  1. You are on your own sorting this one out, placing the afm directly in front of the throttle body brings all sorts of issues into it. Either tow it to a tuner and hope they can sort it out, or go back to a stock design imo.
  2. That makes three yeh Craig?
  3. They might work fine on the stock map, but wind them up to maximum flow and all the flaws become evident. Internal gates have never been a great design and generally flow like crap, as well as upsetting the main exhaust flow through the turbo. BW has taken a step in the right direction with the efr but at nearly twice the length not many of us have the room for one. A hidden external gate off the housing is the best option imo.
  4. Who cares, another price gouge by Nissan aus. I try not to give them ANY of my money these days. Rude kents. I would rather run a drift filter.
  5. Apparently there is no requirement to pull over if they are behind you with lights on. If they pull up beside you and gesture, or pull in front with their indicator on and force you to stop you must. My mate tried this out, lulz were had. Female cop wasn't happy when he finally pulled over...
  6. What does it say on the build plate in the engine compartment?
  7. You guys don't wind back the K's, nooo, you simply change company names every few years. Nothing dodgy going on there... I know I got burned, hard.
  8. Mmm, love a parma... Might drop past for a yack.
  9. Location? Condition? I would want to see close up pics of the guttering. If you can't post up the basics to satisfy the 'for sale' rules this thread will be deleted quick smart.
  10. No, at the least you will need 20-30% larger injectors, or to bump the fuel pressure up a fair amount. Either way you won't get much in the way of power gains unless you can advance the timing, perhaps you could simply advance the timing using the CAS? It would be nowhere as smart or safe as fitting a standalone computer and getting a proper tune for it. I think you are barking up the wrong tree if you plan to do this for economy or fuel cost savings.
  11. There are 3 x 0.8mm restrictors between the oil pump and turbo on a VQ25det, I am guessing I would be more worried about large particle blockage than you. With finer filtration there is an increased chance of the filter medium blocking between changes, and bypassing all the oil without any filtration. The K+N air filters are proven performers, and work well to trap dust etc. The only reason they are crap imo is the oil mist they spray onto afm elements, I would have no issue running one on a map sensored car.
  12. Mine gained 4psi on the dyno with the hole blocked. What a waste of boost. It is there to help smoothen out the transition from boost to cruise, good tuning can help with this too, so the hole isn't really required. It is easy enough to try, as you can remove the grubscrew if you don't like it. (or drill a smaller hole through the grubscrew to fine tune the amount it bypasses)
  13. The noise barely changes as the stock airbox is designed to dampen it. With a pod? Then it would be loud... PM me for info, I don't want to upset the mods...
  14. Can do. I just made a 4 inch r33 intake with bov return, without the car here. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Scottys-Customs/448396628555747
  15. I run the Kompact, other than having no adjustment and needing to buy springs from Turbosmart for fine tuning the noises out, they are a very good product. Mine has been flawless for years.
  16. I hope they checked the timing with the light clamped to No.1 plug lead, not the loop wire...
  17. The body of the K+N filter is noticeably heavier gauge, it uses a better Oring seal, the non return valve I suspect is silicone, and the nut on the end is a godsend. I can see where my $18 has gone, compared to the $15 ryco which has obviously cost about 20c to make. Just my opinion, you are welcome to use whatever brand you like...
  18. With 3 times more fuel spraying in, what do you suspect will happen? The plugs will foul within 30 seconds of idling, if it even starts.
  19. I can make 4 inch intakes now, to suit a pod... You know you want one...
  20. Nice result from the factory housings Birds.
  21. Tap an M5 thread into the hole and grub screw it.
  22. Stock VQ25det engines run fairly high oil pressure, normally 8 bar on cold start with 10w40 just cruising. With some revs 10 bar is common. The pressure drops off quickly as the oil temp rises. I would normally run a thinner oil to help lower the pressures but a 0w30 makes the engine sound like a tractor. No Ryco hate, I use them for customer cars still, the quality of the K+N oil filters is much better, and the one inch nut on the end is very handy. They are only $5 more than the Ryco if you look around...
  23. I agree, I have had issues with drift filter non return valves leaking also, causing startup noise. I use the white K+N filters now, no problem at 10 bar oil pressure.
  24. I wouldn't use the cold side piping if it requires you to cut a hole. There are plenty of options that don't require you to make your car defectable. Where are you located?
