  1. It maybe the front tie rods. Water gets in behind the boots and allows them to rust and they wear over time anyway. The tire shop would (should) have picked up on it during the alignment if that was the issue though.... Make sure all the wheel nuts are done up, get the front up off the ground and grab the corner of the rims and move them left to right, giggling them. It the rim moves without the steering wheel moving there is your problem. Even 1-2mm will cause shudder >75km. You can replace these, they are ~$80 for the pair. Alternatively the same for the wheel bearings. If its a bearing the tie rod wont move in and out, but the rim will have 1-3mm movement in it.
  2. Yep, any tool has its limitations. But it's something else you can use. I'm not saying take it (optimal lap) as gospel, but better to have it as a diagnostic tool than not too. I've generally found it usefully in paying around with different sectors, as you say it is difficult to pull the whole lap together. You can take chunks out of it and make up 2-3 tenth, but maybe not the full 7 tenths of the optimal lap though. AVI is video format, so you can sync it up with your in-car footage.
  3. That qstarz unit has been around for at least 6 months now. http://www.qstarz.com.au/index_files/Page487.htm I would want anything to have the ability to convert in AVI. I'm thinking the racechrono software would be much better. Performance box format export, pre loaded tracks and splits, optimal lap, split comparison and AVI export.
  4. VQ is the V6 Russ. There is someone doing a build in the build section. http://en.wikipedia....issan_VQ_engine I'm thinking of more power for mine in time for wta as well, hrm.
  5. That is at the flywheel. Stock e46 M3 dyno pull here e36 3.2L M3
  6. ^as above or You also have nismo.com.au (UAS) caliper spacers $300 + RDA 324mm rotors $320 from the group buy. cross drilled will make the rotors crack very quick. dba 4000 are known to crack. i've cracked one and seen 2 other at the track with the same fate.
  7. or will it be a VQ power plant?
  8. It's going to take a few more weeks yet.
  9. not sure, havent done the lower arm.
  10. Kumho KU31? They are the standard 595, not the evo? Either way lots of people run 595. imo the standard 595 are pretty loud though.
  11. They should have a sticker on them.
  12. You said what now?!?! 10kg/8kg superstreets are always going to be hard. OP, are they just replacements? Pedders do a re-brand BC body with their own spring, they are ok. If not just get some BC's later on, with softer springs if you want 6/5's or something.

    Exhaust Leak

The dump was heat wrapped for that one and running the standard r33 turbo @ 12psi. The other two didnt crack, just warped with no wrapped at all and 21U highflow @ 14psi. In saying that the car sees only track work. When you pull the mani off, make sure the exhaust housing is still flat.

Mate I changed my manifold 3 times in 2010. It's not all that hard, just a pain in the bum. Coat all the nuts in wd40, wait an hour, coat them again. Let it sit for an hour or so, then have a go at them. You will be able to get a manifold from the wreckers (osaka imports) $100-140 + nissan mani gasket $110 (kudos motorsport) + turbo gasket & crush washers $50 (kudos motorsport). My first one.
  15. 2. you can also use the online entry forms, http://www.wrx.com.au/motorsport.html The CAMS website is a little bit of a maze, so this is what you want. http://www.cams.com.au/Development/Get_Involved/Competitors/~/media/Files/FORMS/59697%202011%20CAMS%20Lv%202%20License%20application%20renewal.ashx If you haven't been to the circuit before, just put down that you haven't been there. They will group you accordingly.
  16. Sh|t. Did it go over night or during the day?
  17. There is a hole in the arm. Put a bush either side and fasten the threaded piece of the eye through it.
  18. Maserati have a club only day at PI in late Jan / early Feb iirc. Though as you say their site is down. Sun, 20 Feb - Sandown SuperSprint CAMS Sun 6 March - Haunted Hills Hillclimb CAMS Sun, April 10 - Winton SuperSprint AASA. Sun, May 22 - Phillip Island SuperSprint CAMS Sun July 3 - Sandown SuperSprint CAMS Sun, Aug 21 - Phillip Island SuperSprint CAMS Sun, Sept 25 - Winton SuperSprint AASA Sun Nov 20 - Phillip Island SuperSprint CAMS; to be confirmed Sun Dec 4 - Sandown CAMS; to be confirmed If PI and Sandown would wake up and smell the 2011 air, they would put the dates on their furk'n websites!
  19. not interested in these?http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/348904-r32-gtr-nismo-edition/page__p__5607709__hl__r32__fromsearch__1#entry5607709 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/347642-1989-r32-gtr-forged-engine-with-hks-turbos/page__p__5608787__hl__r32__fromsearch__1#entry5608787 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/335222-nissan-skyline-r32-gtr-1992/page__hl__r32
  20. youre in the south east, take it to cartech in dandy. http://www.cartechsteeringandsuspension.com/
  21. yeh sorry i meant bolts. see ya at the track Winton - aussie day 26th Jan with tampered $160 with timing http://www.wintonmotorraceway.com.au/home/index.php?option=com_events&task=view_detail&agid=424&year=2011&month=01&day=26&Itemid=41
  22. have a look in there http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/55845-rb25-turbo-upgrade-all-dyno-results/ drop 3076 into the search box on the top right. 3076 kit http://www.gcg.com.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=538&category_id=56&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53 you will also need - justjap front pipe www.justjap.com.au - highflow cat / no cat - z32 afm - pfc / nistune / g4 - ebc (apexi / blitz / hks / g4) - 550cc+ injectors - solid intake pipe (you will need this as the standard item sucks closed) - intercooler (how much is the plazman? jjr turn flow in black looks stock, no holes, retains standard piping, do it all in your garage.) - bosch or walbro pump that will burn through $6k. change up the plenum and manifold later on. But what I would do is the following for 250rwkw - hypergear highflow on the stock turbo $1000 - jjr front / dump $100 - jjr highflow cat $100 - boost 't $80 - nistune $1000 - s15 injectors / 740cc highflow stockies $450 - bosch pump $150 - jjr black turn flow $550 - solid intake pipe $250 there is ~$3500 in any case, buy the parts yourself then take them to a workshop to get fitted if you dont want to do them yourself.
  23. before you grab a boost 't ($80) and nistune ($800) or pfc ($1800), which is the next step (160-220rwkw). do this little mod http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/42895-howto-rb25det-high-boost-mode-with-standard-solenoid/ as the guys have said, you maybe able to run 10psi with the standard tune. but its hit and miss and will run rich and blow crazy black smoke (kinda like a large truck, you may like this...back of the car gets very dirty though...). give this thread a read as well http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/66556-forced-induction-quick-ref-guide/
  24. use the existing seat holes and nuts. bunnings piece of alloy, autobarnz cams extinguisher.
  25. youre looking for 'sprint' days and not race days. have a look at the Wakefield and EC websites. Will need CAMS L2s or AASA license, $50-$100 / yr. grab an oil cooler and some track day pads (see the brake pad thread in suspension). A1RM, HC+, Yellow/Blue Stuff, F2500 etc. new oil in the engine, box, diff and brakes (rbf600). hit the track with the standards rims and tires. upgrade the suspension, tires (ku36, 595rsr, r1r, rs3, ad08) then (re55, ao50) etc as you get more confident.
