  1. It probably was the brand, as they are renowned for bad wet performance. Dad was driving the 1 & 1/2 wet stages so I can't comment from a driver's point of view, but it felt like the car was sliding everywhere from where I was sitting, and some of the expletieves coming though the comm's indicated the same thing. I've got Dunlops on my car, just waiting for a wet club day/hillclimb to see the diference in grip between the brands. also the bit between the steering wheel and seat probably helps
  2. up to 1998 Targa cars ran on street tyres, and back then it wasn't as restriced so the cars had more power than they do now. And they seemed to hold up fine back then. R tyres are shit house in the wet. Fern Glade in Targa this year was like an ice skating ring, tyres were bone cold at the start, and still bone cold at the end. Having said that, I don't realy want to see R tyres go. But compared to some of the other slowing down options (speed limits, heavier car restrictions) it's not such a bad option.
  3. realy? my mate has a Nismo R32, and it's got the same Nissan adjustible acutators as our car.
  4. N1's have adjustible accuators, so standard boost was probably depending on the guy's mood when the car was built
  5. they run 0.8 bar stock. We run 1.3 bar on the race car.
  6. Any word on some good cars to enter the 2WD section, let alone a facotry 2WD team? I saw Mazda's two Targa cars for sale in Unique Cars. Pug's just don't do it for me I've heard talks of some factory teams for the 4WD section.
  7. They moving the dyno to the new dyno room?
  8. Here here! I thought I was the only one pissed off about this. Unless a V-Spec N1 is coming
  9. I don't think your the first person to comment on Walkden's involvment and how it suit's his cars. I recon it's gunna come back and bite him when all the fast cars that people want too see pull out. It'll have to be renamed to Rally Evo and Rally Sti.
  10. Yep that was me, almost rear ended Jimmy Richards old 993 Turbo on the first run, still using our tyres from Targa. Was abit of Targa history on the track, Targa 99 winning and runner up cars. Still finished in the same order on the day though
  11. R34 N1's are heaps better than thr R32 & R33 N1's. The R33 N1's will give you a good kick when they come in, they'll come in harder than newer turbo's, but it'll be later.
  12. I recon the 350Z would be on the money for the 2WD section. We all know a Evo or STI will win the 4WD section.
  13. not sure, i havn't used hi-flows. But I have used R33 N1's and GT2530's
  14. R32 and R33 N1's are shit and laggy. HKS GT2530, or the Garrett equivelent (never can remember the number) are heaps better. Same top end, but with alot better responce.
  15. Hopefully Nissan will bring out a N1 to get a better spec in the Super Taikyu (and better spec for all classes) Looks like it's got masking tape on the wheels, they might want white spokes to see what the wheels are doing.
  16. Times are up, .07 slower than that bloody Porsche But faster than dad
  17. Would that change if you were in 190k restricted events? Funny you say about the M3, I was telling Travis from boost about the accidents, and the first thing he said was "that m3 always crashes"
  18. Well the paper said that select straights would be radar gunned. And some cars would be GPS tracked.
  19. I have DBA 5000 series, and I've had 5 club days at Symmonds Plains, 1 at Baskerville, and various road driving, and they have barly been worn. Using Pagit RS14 pads
  20. My Dunlop DZ02's started to heavly wear the outside edge cause i don't havn enough camber (and a all round shit suspention setup) I'm putting adjustible upper arms on in the next few weeks, so i'll be hoping it fixes it.
  21. I didn't think much of the limit at all, and I think the faster cars could could come off more, as they would probably push harder round the corners to keep up with nimble cars, or lose consentration cause their driving along a straight's staring at the speedo. as stu said accidents happin in corners. WRC cars don't go past 200k, yet they have the biggest crashes of any form of motorsport on 4 wheels.
  22. The local paper said that Rally Tas is banning opentop cars for 08, and putting 190k speed limit on the event.
  23. They are 2 big hit's. That M3 is flat, where did the engine go? You don't need to be going fast to distroy a car. Just look at Marks GT-R from Targa this year, only went off the road at snails pace, but there just happened to be a giant bank too roll down.
  24. If Donut King payed for a R35 GT-R for me to drive i'd be happy to have it pink.
