  1. I imagine you are just a moderator, not an admin? But whatever.... The forums definately need a reindex.
  2. Bump.
  3. Ding, ding, ding Merlin is right. HICAS problems are almost always to do with either low fluid or an incorrect or incorrectly fitted boss kit. So if you can tell us what the boss kit is, and even better, provide some pictures of the install we might be able to help.
  4. Is the Z-tune the final production one, or the original concept/engineering car? Lucien.
  5. Yeah, I've heard that sex change surgery can do wonders
  6. There are an awful lot of threads about HICAS..... How long is a piece of string? HKB make HICAS compatible boss kits, but whether or not you have the right one is hard to say without a model number or at least a picture. Lucien.
  7. My 0.02 cents is that its not what you think it 'sounds' like or what connotations you think it has, its what the listener thinks. To my mind "Jap" is highly derogatory given the historical Australian animosity towards the Japanese post-WWII. There are very strong negative connotations associated with the abbreviation and as such I feel its entirely inappropriate to use it. Lucien.
  8. I seem to recall someone saying that you shouldn't preload the master cylinder: i.e. wind it so its just touching the master cylinder.
  9. Likewise. If anyone has a price (even rough) that would be good. Hope they don't require taking the shocks off :uhh: Sorry to go a little off topic. Nice thread
  10. Not much will break more often than an R32 GT-R
  11. Search doesn't seem to work with terms that are smaller than four characters. That's pretty normal practice, except usually you would get an error message saying "search term no long enough" or similar.
  12. Interesting, interesting. Need to replace my clutch and I'm leaning towards a Jim Berry "Stage 1" based on all the very positive feedback from SAU owner's with high HP (not that I am running high HP ). Might have to price one of these up too (Nick: did you find anywhere special to get a price or just the usual Nengun/Greenline/etc)? Lucien
  13. These are called "escrow" services. There are a number of companies that specialise in this.
  14. For some reason my post disappeared...? Anyway, I'm after a lightened flywheel for a R32 GT-R anyone has one lying around Its for an 1989 model (I can never remember if its the push or pull type). Alternatively if you know of a good deal going through a retailer please let me know. Lucien.
  15. So that was a brand new seal? Any ideas if it was R32 specific or suited to another car? Sorry to go off topic
  16. Make sure you don't have any funky scaling going on in the print options in Acrobat.
  17. Out of interest, where (and for how much) are you getting the rear windscreen seal replaced?
  18. I actually saw Alan this weekend: silly woman forgot her PIN number (after nine months of continuous use!?!?!) so Alan was nice enough to come out and reset it. Anyhoo I had a bit of chat to him. He is in direct contact with the manufacture of Brant alarms so can still supply, support and warrant Brant stuff. And yes, he installs other gear. IIRC the Brant hsas problems with one particularly brand of turbo timer but is fine with some others. Ask Alan, he will know. Oh, and did I mention he is an absolute top bloke? Don't forget to mention your friends from SAU sent you :wavey: Lucien.
  19. There is no magical limit. It depends on everything from your car's health to driving style to whether the turbo is a Friday special. The safest boost level is the stock boost level. 12 PSI is usually quoted as the "safe" maximum, but don't come crying if your turbo lets go at that boost level
  20. Hi All, Clutch has apparently died in my R32 GT-R so its time to do a switcheroo. Whilst its all apart it might be worthwhile adding a lightened flywheel. So does anyone have a lightened flywheel for an R32 GT-R (1989 model: can never remember if they are push or pull) sitting around that they want to sell? Alternatively, does if anyone knows of some good deals lemme know. Lucien.
  21. I see the Americans have also taken on board the Japanese passion for killing whales (What, no "that will buff right out" comments?)
  22. I assume this is directed to me. Nowhere have I even suggested that buyers are to "blame". My point was that given SAU is essentially a free not for profit service that is staffed by volunteers, it is entirely unrealistic to expect SAU to be able to provide a completely safe environment for trading. Look at Ebay: even though it has massive resources it still can't provide a safe trading environment. That is not to say that every effort should be made (although again one must realise that moderators have lives/jobs and do this out of good will). Given it is simply impossible to provide a perfect trading environmet I figure we either don't have a classifieds at all or we have one where buyer caution must be emphasised.
  23. I thought long and hard about what I posted
  24. Only on my way to work at the Cross
  25. The breaks are in the FRP (fibreglass) structure, not the carbon fibre top layer. Edit: Doh. That will teach me for not refreshing a thread between reading and posting.
