  1. They are just Nismo LM GT4s IIRC, so they aren't that hard to get. A question to Tosh: what's the go with exporting a car already in complied in Australia to Japan, having it further modified, and bringing it back in to the country? Are there any requirements for re-complying the car?
  2. Roger that, and the standard ring clips that hold it in place are not the greatest either IMHO.
  3. Nice (both the car and the new J-spec site design ). LW.
  4. You can get one by channellng the search button. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...37&hl=jim+berry
  5. There is a guy on here -- Newkleer or similar -- selling these cables. IIRC they were around the $60 mark. I've always been tempted.... Edit: Here we go: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...topic=72397&hl=
  6. ROFLMAO. Thanks for a good start to the day
  7. If your asking where to buy those parts, I wouldn't be looking at performance shops in Sydney. The interweb is your friend. If your asking about installation, most of those are very easy and well covered on this forum. Consider doing them yourself if you have the time/tools as its a great way to learn and save some dosh (for more mods of course!). As always, I'd give Nathan @ Grey Imports ((02) 9519 5150) a shout if your in the inner west area. Lucien.
  8. Spotted a baby blue R33 at Grey Imports today with bent left rear suspension. Someone's being doing some doridori me thinks Spotted a black R32 GTS-t (??) on Balmain Rd (Leichhardt) at about 8:30AM: don't remember the plates.
  9. A ticking noise? Doesn't sound too gasket-like to me: they tend to be more like whistles (or puffing). Things to watch out: * Replace all studs/nuts/copper washers. Check the workshop manual to get an idea of what's required. They are exposed to very high temps and constant expansion/contraction so don't skimp or you might be doing it again after a stud or nut gives up. * Replace all gaskets. * Make absolutely sure you replace the washers for the oil/water lines. They can be hard to find (to buy). * Check the straightness of each side of the exhaust manifold. Machine it if its even a little out or you'll be ripping it apart again (I know this from experience ). CEF11E: I had to be a bit rough with the water and oil lines personally (RB26).
  10. How "inner" Sydney?
  11. Wee. Clutch is finally out and on its way to Jim. Turns out there was still quite a bit of meat left on the clutch, but according to Nath @ Grey Imports the flywheel was covered in blue spots indicating the pressure plate has died. Noice. Thanks everyone for your input
  12. I sense an opening in the market for chai... err.. high performance rubber plugs
  13. Sexah: http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=3733 LW.
  14. After 5000Km you should change oil + filter, and that's about it. $220 is way too much IMHO (though it could well include other things). I think the last one I had done at a workshop was about $150. That was using about 6l of Royal Purple too as I wanted them to flush out the old crud.
  15. Yes, its the Japanese body that governs exhaust loudness. JASMA approval is a good indication that the exhaust will be near-enough legal on our roads. Usually there is a little stamp on the exhaust, or something amongst the documentation. Lucien.
  16. They are impressive, but they also don't appear to have a resonator which tends to indicate they aren't JASMA approved (and also accounts for their lightness). Unfortunately there is nothing on Vielside's website either, hence the question.
  17. Yes, they are 18x9.5
  18. Do they look a little like this? Lucien.
  19. The "Stage 1" from Jim is (IIRC) about $695 + GST on exchange. Fitting is probably about $300. Then you have your parts costs (seals, bushes, oil, etc). A few corrections on my previous list. Jim provides a front seal (not rear). And he is not a big believer in balancing the flywheel: he said just to get it machined. Lucien.
  20. My dad is going to call me this weekend: I'll ask him to confirm. Edit: I should also mention that the sticking out effect is probably slightly exaggerated by two things: 1) I have no idea what the camber is on my car ATM. 2) I only installed the TE-37s on one side of the car: the other side still had the stock 16" wheels on.
  21. Well the Tomei's are made out of exactly the same stuff.... No idea on the OS G's though.
  22. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...dpost&p=1530298
  23. Tony, Cmon you should know better Those are the "Revision 1" HKS gears. The "Rev. 2" gears -- which use duralumin -- don't appear to have the same problems. Edit: I'd still look at getting the Tomei gears as part of the camshaft + camgear packages they do. LW.
  24. Hi Richard, Yes my Volks are 18x9.5. I can't recall exactly what the offset is (they are stored at my dads house ATM). I'm fairly sure they are +22 as per the Rays fitting chart for R34 GT-R. However, as the fitting chart states Basically they extend out of the front fenders on R34 GT-Rs, and *I think* both front and rear on R32s but its a little hard to tell as I only test fitted them quickly: A few more piccies from various angles here. Lucien.
