Engine Build Options Rb24Ish, Vers 26/30
JKR-32 replied to Overnight Parts From Japan's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Rb bore sizes are the same for rb25/26/30 rb20's have a smaller bore champ. -
back on topic: That spool kit will easily hold the power you are chasing, provided it is put together by a competent engine builder. You may need some slightly bigger injectors though? Everything else looks fine to me though.
-
Power depends on turbo choice, along with other supporting mods (injectors, etc....) What exactly are you aiming for?

Standard Gtr Plenum Modification
JKR-32 replied to boostin31's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Negative sir. Longer runners for low down response and torque. Shorter runners for higher revving engines. An inch is a fair bit also. Say the runner is 4" long total and you take an inch off it. You effectively just removed 25% of the runner length.... (4" is just a guess, by the way, I have no idea how long they actually are) -
600hp target? I believe that a standard rb26 head will flow that... so shouldn't standard valves be fine? Why spend money if you don't need to?

Best Approach For Buying An Rb25Det Engine.
JKR-32 replied to EXEMPT's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Yea, I had a rb20 box behind the rb25 for a while whilst it was fairy standard, but swapped for a 25 box as soon as I could afford it. Didn't give it a hard time while the 20 box was in... -
Best Approach For Buying An Rb25Det Engine.
JKR-32 replied to EXEMPT's topic in Forced Induction Performance
yea, mine has a rb25 with a gt3076. In all honesty though, i feel the turbo is a little laggy for my liking. I may end up down sizing the turbo at some stage, or maybe just hunt down an externally gated .63 housing for it. That link was just an example, I'm not saying to buy it, I'm pretty sure I saw a a complete rb25 long motor for sale either here or boost cruising the other day for 1200, you would expect to pay anywhere from 1000-2000 for a decent condition engine. Totally worth while to have the extra cubes down low as well, much nicer to drive off boost then an rb20 -
Best Approach For Buying An Rb25Det Engine.
JKR-32 replied to EXEMPT's topic in Forced Induction Performance
just keep an eye on the for sale section, also call around the jap wreckers to see what they charge for a complete engine to give yourself something to reference to. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/358328-real-deal-rb25-setup/page__p__5725529__hl__rb25__fromsearch__1#entry5725529 -

Disconnecting/ Removing Turbo From 96 R33 Gts-T
JKR-32 replied to coolcat's topic in Forced Induction Performance
How many times has this question been covered recently? Try searching pal, then you will see all the others that have asked and been shot down for doing so. -
lol, only in the N/A section do so many silly questions like this one come up. I may have to start checking in here more often for the lulz
-
I would imagine the standard hydraulic lifters will pose a problem as well mate. You'll need to change to solid lifters. Which come standard in the rb26

If only the rep buttons were still there, that's a plus one Back on topic, I believe that donkeys are the diesel of the animal kingdom, Not huge power, but heaps of torque
-
No, I believe that all the high reading ones were in America.

This isn't a chicken dude, the head doesn't go crazy every time it takes a step

Yea, but higher Gallops per minute right?

Ahh... I re-read it. igedit

OT but: Frame and stem combo might be a a little short for pedal hopping and bouncing around on the back wheel, But it does sound like fun, man I miss my STP Zero I used to have Back on topic, if you haven't built many wheels before you're better off getting some who knows what they're doing to lace them up for you. A good wheel builder will put together a lot stronger wheel with the same parts then you could expect to do on your first try....

I'm curious, what is the intended riding of the bike going to be? And I disagree on rhyno's dinging easily, I ride trials and have been witness to a lot of rim punishment and they stand up quite well to what gets dished at them.

sun rhyno lite's would be a good option wouldn't they? And they aren't all that expensive from memory.
