  1. Just a thought, why not hold it at someplace like the Laurel Hill Convention Centre, between Batlow and Tumbarumba. Accommodation, food, and maybe drinks [not sure] if not then byo. Showers, toilets etc and I reckon price would be low-ish. There are other centre's around like that one, they make good bases for car/motorcycle meets etc. Anyway January in Wagga doesn't sound too flash, +40'C days and all [good drinking weather though].
  2. I got a SII '98,last of the R33's, it had steel wheels, ball bearing. My car wasn't new, could have been changed, but why change the wheels and not hiflow etc. Ask around, I got a feeling that the last R33's may have been steel. Why not hiflow, 250rwkw easy, and only $1200 unbolt, give, get back, bolt up. No mods required to dump or mount or oil lines or water lines.
  3. Thanks for a great mid day sojourn, good to meet and mingle with skyline buffs, had a good time, would have liked to settle in and have a few [god it was so tempting to kick back and do it], but my other life [outside 'lines] kept nagging at me. Thanks Cassi, impeccible organisation, Richard, enough food to feed the third world, and everyone else for the company. Might bring my swag next time and just roll it out, get on it, and stay.
  4. Ball bearing, I was quoted $1950 as well, final cost was $1169.40. BUT they didn't have to convert from bush ==> bearing, mine was already ball. I can scan and post up the invoice if required. I was stoked, $1200 is cheap for the type of performance I expect to get, I can drive it now [it will benefit from a tune, but all in good time].
  5. If I'm early, I'll see ya's at the museum, if not, then at Vinnie's teachers place............ OOhh and see my post on the other thread foor a xmas cruise,,,,,,,,,,,,take care.
  6. One word of caution everyone-----------take it easy, it's the silly season and there will be all sorts of ppl about, please just cruise. i'd really hate to be following an ambulance out there............ I know how it is, heaps of skylines/pride and joy's/mean machines, but save it for another day, play it cool, I WANT TO MEET EVERYONE [not everybody].
  7. I'm bringing another skyline with me, R33 about '94. Young fella, still full of silly ideas and too much energy.................not old and wise [and slow] like myself.............lol And good for you Johnny, we need a mix, need to see all models and years participating...................cyaallthere.
  8. GCG $1169.40 for hiflow on a '98 Gts-t std turbo with new bearings, it was already bb std. Can't skite about the power yet, gotta install a pfc and adj. ex. pulley and get a dyno tune.
  9. Anyone coming with any old 'lines [30, 31's etc], we got heaps of 32, 33, 34's, just wondering what the mix was ???????????? I'll see ya's at Cotter, dropping the ball and chain off at Civic, then motoring out [means I get all the esky contents..........lol].
  10. Thats why you should be an older owner, already got the house and such, keeping the 'line. I understand though, nearly broke my heart having to sell my almost brand new Triumph Trident T160 to buy a car and and such [marriage, kids, house etc]. Good thing is you'll all bounce back bigger and better than ever.......................especially if your a genuine petrol head!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Wheel is sold, thanks to all those interested, buyer was selected from list: Met price asked, including postage. Was next in line, had second fastest response [fastest response never replied to my pm].
  12. All the questions you ask can only be answered by GCG or who ever you get to do the job. I made my decision, I'm happy with the results.
  13. Do a search on hiflow turbo's, it may be your answer.
  14. Get a fmic, u won't get any hp without a good big fmic. Hiflow is a good stepping stone, 250+rwkw, bolt on power and reliability but still a street machine. if you want to hose off every car you meet then I agree with Steve, buy an am turbo [although a 2535 is probably too small for big power numbers].
  15. You won't get sh1t for $1200. Some clapped out peice of garbage that needs major mods to fit. For a hiflow, you get basically a brand new [yours cleaned up and refurbished] turbo that is easily capable of 250rwkw, plus it bolts straight up, no mods needed, everything fits. Unless you want something that is undriveable on the open road, and a stressed out 2.5 motor [i know, I know, it can be pumped up more], the hiflow is a win win option. I didn't want a race car, or a 300+ fuel guzzlin' beast, the hiflow suited me.
  16. No, don't know them at all. Don't exactly know what they did [how much can they do other than hiflow and bearings]. There is only one stage = hiflow, there are no extra stages, they don't have different levels of performance. Went from 51.2/71mm to 56.3/76mm, had ball bearings already, so didn't need converting, just new bearings. And then bigger [obviously] props. I just bolted it straight back on and used it [getting a power fc and a remap coming up, but still works fine till then]. And as far as I know, it was a std GTS-t turbo, I rang and asked Brett about it, and he said it was bog stock and in good condition [i wanted more power and extra reliability + efficiency]. He couldn't tell me how much work it had done. I know the turbo has been off before, the oil and water pipe brackets were disconnected, and I don't think it would leave the factory like that.
  17. Jeez....................there goes my Xmas card, and I was rushing out to the mailbox every day looking too, waiting waiting waiting..........
  18. Amaru....................is that medium rare for Jayce............there's steak's and there's stake's. Then there's mi-stake's....................
  19. Don't know, that is probably their site unseen quote. Once they get into it, maybe some turbo's don't require as much work. You'll have to talk to Brett.
  20. OOOOHHHHH NNNOOO,,,,,,,,,,,,,that's not right, my car only had 40,000km on it................................lol It could have been, or maybe they changed specs. I've got a '98 R33 40th, the last of them, they were virtually making the R34 next to them [figure of speech]. I really don't know, I only know what I have seen on mine, and assumed other late model R33's had the same.
  21. Talk to Brett at GCG, I was quoted $1950, actual cost $1169.40 including postage and insurance [which I requested]. I removed and replaced the turbo myself, you also have to replace the coolant, and oil + filter, so add $100.
  22. If yr looking for someone to check out a car you intend to purchase, and you don't know who to get, NRMA will do it. Also look in the Trading Post, heaps of mechanics advertise this service in there. Hope this helps............
  23. Had several pm's, am talking to prospective buyer now, will keep you all in loop until wheel is confirmed sold. Thanks everyone for interest.
