  1. Jeez ya wanna know everything doncha............. Don't know yet, I'll arrange something, but probably make it in Wagga, it's most central to Albury, Tumut, Griffith, Leeton, Cootamundra, Young etc Any suggestions, we could maybe get the back room of the Shanty hotel at Alfredtown near Wagga??? {I could see Mick and ask}. If you have a better idea let me know. Trying to avoid anyones house at this point, I feel [and I don't know why] it's probably best for now.
  2. Well, I'm thinking that the date for the meeting will be either 23rd January, or 6th February 2005. It's later than we all were thinking, but..............Simmernats 6th/7th January, Fatz track day 15th/16th January, 23rd is free, then 30th will be Australia Day type weekend [26th January]. I'm thinking that the 6th Februaury might be best, gives everyone time to plan etc. Please post if you think otherwise.
  3. Anybody from Northern Vic or Southern NSW please see a thread under National events - rural 'liners - that may interest you. And thanks to the rest of Vic for letting me hijack their section.

  5. Sorry oscar, thought you knew this thread, actually thought it was you that told me about it, how wrong can a fella be......... We were just trying to organise a meeting to get everyone together so we can plan some things like a 'Skyline Day' [that may turn into a weekend] that would be worthwhile for ppl from Canberra etc to attend. They may not come to some sh1tty little meeting [and who would blame them], but they might come to a party meeting. I was thinking Laurel Hill cos we would all be together, we could organise food, drinks, a band/DJ, and do it all for a under say [don't really know yet] $50 a head, but this is the sort of thing we need to talk about, so first step is to have a meeting somewhere to meet and talk with Albury/Griffith/Wagga etc etc. Stay tuned..............
  6. Can't use filler or nikky under powdercoating, the ovens melts/burns it. Prep involves sanding out rough spots, taping up where you don't want it sandblasted, screwing bolts into thread holes, taping exposed thread on bolts. Some powdercoaters will sandblast and powdercoat, others tell you to go and get it sandblasted yourself and then they will powdercoat. Note that any taping you do [to protect polished areas or threads etc] will only last for the sandblasting, you have to have a special heatproof tape for the powdercoating. If you ask nicely the powdercoaters will usually give you a bit. Powdercoating [for those that don't know] involved spraying an article with a dry plastic powder {using electrostatic properties -/+ connections etc, usually the spraygun is + and the article has a - lead attached to it}. The article is then hung in an oven, without being touched, and heated up and the plastic powder is melted on. This process will not cover up/fill blemishes/scratches in the article. They will be coated, but a scratch is still a scratch, just that now it is a powdercoated scratch. I can't remember the oven heat, I think about 270' C, I do know it is hot enough to melt plain solder [soldering iron], but not silver solder [used with an oxy welder].
  7. A big fat dude dressed in red, driving a red/white R32 from the north. He had a white beard. Funny thing was, the car was being towed by reindeer......................can't trust them 32's.
  8. I've got internal hex [allen key] wheel nuts, I had the outside done properly, and the inside just overspray on chrome. I used a 'tree' - made up of bolts welded onto a 1.5 metre strip of steel strap - with the wheel nuts screwed on to protect the thread. This way the blasters and powdercoaters only had to hang the tree up and do their thing. The outside was blasted and chrome removed, the thread was not touched, the internal hex was only blasted by overspray, not much chrome removed. The same effect happened with the powdercoating.
  9. On another note, you really shouldn't jump start a car with an ecu installed. You can if you have an antistatic lead and/or a zap box. As Rachel Hunter says...................iwhobiwh. Just be aware that you can send a zap to the ecu and scramble its poor little brain. Better/safer to swap batteries.
  10. Couldn't retrieve URL, tried on two seperate computers and seperate network providers. cafepress.com is caffeined out..................

We'll keep everyone posted here, if you know of other skyline owners, let them know. R3? whatever as long as it's a skyline.
  13. It's not the only centre like that, there would be others. I wonder if we should organise a meeting with all the local dudes, and then make plans. I'll pm you......

  16. If everyone wants, I can get prices etc for the Laurel Hill one and if anybody has a similar center/centre near them, do the same and we'll see how much it's gunna cost us and if anybody is interested in going vs cost etc
