  1. but you would have to enter it as a std gtr as the n1 wasn't realesed till 1991(?) not that anyone runs the proper turbos anyway. if the rules are being changed, the 400r should be put into s1 mod level.
  2. well looks like Ben has made targa change the rules, category 7 has moved to early modern. I notice the Porsche guys didn't care when a 944 won classic, but you can't have a Nissan wrecking a Porsche 1-10 finish.
  3. 253-3 shows the design he uses. main hoop is empty, and the brace is in the back of the car (double brace in yt's case). reason he does it is so you can store your helmates and stuff in the back between stages. i'm not sure what the cams guys are like in other states. but ours live by those drawings, if you put extra bars in that are not in the drawings, the cage will be knocked back. eg... this cage has 2 diagonal baces instead of a solid bar in the main hoop...not in the cams manual, and gets knocked back (yt had to cut bars the same as that out of a rally car the other week, cause cams knocked it back)
  4. i thought the same thing at first, but have a look in the cams manual, you don't need anything in the main hoop. all of his cages are designed like this, and they all have passed.
  5. windows and doors removed packed up on the trailor ready to go to yt

  9. yes i'll have to notch the dash
  10. dropped the car off to yt last night for a cage. i would upload pics of the car with the doors and windows gone....but the pic upload is broken atm
  11. he's happy cause it gets my car out of the shed...and free's me up to now work on his r33
  12. really? bit smooth for mig isn't it
  13. just got off the phone to jason white. it's going in to get caged tomorrow night
  14. pretty sure it's tig.
  15. I agree, the motorsport builds should be in the motorsport section.
  16. YT just did a cage for us for a r33. looks like he got his design ideas from custom cages, cause they are very similar.
  17. just re-checked, it's x1.7 i'm looking at MCA (murray coote), Penske, and Bilstain PSS9 for shocks. A local guy in a tornan has MCA, and is building a new super torana and he's putting Penseke's in that, cause apparently the Penske dealer is easier to deal with, and takes your oppinion into account more. But i'm not rushing into that, as it not going to cheap eather way.
  18. that is corrected capasity. turbo = 1.4x capasity. as the r32 went from 1989 to 1993, you can nominate to run in eather classic or modern, as the cut off from classic 1990. you only get cought if somone protests you...unforinatuy classic porsche drivers are the only ones that don't care if they make themselvs look like bastdards by protesting. there were plenty of illigal cars on the podium this year at targa.
  19. you might need to read the rules closer and there wasn't any rb30's The series is R32, so you can run the GT-R kit. Not going to get any work done to it this weekend, helped damo get his car ready today for a track day tomorrow. but i've decided i'm now going to get jason white to make my cage, instead to getting a bond kit. Just got dad's r33 back from him, and he makes a nice cage
  20. ah no, rb24 isn't legal. the car is being built to aasa regs...which is pretty much the same as cams, but the car can be lighter, and have a big intercooler.
  21. oh we are, just thought i'd put it here so other people can get some insite. Don't worry, you be getting calls soon enough once it starts going back together
