Thanks for that oscar32, certainly looks tops, if nobody else comes up with an alternative, and it would have to be better, Laurel Hill will be the place [but we'll put it to the vote of cos]. See you all on the 30th, unless your at Narrandera on 23rd. What do you reckon sin, kam, wild, leech, etc etc. Also please note the mileages on the web site for LH, about equidistance from both Sidni and Melbun, so it is fair to those that wish to attend from the slum area's [oohhh you poor ppl having to breathe in all that pollution and such].

Thats it - I just wasn't spose to go to work today.

Did you notice all the stupid animals out on the sand flats when the water receded.............no me either, only us smart humans.

Whats a suit?????????? Crkey mate you'd look like Les Patterson - Cultural Attache for the RSL - with a suit on, specially after spillin' coffee...............lol. I gotta wear shoes now, when I first joined my work we used to be able to rock up in thongs. Still 'T' shirt and shorts/jeans though. -
Anyway nothing is certain till the shanty meeting, it's not just a one person decision, everyone at the meeting will get a chance to put their ideas up, someone could/will likely contribute a heaps better notion.

Nobody has answered my question 'Why do ppl like rap?', buncha outa work poets trying to reinvent the beatnik '50's and be kewl. Give me Tool/Rammstein/Refused any day, power driven rock rules. What is going to make ppl do the 4 hour trip to LH?? I reckon at first it will be in the hope of organising something bigger or better later. I also reckon it will be to meet other skyline owners and get more ppl involved in all events. This kind of thing has a flow on effect, the more involved you get the more involved you want to become. But really, as I've said b4, the shanty meeting, and the LH weekend is primarily for us rural 'liners, and any other skyline addict that wants to turn up. Everyone is worried about female participation/company. If you pack one and bring her along, thats excellent, if you haven't got one/can't bring one/can't talk her into coming then I wouldn't fret too much. No your not 'gay', it just gives you more lattitude behind the wheel and at the bar that night. I go to heaps of motorcycle shows all over the nation, and I reckon the ratio would be 10:1 [10 men one woman usually owned], and I've never seen any any homo's full stop. They get on with the real job of talking motorcycles, yarning, and usually laughing a lot, while having a few drinks. And thats the same with footballers/cricketers/traindrivers/etc etc. You watch, the ones that go to bed early are the ones with the women [they may have a 10 second reason], the real stayers watch the sun come up.

Which womens prison/girls convent are ya's gonna raid, dream on, I won't wake yez up.

Well why doesn't it fall off when I ground the car out, should come off like a silk sheet???? I'll be happy to talk theory with you over amber brain food sometime.......lol
-
Me too, there's sh1tloads of stuff I don't know [like why do ppl like rap, and why does dust blow onto your 'line, but no matter how fast you drive it won't blow off]. But one day I'll ring Dr Karl and he can tell me. Yeah, and idea of the prices etc would be very very handy, and a handle on what u get for yr $$$$, type of food, accom etc i'll leave it in yr capable hands.....................lol

Tumut is 40km from LH, there are several Premium/Ultimate/Ultra outlets. I won't need to worry about being towed. And I'll buy all breakdowns for spares.......lol. Tumbarumba would likely have a premium outlet as well, it would be 25km away. I thought it was just rural 'liners with a few ACT and others coming along for the party, I wasn't thinking mega show/national. A national would have to be at a large centre such as Wagga/Canberra etc [as I've already posted]. We'd all be f#*ked in LH with 300+ people, way too much work for us anyway. Commemorative badges, insurance, timetables, bankbooks for prepaids, working capital etc etc it would take 20+ people that knew what they were doing.

WoooWoooWooo..........back up, nobody wasn't talkin' about a national event, that is way more than we were aiming for. This is just a rural 'liners day/weekend. Lets do what we can afford. Lets crawl first, then we can walk later. I've seen events that went in big first up and loose heaps $$$$, fold and never happen again. I would rather build the event up gradually and increase catering, and venue size as participant level increased. But I'm not aiming for a national event at this stage. LH would struggle to cater for 100-200. I was thinking more 50-100 max. Anyway most car clubs have a roving national event, this lets everyone attend at least one or two every 5 years. IE Albury one year, Toowoomba the next, Kalgoorlie, then Alice Springs, then Dubbo, Grafton, Mildura etc etc etc. If it is a truely national event it has to be bipartisan and available for ALL members at some stage. If anyone here has strong ideals about this then they are more than welcome to assume control and run with their dreams. I guess the meeting on the 30th will sort out the direction we are to take and who will do what and when. Lets not overextend our abilities just yet. I urge and vote for some caution. Al, everything you say is good, and a national event would be ideal, but it was never the intent to go that far just yet. Anyway, if we were to plan a national event of some type, then all states would have to be involved in the planning. How about this: SAU use the LH weekend to meet and thrash out and plan a national meeting. That way Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide etc reps could meet and get the ball rolling - effectively paggybacking on our smaller more social event.

Media, I vote for Jane Spiteri, or Jessica Rowe.

Gr33ddy, I posted on the NSW and Vic section, didn't know you guys had a thread going, I posted early on it but haven't been back since, so didn't realise the growth in the SC area. We really don't have anything to post yet, thats what the meeting on the 30th is about. Once we settle on date/s, venue, and type of function we will be posting. I'll put a link in to here on the SC thread for those interested, but it's really only a fyi at the moment.

On another note, there are street drags at Narrandera airport on 23rd January, I'll be there, not racing this year, waiting on my pfc etc but it should be an OK day.
-
Love the thread, straight out of 'Acropolis Now', waiting' for nick and effie's reply.

If anybody see's any other Skylines and would like to tell them about this meeting, print out the attached 'flyer' and hand it to them or put it under their windscreen wiper. I've been at Prank to design and make up some greeting, business cards that we could use for this sort of thing, but the idea is still just that at the moment, an idea. It will happen, but it needs an SAU approach with one card design, not a piecemeal effort by heaps of ppl and zillionz of types.

This has probably already been answered, but it it is on the Sturt Highway, 10 km Sydney-Gundagai-Canberra side of Wagga.

My car got stolen today
tridentt150v replied to bootlegapparel's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Clubby, kill switch, and a cable lock around the steering wheel to clutch and brake levers, no alarm [who pays attention to 'em anyway]. They'll still steal it if they really want to, but it makes it a bit harder. -
Nah, it's a stick line, like a stick horse, for stick figures, who all live on sticky date pudding, and stick it up everything, because they are all stuck up, AAAAhhhh jeez I'm so stick of it............ Otherwise benm is correct, won't know a big diff till you add a fmic evc and boost it up.

Yeah sounds kewl, but lets have a meeting about it with the rest of the 'local gang' and sort it out. If you could bring some accom. prices to the table so we know what we are looking at, that would be a start. I reckon a meeting at the Shanty pub on Sunday the 30th Jan start at 1200 midday. I'll talk to Mick Neason and see if we can get a corner of the dining room. If anybody here reckons otherwise please speak out. If I don't hear any different within a week [11th next Friday], I'll go ahead with it. Then I reckon we'll be able to really organise a weekend bash. We have to think about food, drink, entertainment, and accommodation. Probably need deposits from those attending so we know exactly who's coming. And, we are all different, all ages, and ethnic backgrounds etc etc etc so whatever we do we have to do for everyone. We all have or admire Skylines though..................

u don't even know wot yr gettin' into yet...lol Up there for enthusiasm leech, good to see.........

I like your thinking, if we get enough ppl interested, it would be ideal for a weekend meet/party.
