  1. Nice job, I have one of mine to do soon, thanks for showing me how. What boot kit did you use?
  2. Yes officer. I wouldn't worry too much about the fuel lines, just save up for teflon braided later. If you need injectors let me know, I can get some good discounts. What length can you fit under the plenum? The new Walbro 400lph pump is e85 specific and flows a stupid amount of fuel at high pressure (220lph at 86psi), the power wires are sealed and it should fit fine in the skyline tank. I will be recommending these for the ethanol guys now, should cost around $200 with local warranty.
  3. What intake are you using? It sounds like the bov return might be facing the wrong way causing air to flow back up towards the afm. The bov return needs to face the turbo compressor wheel.
  4. +1 It looks like a nice pump, sealed electrical connections, massive sock. I may end up with one myself... There is a united e85 pump in Frankston too apparently, and the Caltex ones on this site... http://www.ethanolanswers.com.au/ethanol/locator
  5. Is that list only the Caltex outlets? There are a lot more than that in Victoria anyway. BP and Shell have a vested interest in oil production, I believe they will never supply ethanol unless mandated by the government. Perhaps we should also ask why we can only run e85, why not e100 with an additive to stop consumption? That way there would be no legitimate reason to follow the petrol pricing structure... We need a lobby group.
  6. The internal gate can't keep up, you would probably need a 60mm external gate in order to safely keep the boost that low. Why don't you just get a tune and bump it up?
  7. You can't replace the rear wheel, it is attached to the shaft. By the time you replace all the seals and bushes and get it balanced you will be far beyond $500 I assume. Ring Stao (hypergear), he would be the cheapest around for a rebuild quote...
  8. Ouch. Garrett FTW.
  9. Just slap them in, 150,000 revs is nothing, they wont need balancing. lol. Just buy a new CHRA off egay.
  10. Here are some pics of the day.
  11. You could have had one Aaron if you could be bothered coming on the cruise...
  12. Good value considering the remote controlled motor setup too Birds. They do sound a bit tinny when mounted at the rear, like they have a sock shoved up the pipe. Probably best if you can get it fitted as a centre but there isn't much room there on a skyrine.
  13. Yeh, we both saw that, I was hoping to get out for another run myself before that ruined my chances. I love the way they let the Novice guys clean up the sawdust, it didn't seem to change the grip too much, just the confidence.
  14. It's worth it every time you press the quiet button on the remote. I can't believe how quiet mine is closed, almost stock noise level, not bad for a 3.5 inch muffler. Even open it's not too bad.
  15. You plumbed it back? I vividly remember doing it myself. lol. Most of the loud cars were just backing off before the bridge, obviously it didn't work.
  16. Not that you were in the car or anything ey Aaron... Bit scary having a rex crossed up in front of you, I nearly Tboned him. I guess he lost concentration having a Volvo whale pushing him. lol.
  17. The mufflers are around $400 as I remember, there are quite a few styles. Can you drop in some time so I can have a look Tony?
  18. Sounds like you need a bolt on muffler for these 75dB days, although a few of the cars running road systems still got done as I understand. I had a great time, ended up with a 2.03, not bad I thought for an 1800kg auto wagon with tune issues running old thrashed KU36's... When is the next track day?
  19. Where is that one mate?
  20. My first PI track day yesterday, I managed a 2.03 lap. Hoping to better it next time as the car was on low boost. I had a great time, hitting 250 up the straight was a blast. http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?21/07/2012.PHIL.S18.Y
  21. With a 3.5 inch system? You have to be kidding... Most of my customers want 300kw at least these days, with two free flowing mufflers. There aren't many on the market that cater for low noise along with the flow, especially in stainless.
  22. Just finished packing, managed to fit it all in with the seats down. Half my shed is in there... Track rims, 4 jerrys of e85, two helmets and a full toolkit. I had the 96 Dale, last of the good ol carbs. I tuned it myself, and managed to hit 280 on the straight at Sandown. I love that feeling, a little too much, which is why I had to give bikes away. For now, dont tell the missus...
  23. I have to get up at 5am tomorrow to head down, its the WRX event but 30 Nissans are going to gatecrash. I'm just down for Novice class to see how the car goes and learn some lines off the pro's. I have ridden over 300,000ks on road bikes over the years, 140 of that on a GSXR750, I even rode it to Brisbane and back. Sounded like a good idea at the time...
  24. If I know its that bad I can stay out of his way on the twisties. lol.
