  1. Nah havn't driven it yet 'cos the dump still needs to be modified to suit a 5 bolt, the old turbo was a 4 bolt. Plus it's not tuned for this new turbo yet... Should be fine (I hope) 'cos the guy at the exhaust place tapered the edges of the flange for better flow. I'll watch out for it though, good point...
  2. maybe your break rotors need machining...
  3. BUMP - oil cooler price drop - $65 posted anywhere in AUS...
  4. Stock they have 112kw at the fly, so about 80-90kw at the wheels. That was brand new out of the factory, so I doubt you'd be making more than 80wkw 20yrs later... RB30s are no different to any other NA motor, so anything that increases the basic needs of an engine is good (more air in = more fuel in = more power) As for what you can and can't do on your Ps, I havn't a clue, I live in WA... If I was going down an NA route, I'd be looking at a good free flowing exhaust (2.5" would be ok) including extractors. Then it can get VERY expensive quickly, you COULD go for an RB25 head, higher compression, fat cams, higher redline, and a gosh darn-off aggressive tune etc but it depends how much money you've got to throw around. But it would never be worth it, cos all that would result in eff all gains. Save your money and buy something with a better platform for power production when you're off your Ps. i.e. something big (>5L) or turbo... [edit] look at post no.7 (from gts-143) on that first link that TwoCents posted... That's a perfect example of a well done NA RB30 engine...
  5. yeah true, but even more strange how the Garrett flows almost 100hp more air! The big difference is obviously the centre housing and the compressor housing is heaps more chunkier!
  6. nawww I'm getting all emotional here! haha cheers fellas! More progress: test fit: water lines: manifold with new t25 flange: engine bay now: new vs. old: check out all the oil i found in the turbine housing of the old turbs: booked in @ hyperdrive for the 16th
  7. I'd love to help man, but I don't have much experience with the stock RB turbos... They are weird sizes tho, not like Garrett where everything is -3 or 14 x M1.5 Try taking the existing lines into a fittings place (some sorta specialised hardware store) and find flare fittings that match the ends of the stock lines.
  8. Yeah if it was me personally, I'd start at 20k, you can always drop it down if you're not getting any bites!
  9. Same sh!t man, 2 years won't make 5k difference in price... Unfortunately your car is auto, so that makes it a tad undesirable... Have a look on carsales and gauge your price decision on that... Most 34s there are going for 18-25 depending on trans, turbo or not, kms, condition etc...
  10. Yeah pretty accurate I'd say... But why the apostrophes? "GTR's" = GTRs. Plurals don't need apostrophes... haha jks just being a prick On topic, I reckon the new supra could even be a Lexus, as opposed to a Toyota. I'd LOVE to see a new supra, with a reincarnation of a JZ motor. A big power 6 with forced induction, not like their poor effort with the FT-86 (N/A 4 banger...) Subaru have it turbocharged and AWD, then toyota have it non-turbo and RWD. FAIL.
  11. I'm not 100% sure but i think that Garrett part number comes with an R32 (N1 model of course)
  12. woops yeah hahaha
  13. Yeah I'll add a spanner in the works and recommend Andrew @ Hyperdrive. No one else is touching my car. He's well priced, has good turn around and is well priced.
  14. I can't do Sunday bro, got work 'til 5. Give Ben (Kama) a holla, he's a heck of a lot closer to you too. Gimme a buzz if ya desperately can't find anyone. 0424438501
  15. I don't mind giving ya a hand. I've done a few stereos before, and like to think I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron... I can't guarantee I'm a guru, but I'll help ya out if ya want!
  16. Ok, seriously, is my car THAT hated by everyone or am I going crazy? I just had some guy (who will remain name-less for his sake - and because i have maturity) just PMd me, and said: (i quote) "you car is gay , im thinking of putting a turbo on my mums car as well ." (unquote) I didn't know my car was hated that much that someone would go out of their way to express that. And he owns a GTR too, no shit your car is better than mine, you don't have to exclaim it to the world.
  17. +1. For decent response, put in heaps of timing (still safely though), just as you're coming onto boost i.e. just as your coming out of vacuum, and the first few pounds of boost. Maybe make it a little on the rich side around those parts, to be ultra safe. Also put your stock BOV in for better between gear boost. And as Paul said, make sure you have a decent cold air intake and that your cooler piping is nice and short/unrestrictive. Do you have a wideband to check your airfuel ratios?
  18. Yeah my X-Trail had a dual mass flywheel on it, when I replaced it with a solid mass and heavy duty clutch, I noticed a tad more drivetrain noise... I'd say its normal bro.
  19. Man this looks amazing I bet you're proud! How much of a GTR is this? I see you have the front bar and grill, and obviously the 26, but have you put AWD running gear too or is it RWD? Well done mate! p.s. choice wheels too!
  20. bump - relocation kit sold, oil cooler for sale - $70.
  21. Check your signal lines are all going to the right places... Odds are you've got a hose going to/from the wrong place somewhere.
