  1. I really don't think the external drain does much at all. You need to put in restrictors to stop excess oil getting into the head in the first place. If you guys are having braking problems at Baskerville, you're going to need to do a lot of sotring before you head to Symmons. Baskerville isn't that hard on brakes.
  2. speaking of consaulting organisers....Benson answer your emails
  3. bump, we need moar people
  4. Did we find out what happened to rosbergs nose on the last lap?
  5. Well there you go. Where is the line drawn then? Can gtst's run a bolt on HKS or Apexi turbo?
  6. I'd like to see the EMO 4's with EMO 9 turbo's stand up in a protest.
  7. Symmons and Baskerville are just as cold as each other.
  8. yeah knock sensors. Thanks for that, it'll probably live in my race car for 90% of the time, the ECU (PS2000) is knock deaf. But I want to run a knock input into my racepak dash for logging and warning. I don't mind having to mod the wiring to change sensors. Good to know the HKS will be a good option.
  9. would you run bosch sensors, or do the oem ones do the job?
  10. one last bump?
  11. do you have any pics of the day?
  12. pics or it didn't happen

    Sau Tas Club?

I looked into this a few years ago. I think we need to separate wants from needs Needs: Members 50+ Scrutineers Officials (flaggies, timing...etc) People that have time, and know how to run a business CAMS affiliation Motorsports Tas affiliation SAU Affiliation Tassie is a small place, and getting numbers to run an event is always a problem. To get people on board we need to identify what other clubs don't do well. Cause we are going to need to 'steal' members from other clubs, and people will only change if there is a benifit for them (mainly membership price/benifits...eg I'm a Light Car Club of Tas member cause it's cheap, and the Motorsports Tas affiliation gives me cheap private hire of the tracks, their trackdays are run well....but they takes aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages to start (noon usually). I think Tassie needs a club for younger people and import owners. But it needs to be better organised that the stickers, for a start as a buisness you can't go stealing logos (even if your excuse is you assumed they were all the same), and it needs to be voted on properly not just one person picking somthing out, granted they wouldn't have ever got made if that didn't happen. It might sound harsh, but things like that can effect affiliation chances. Most of the clubs decisions will be done via voting. I personally think Tassie needs more hillclimbs. There is other clubs running plenty of trackdays already, probably only need 3 extra during the year. This is not somting to rush into, it needs to be planned out properly. If it is done properly it will be a great thing.
  14. yeah they do nistunes. Brad likes Haltechs, pretty sure he'd rather set himself on fire than push microtechs. The haltech and link (vipec) are very close on features and price.
  15. I read he lost his licence for le mans
  16. I wouldn't bother with a motec, you pay a pretty big premium for no extra features, and the ones with the extra featues are $3000-$5000. Just wondering if you have contacted Boost in Launceston for a ecu/tune? Just seem a lot of hassle to go all the way to ulverstone.
  17. hmm i think not. I remeber him driving straight into the back of kimi at the red light in the pits
  18. They built the fastest track car in Tas. Andrew Lawson's Nizpro 200SXR, YT's Lambo engine has been on the engine dyno there too. But I havn't heard a great deal more about them. Where are you based?
  19. motec platinum? you mean Haltech platinum? I've got a Haltech platinum, and I highly recomend them. If your going to get a Vipec, get a link instead and save yourself $200 (they are the same ecu)
  20. yep R33 N1's, full boost at 5500rpm. dad ran 25psi through them in Targa 2010, and we checked them after the event, and they are still like new. cams were stockers n1's. anyone with R34 N1's who winges needs a kick in the pants.
  21. When the Targa class in tassie got to run at the V8 Supercars, the only cars that couldn't handle the 15 lap races (local races are 5-7 laps) were the circuit cars. The cars that compete in Targa just kept going and going.
  22. As far as high revs go, Mt Arrowsmith would have a lot more sustained high revs than Bathurst.
  23. N1 Turbos are laggy, but they can handle a tonne of boost. Just means you have to rev the engine (We ran ours to 8500rpm) As I've said before, once you move the pickup, and gate the std sump it'll do the job easily. You don't see many Targa cars on the circuit, because most of the cars don't have a racing class to fit into.
  24. I agree they were awsome, they poor guys supporting them didn't get much sleep leading up or during the event. It's good to know that if you're 500m off in the shrubbery/dam. someone will know where you are, and that you're in trouble.
  25. They were meant to, some times it worked, some times it didn't. When it works properly the screen lights up like a chrismas tree to tell you there is a stopped car.
