engine, colours, and of course the maximum budget you are playing with because these things vary heaps in price sometimes?
  7. The glass can remain in the car, the only thing specified is that ALL of the running gear must be removed and can't be shipping in the same container or on the same ship.
  8. Generally it's accepted that a car is no longer 'complete' and therefore allowed for import as parts if it's cut in half or has the entire running gear (engine, trans, suspension, etc.) removed and shipped in a seperate container on a different vessel from to Australia.
  9. Sorry for not replying already but we only just recieved your email and unfortunately we can't answer all emails immediately due to the huge demand for our service - we have to give priority to clients who have already paid deposits to find cars or with cars purchased and already on the way, so new general enquiries must be given a lower priority although we do try to get an much done each day as possible.
  10. If you have no import approval paperwork then you will never be able to get the shell registered.
  11. The ability to register this GTR will depend on how it was imported to Australia - with any luck the seller will provide you with the original import paperwork or at the very least the import approval from DOTARS, then we can advise on how to proceed with getting it registered if it's at all possible. Please feel free to message me with more details once you know and I will be happy to advise further.
  12. Once an import approval is issued by a specific workshop then you MUST have the car complied by them unless there is some serious reasons to have it changed. The only way that DOTARS will accept a change is if that workshop has gone out of business or something similar, or if the workshop requests that it's changed themselves. If you have some issues with a specific workshop and would like advise but would rather not mention too much on the forum then please feel free to PM me and I will be happy to help.
  13. You have to have the car cleared through customs by a licenced agent, most charge around $100 to $250 for their service depending on exactly what they do. You can choose a cheaper agent who only does the actual clearance and do a lot of the running around yourself if you want but it would only save you $50 to $100 and would be the most painful 2 days of your life if you haven't done it before - even after importing as many cars as I have personally I would still use a customs agent who offers the full service. Usually we arrange the clearance for all of our clients through the most appropriate agent at the time, however you can arrange it yourself but please make sure you let us know so the clearance isn't lodged twice by accident. Quarantine (AQIS) inspection is done to ensure there are no plant or animal materials on the car, usually they look for things that could start growing like seeds, berries or insects. About half the cars inspected will be ordered for steam cleaning and/or vacuuming, in most cases it's just as a precaution and there is no way to tell which cars will be effected - we have had spotless clean cars sent for steam cleaning and other times cars with heaps of dirty that sailed right through. If the car is ordered for cleaning then it must also be done by an authorised Quarantine approved facility so you can't do it yourself. Let me know if you have any other questions at all.
  14. The de-reg papers are needed by the exporter when the car leaves Japan, they should be sent to you once the car is on the way however many exporters will just keep them on file in Japan unless you specifically request them. If you need them now then contact the agent you purchased the car through and see if they still have them. If they have been lost or misplaced then you will NOT be able to get a replacement copy.
  15. You can get a temporary registration from either VicRoads or the RTA to drive the car up to Sydney, otherwise you can have it transported up and I believe it's legal to drive directly to the RTA as long as you have a registration appointment already however you should check this yourself before doing it.
  16. I assume being a 2003 model that it's a Skyline V35 or late model Stagea in which case it would have been complied under the SEVS scheme - these compliance laws are an Australia wide standard so the paperwork given to you by the compliance workshop will allow registration in any state without any trouble, although you will still need your various coloured slips in NSW as with registering any car or transferring rego from another state so there is no advantage in getting QLD rego at all. If the car wasn't imported under the SEVS compliance laws then the case may be different, in which case you should let you know the details and I will give specific advise then.
  17. To register it in QLD you would need to prove that you live there so that could be hard - if you were able to register it in your name in QLD then you would NOT have to pay stamp duty again to transfer the rego to NSW and you should get back all unused rego, so if you pay $600 for rego and use only one month then you should get back around $550 ... in any case I think it's lot easier to just get a temp rego from either state and drive the car home as it only costs $40 or $50 and saves a huge amount of stuffing around.
  18. I would be happy to have a look around for possibly suitable cars and show you a few examples so you can get an idea of what it will cost to import a car yourself compared to buying locally - please let me know what you were looking for specifically and what sort of budget you had in mind ... either send me a PM here or call after the long weekend when we are working at full speed again.
  19. Hey there Muz, If replies to emails are slow then I apologise, we are flat out with a sudden increase in demand for our service at the moment and unfortunately that means that we just can't get around to answering all general enquiries ... please feel free to call the number listed on our website (0400 502 250) if you have any urgent enquiries including a vehicle you wish to purchase.
  20. Basically you would have to convince DOTARS that you are going to stay here in Australia rather than just spending a week here on holiday before moving back overseas, however once they are convinced and the import approval has ben issued then you can head back overseas again if you like. There are quite a few guys living in Japan who come back to Australia once every year or so and being a personal import with them, I think it's easier for a returning resident than it would be for a foreign passport holder too.
  21. I agree that the Cube will almost certainly never be allowed because it fails to meet the minimum power to weight ratio required for the SEVS scheme, that means it would have to have some sort of outstanding design features which is doesn't appear to have, so it would almost certainly be rejected if an application was to be submitted.
  22. We should be a little more clear about this to avoid confusion: You must have owned the car for a full 12 months while living overseas with it, you may also be required to show proof that you were the main driver of this car while living there. When returning to Australia you must either be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or be prepared to apply for PR status and provide proof that you are moving back here permanently with some of the following documents: - freight of personal possessions from overseas - enrolment of children in school - opening bank accounts - employment contracts - house rental or purchase paperwork - connection of services in your name (power, gas, water) - anything else that shows commitment to stay in Aus The main advantage of importing a car under these laws is that you can import any car regardless of make or model (unlike the limited models allowed under the SEVS compliance laws) For compliance there are a few things that will not be required however the main point is that you don't need to go through an RAWS workshop who has huge overheads like with SEVS compliance. You can expect most personal imports to cost around $600 to $1,000 for the compliance work needed (compared to $2,500 to $4,500 for SEVS)
  23. We usually over allow a little on our estimated prices so there is a good chance that it will be slightly under budget unless there are any unforseen costs along the way, in any case it will usually be within a few hundred dollars either way. Please call us regarding your specific car, the information noted on our website is mainly for 'SEVS compliance' laws which effect most people - you case would be different as you should be able to import under the 'personal import' laws which I would like to explain to you in more detail. The personal import laws are a LOT more relaxed so you will not need to return the car to totally standard or replace tyres if they are in good condition already.
  24. It sounds like people are leading you up the garden path or at least not making it easy for you to understand your options. You should be able to import this car under the 'personal import' laws which is totally different to the SEVS compliance scheme, so you will not need to meet the SEVS compliance requirements however the car will need to be legal in Brisbane. Please feel free to call me directly on 0400 502 250 (+61400502250 from NZ) and I will be happy to go through things in more detail for you if necessary.
  25. Entries from J-Spec are being faxed now and will include: Ben Lippa - Skyline R33 Craig Moor - Skyline R33 Russell Dunn - Skyline R33 Shan Moorthy - Skyline R32 Naveed Ahmed - Skyline R33 Wayne Sterling - Skyline R33
