  1. i find the people that drive the fast/nice cars that are relatively cheap to buy/modify and don't require much in the way of brain power (commodores, falcons SOME skylines - although ive never had a bad experience with a 'line driver) are the dickhead drivers... The expensive and rare cars (cressys, silvias, skylines to an extent of course, cefiros, vintage cars, or any car thats had alot of work/effort/care done to it) usually house the good, friendly, mature drivers...
  2. No pic from me, I own an x-trail Your service manual should tell ya what it looks like, check out the electronic section, more specifically, the fuses and relays. Should just be in your fuse box in the engine bay. Good luck man
  3. Check injector harness, ECU ground, fuses/relays and ECU plugs...
  4. As if, SAU = the goods, Boostcruising = shit.
  5. yeh now you mention it, it hasnt really stopped me lol its healed perfect, and ive bin drinking beer everytime i go out. i conned my girlfriend into getting it done too, even though they advise you not to kiss anyone for 3 weeks either. again that hasnt stopped us lol
  6. each to their own! but agreed, in a office job would make you a little out of place.
  7. stop talking about coronas!! fresh lip piercing = no beer or dairy for 3 weeks =
  8. off topic and just out of curiosity, which do ya think would happen first in the situation? blown motor or turbo? i got money on turbo, if were talking about stock ceramic ones.
  9. lived in Sorrento for 18 years. northern coastal suburb, mostly like scarbs/innaloo, no complaints absolutely love it. Northern and coastal is great IMO Pretty much anywhere near water (coast, river, lake) is a very tasteful suburb, no derros, low crime etc... good luck!
  10. wow thats alot of money! then again thats a VERY nice car. GL.
  11. IMO, choose your tuner before you chose your ECU. like John Hughes, "Choose you dealer before you choose your car! Absolutely."
  12. Truck Bits? I live in Perth so I'm pretty sure the place is a Melbournean place am i right? I've already found my spot to buy shit from (carline mufflers), just looking for some prices, thanks for the reply.
  13. Hey guys, as above, what's about right for buying stainless exhaust/IC piping? Last week I payed $275 for 3m of 3" stainless steel, 4 x 90deg bends, and 2 x flanges and gaskets stainless was $39/m and the bends were $25 each, that completely made up my exhaust system... That sound about right? Going by that, how much cheaper is mild steel over stainless usually? Looking to get mild steel 2.5" for the intercooler piping instead of stainless, cos its not under heat, and ill just paint it so I don't get any dirty rusting... Turbo X-trail should be driveable this weekend!!!!!!! :)
  14. well then redbook, nissan themselves, car folio etc say 1450kg. either way its close enough to 1.4 tons...
  15. yeh lol its pretty optimistic haha says im headed for mid 12s with 270whp. lol id be STOKED for anything nearing a 13!

  17. great sentence mate. id say about 180killerwasps.
  18. haha hey man! yeh she came up well! got it rebuilt few weeks ago just for kicks. its had a full once over, it looks pretty dardy now aye, bin on the car for a few days now, spools up good! Did ya find another turbo for your VL?
  19. yeh i know theres a guy in sydney with a GT pulls IIRC 211wkw, on 13psi i think. Doubtful it was manual, but i could be wrong. The QR does pretty good... exhaust and intake, and its up with most bigger cars (commos, falcons etc). Sentras in the US are quick cars, heaps of the done up ones care competing with WRXs and EVOs. Exhaust tomorro, will post bulk pics.
  20. A front cut x-trail GT goes for around 15k. There was a partially damaged one for 8.5k I saw running around in Japan but needed new bottom end bearings. Besides, the SR20VET that comes in the GTs doesn't really drop in to my X-trail at all, Its a huuuuuge job... They've got different transfer cases and gearboxes, plus they only came out in a CVT automatic and I don't want that at all. On top of that, the QR25DE 5sp doesn't bolt up to the SR motor, so a custom bellhousing would be needed ($$$), and there's not a chance in hell of finding a clutch that fits the QR, and input shaft of the SR... I know for a fact that the SR > non-GT x-trail conversion has never been tried, its almost physically impossible. But yeh, it'd be amazing if it would work! Thanks for the encouragement
  21. @ West: eBay mate... @ R34: im drilling a bulkhead into the upper oil pan, just above where the oil level is for the return, and the feed comes off an oil filter sandwich on the block. The gearboxes are pretty strong as far as i know. People give x-trails heaps of shit, but they are tough little 4wds. This has had some punishment from me offroad, and not once has it made any complaints. When i did the clutch and flywheel, i couldnt believe the sheer size and weight of the gearbox, so i cant imagine its weak. that said im still gonna take care of it, no clutch drops and gear snapping id say... There's a car in the US called a sentra, its got the same QR25DE motor, HEAPS of guys wack turbos on and not one has had a damaged gearbox yet. Unfortunately the conrods are the weak point of this drive line...
  22. IIRC the series 2 turbos can handle a bit more boost. Dunno where, but I definitely saw that somewhere. Still wouldn't go past 12 pound... With all that, you should be looking at about 180-220rwkw depending on the tune. If i were you, id be getting a tune, so you can really enjoy the benefits of the increased boost. [EDIT] my mate has a RB25 (series 2) in his patrol, and runs 12psi daily, no issues. He was at 15psi for a while, and that poor little turbo is still going fine...
  23. Pretty dam accurate theory if you ask me. Too many people try to over complicate things when it comes to turbo selection, IMO unless you really know whats going on in terms of advanced physics (in particular fluid dynamics), or your are looking to make bullshit power from a smallish motor, don't bother with the advanced stuff concerning sizes. Just use something that's bin tried and tested (GT2871r for SR20, T51r for 2JZ etc), and go from there.
