Western Australia Stagea Get Together.
StealthX replied to chuckie's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
If you don't mind a random car coming along, I'd love to see how your Stag ended up Chuckie! -
Sure they do great for what they are! Get from A-B with good fuel economy, cheap to run etc...
-
Yeah grip is good. torque steer is just plain dangerous, wants to hunt for the other lane all the time haha
-
haha yeah true. 190kw at all 4 wheels is pretty intense regardless of the chassis. Makes it worse with the torque steer from hell lol

Sorry to disappoint, my car has a QR25DE and it's not a GT, but if it counts, the engine block is the only thing the separates a GT from a normal x-trail But yeah, it handles like a sack of shit hahah *buys coilovers*

fvcking lol!!

Take it from me man, look at my car. I get funny looks, some people like my car, some people hate my car, but nothing is better than fkn owning some bogan dickhead in a tryhard SS commodore, in something unexpected - my car has the power to eat most cars on the road and its pretty cool, especially from a soccer mum's car. Imagine how small a bogan v8 lover with his unit and southern cross stickers would feel after getting owned by an excel... As someone said before, don't touch the body and if you want it to be something half respectable, I would go for a turbo kit at a minimum and keep it stock appearance-wise. Get in touch with a decent workshop and talk to them about it. I'd suggest getting a decent ball bearing turbo, IIRC they are 1.6L 4 bangers, so nothing bigger than a 2871, and run light boost with an exhaust and fuel system to suit, but word of advice, it wont be cheap, nor easy, most stuff would need to be custom made...

Car/Engine: 2002 Nissan X-trail BNT30. QR25DE+T. Shitloads of mods. 2860 @ 12psi, FMIC, EMS Stinger, 3" exhaust, 440cc injectors etc... 190awkw. (255awhp) Petrol of Choice: Vortex 98. Whatever really, I don't get picky with brands, just as long as its 98 as that's what mine is tuned with. $ Per Tank: $65-$75 depending on how 'dry' I run it - X-trails have a 55L tank that I've never put more than 47L in. KM Per Tank: 350-400 or 11.5-13.5L/100km. Comments: Before it was turbo I was getting 10-11L/100km. The tune was done by Andrew @ Hyperdrive, with emphasis on economy and drive-ability (Heaps of response and a meaty midrange) I tend to drive in short trips in mostly light traffic (<10km), and I try not to drive very heavily, but boost is very addictive!! Tip: regardless of the car, boosted or not, the key is to reduce the engine's load. Load (throttle) and RPM are fuel economy's killers. more RPM = injectors firing more often, more load = injectors opening for longer. Reduce both of these and you have a winner!

Hey Greg, might be interested in a single hurricane and a rail, but i've gotta see if my x-trail has rails so suit and if not I'll see what ones can be modified the easiest... I'll let ya know... Ps is there anyway you can tell if my xtrail has rails that are similar to any other car, I.e. S15, r34 etc.?

Yep

I don't know for sure, but the max oil level is only to stop the oil rising too high, so with your 10mm adapter, you should be fine to add oil to the max level. You just have 10mm more depth to you oil pan now! Maybe have a looky at the RB30 dipstick and see if they reach down the same amount or if they are different.

f**k yeah... Why are young kids stepping straight off trainer wheels and into frekin GTRs!? Madness! Clearly they have very little respect for dangerous cars, I see it alot these days, driving on the road today, I saw a RED (first 6 months) P plater hanging a VY SS commodore sideways in the wet, he lost control in front of me and spun out, I stopped and gave him quite a verbal for it. In fact all cars are dangerous put in the wrong hands! Inexperienced drivers and fast RWD based cars are a BAD mix, young drivers need to learn in a sub 2L small car, not a top of the range Japanese (twin) turbo performance coupes!

That Video doesn't do that car justice, the noise of this thing bearing down the straight coming off Ford corner is insane. The screamer and induction noise is almost painful when standing near the track... stupidly quick car...

LOOKS SICK!! devo about the r34 in the last scene being auto though lol

lol, do you wanna reply to my post or just ignore a potential sale? -
Z32 ones come pretty cheap, compared to the $700 bucks you got quoted! Twin Z32 AFMs shouldn't set you back more than 500 bucks! pretty easy to wire in, and you'll need another tune...
-
fvcking lol martin! amazing burn!
-
LOL! Sorry man but you have no idea what you're doing... "the rest is not that hard" yeahhhh right, go slapping an RB30 block under a RB25 head and see where your pig of a low comp ratio gets you. I give the motor 5000kms before it shits itself. I doubt you'll get through the tuning. I don't think you realise how complex rebuilding an engine is and how involved tuning is mate. Why won't young p palters listen to more experienced folks!??

Dyno sheet or GTFO. My money's on you missing out a decimal point, i think youy'd be making more like 25.6 ALL WHEEL KW. Mate stock GTSs(R33 even) struggle to make over 100rwkw, what's so special about your now NA RB26 that it makes almost 3 times the power?

FVCKING LOL!!!! That's one of the funniest things I've ever seen/heard! THANKYOU!!

R34gtr Single Turbo Upgrade. Help!
StealthX replied to Specrzx's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I reckon a well sized gt35 would do pretty well, and If you have the big bucks to spend, a 2.8 or rb26/30 wod be VERY benificial to you. It sounds like you have silly amounts of money to spend if you are considering a rebuild/stroker kit. The single would prob end up being a cheaper option I'd say. If you want to make 500hp+ the stock manifolds and exhaust work will be useless so it's better to buy only one manifold/dump/exhaust rather than two for the gt-ss or 2860s. Not to mention the cost of the two turbos, two oil lines, four water lines, two oil drains etc... I.e. I doubt you could make 500hp on stock gear, so in terms of upgrades, it's better to only have one set of supporting mods rather than two... As for the v-band, the power gains are negligible, bit they are soo much easier to work with, everythng comes on and off in seconds, not to mention they look sex too! I'd recommend talking to Shaun at carmine mufflers in balcatta, his work on my car has been excellent, he knows his stuff! With your rebuild, a heap of people use n1 gear like the water pump and oil pump, maybe even go for the upgraded crank collar, cos everyone knows of RBs and their oil problems. For 500hp you'd want a decent pump or two, decent regulator and a set of ~600cc injectors... I can also vouch for Hyperdrive, andrew has taken care of almost everythng for my car, from the tuning, to a turbo selection even an emergency oil feed split! Listen to his advice and I'll be seriously suprised if you were to go wrong. good luck mate! -
You need a gun. For... the... pigeons... To ahh shoot them off my roof... (anyone seen Harry Brown???)
