  1. Is there any concensus on what the stock oil pressure guage should read (on an R32 GT-R)? My car has been off the road for awhile so I've forgotten exactly what it was awhile ago, but I seem to recall it varied between about 2 and 4 on the guage. Today I noticed at idle it sits at about 1 (its hard to guess given the markings are 2, 4, 6 and 8 IIRC), and when driving at about 2. If I gave it a boot, it got towards 3-ish...
  2. Only if they are too proud to admit their mistakes and most people on here are cluey enough to work out when someone is BS'ing (normally because within weeks there is a "help. my engine died" thread ).
  3. To answer the hijack. If the sparkplug isn't sparking (i.e. its busted) or, for example, the spark is being blown out (i.e. the gap is wrong) then yes. Replace them as they tend to get fouled if the car isn't tuned for local fuel and is running rich. Makes sure when you get them to check the gapping with a feeler guage: I can't understand why people always rely on pre-gapped plugs being spot on because there is quite a variation in my experience.
  4. When properly serviced, sure. But how many people service their car religiously, particularly as it gets older, worth less, and more expensive to keep?
  5. 1. No truely major issues. I have a leaking exhaust manifold but that's a hassle more than anything. 2. Pretty much. 3. No, I tried to overbudget so its come out about right. 4. Call me pig headed, but I do believe the KMs (even though the log book never surfaced -- grrr). Everything about the car indicates its been regularly serviced at a Nissan dealership. 5. There are no bargin GT-Rs, just less expensive ones.
  6. For those of as not on the racing scene, what does that imply (ie. did the commondoor fail or ...)?
  7. In fairness, I think SK has been extremely busy with the racing side of things. When people try to do things in their spare time its not necessarily a "cop out" if other things get in the way. You could always organise to do the tests or are you going to cop out?
  8. Clutch is in. Haven't had a chance to give the car a good thrash as its got 4 week old petrol in it, so I'm trying to stay well off boost ATM. Keep in mind I haven't driven the car for nearly 6 weeks: I've been driving a turbo diesel landrover instead (very similar driving experience... not). Initial impressions are... oh, fcuk, I stalled The clutch take up is much lower in the pedal travel, but that's probably more to do with the previous clutch being cactus. The clutch pedal feel is very nice: I think its probably ever so slightly heavier, but there would be a pooftenth in it (and maybe a smidge of placebo). One thing that is noticeable, even at the low revs I've been keeping too, is that it grabs harder and holds on. Its still definately slip'able, which was a one of my requirements given I drive in Sydney traffic. Finally, the annoying squeaky problem I had is also gone, replaced with a nice clunk when engaging/disengaging the clutch. Give me a week and a fresh batch of juice and I'll have more to say.
  9. Covered to hell (and back... and back... and back... and... you get the point): http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...highlite=oil%2A
  10. Your command is.. well, whatever. Sorry.
  11. You are a bad bad man Gary. Just when the bank account is already bleeding red... Will be interested to see the prices for R32 GT-R when you post them up. Out of interest, are you intending to post up the spring rates and valving details, or are the hush hush?
  12. Who rebuilt the turbos? What sort of cartridge was used? Ball bearing? Specs? Lucien.
  13. So, what are the rules? Initial-R? First to rust away?
  14. You didn't try too hard... http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...103440&hl=rein*
  15. There is a go on NissanSilvia who is the Aussie distro. Lucien.
  16. White wheels look great Rezz. In fact, by S13 standards (I'm not a fan), the whole car looks great in the two tone.
  17. Spotted AIV-01L turning in to Norton St. from Allen St. A little later spotted GTR-O32 turning in to Norton St. from Parramatta Rd.
  18. Me three! I sense a trend here..... and all the cool people are doing it LW.
  19. How are the vents? Willing to sell them seperately?
  20. Yeah, but you don't see them buying a 318i and installing a supercharged M3 drivetrain even though it would be a much cheaper way to achieve better than M3 performance. I think they quite like the fact its got an uber expensive badge on it. Besides, people who buy beautiful cars and lock them up should be shot.
  21. I dunno about that: doesn't seem to be the case for a lot of Ferrari/Porsche/Lambo/AMG/M-power/blah blah blah cars I'd also be suprised if you could get the same level of fit, finish and detail as Nismo gets.
  22. R32 2 and 4 door share the same floor plan IIRC, whilst the R33 variants don't, hence why 2-door exhausts fit on 4-door R32s perfectly but are a bit short on the R33.
  23. You can buy the LM GT4s in black (well, second hand at least): I know, I bid on a set For example: http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k24062019 What you say about offsets is I'm sure correct, but my point was that its still an LM GT4 design from what I've seen (even if it is a different offset to normal). Lucien.
  24. That might be the case, but I can assure you the english version has been available in the usual places for quite awhile now
  25. Its been floating around the interweb for a month or two. It has an interesting segment about the Z tune which details the construction and planning stages. Unfortunately, apart from a short squirt one a public road, you don't get much in the way of driving impression. Hopefully some wealthy Japanese person will buy one and loan it to BMI and HVI to test
