  1. ^---- that is the truest of all. Other numbers, lap times. It's all just numbers. It's all just some kind of respresentation of some aspect of the car. You can think of the drag strip as either an "advanced dyno" or a reason to live.
  2. Drove paranoid as during dat arctic vortex. Standing water everywhere on bald NT05's with a fked alignment. Get dem ad08's on and aligned, car actually feels wildly better. Road also dry figure give it a squirt, car still feeling good aftermarket traction control working nicely hit a paddle on dat dere built auto of goodness problem is damn thing shifts so hard it breaks traction, even with no throttle input of course not expecting this (even though it does it every time I shift up at high rpm/load) slam on brakes and generally panic like a noob sliding 4 wheels towards kerb/BP entrance/potentially solid objects thank you, AD08Rs and dat dere BBK what do we say to the god of "Greg f**ks up shit as soon as its actually near perfect" not today
  3. Hey mate - There's quite a lot of rental places right on the ring that you can rent. I personally used RSRNurburg. All the prices are pretty similar (expensive!) but.... I mean you're there, you pay the money, you do it, and have fun, and then you can say you did it. Note: You don't need to rent the most amazing car to have fun there. I ended up doing it with the Clio RS with paddle shifters and had a blast. Mind you, it was in the middle of winter and -2C, so in such sketchy conditions a Prius would have been a massive handful!
  4. You have to do it through the lid. It's entirely possible. Just reach on in. To drop the tank you absolutely do need to drop the subframe... aaand in any case, you still have to go in through the lid. Source: Changed the pump in my car approximately seven million times.
  5. Coming from 245/275 Nitto NT05's 235/265 now Pilot Sport 3 fronts, AD08 rears. Did say I may track it, but he was more concerned i'd bin it driving in normal traffic or highway cruising. All tyres involved were a great deal, etc. Figured it'd be fine, if anything the PS3's should be more grippy than the AD08's, hence them being on the front of the car. But yeah. Slip angles apparently very different, told to take EXTREME caution, and I'd notice it within 5kms of driving the car if its gonna be a problem.
  6. Fitting AD08's to my car right now Got told the fronts (Michelin Pilot sport 3's) are a horrible match and almost certainly will result in me binning the car Greg issues occurring before even using them now
  7. I did the most recent one (wasn't 2013) and I finished up in the top right corner. I am the 0.000001%?
  8. I've vouched for Andrew many times from Kudos, it's pretty much where I go every time to buy a new Nissan part. ....which is often.
  9. Moh, my car is working.. it means the universe is shifting right around behind to f**k you in the ass instead of me right now.
  10. Fark..... Birds. hahahahhah
  11. Hi Folks I have a Garrett GTX3076R for sale. I bought it for my engine. It turns out that was a poor decision, and it was too small. It literally has gone on the car, to be run in, and tuned, to find out "ah f**k, this turbo is too small" So it's done like 5000kms. If that, really. Prob way less. It has no shaft play or defects of any kind. I'd say it's as good as new, but really it's better than new, because it's been tested and confirmed to work and will make an honest 400rwkw on a manual on E85. $1400, or tempt me with offers in PM!
  12. Hi. Selling R34 Brake Calipers and (somewhat rusty but probably machinable) Discs Note: These are 310mm fronts. 296mm rears. Note: They also have 14mm bolt holes. Note: You drill out whatever else to fit. They came off a Series 2 R34 which was in generally really good condition. The silver colour is actually from factory. Looking for $400!
  13. Right. Figured I'd bump this. Still have the following! Left and Right Front Guards $300 Bonnet + Latches etc $200 Reo Bar $200 (just the actual bar, not the headlight supports, unless you want free S2 headlight supports) Front Bar (series 2, headlight supports can be thrown in to fit it) $80 Front Plastic Guards for infront of Wheels (pair) $90 Front Wipers $40 Front Indicators (series 1) $40 Sedan Rear Lights $150 Radiator + Radiator Shroud $120, No leaks, works perfectly. R34 Front Strut Brace $40? Window Switches FOR A SEDAN - All 4 doors. $60 1 DIN Head Unit (Clarion, its blue.. it works... etc) $40 Climate Unit Computer thing and center surround - $80 Stock Front Sway Bar $30 VDO Digital Oil temperature gauge. 52mm. Works perfectly. $50 R34 Stock Turbo Triple gauges + plug $100? R34 Indicator Stalk $40 R34 AUTOMATIC clock spring $100 R34 AUTOMATIC dash cluster, 100,000ish kms. All works. $100? Everything rather negotiable. As in, really very negotiable. In Glen Waverley, VIC.
  14. Truthfully, get Scott to make one, and then alter your setup to make it fit right IFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF it doesn't. It will be far easier and a better solution to do it that way, and re-adjust your setup to fit the scotty pipe if there's some part that is out by 2mm here or there.
  15. I'm not saying it's not "an" issue. But it was a headline election promise to stop the boats. It may be a side effect of how little Australians genuinely have to worry about.
  16. http://www.factsfightback.org.au/does-australia-take-the-most-refugees-check-the-facts/ The numbers are out there. We're not the worst, but we aren't exactly a humanitarian open the floodgates, bring in your sick, poor and frightened beacon of welcoming respite for those in need.
  17. "dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries" Our staunch resistance to immigration makes other people view us as Xenophobic, when nearly every other country in the world takes widly more refugees/immigrants/boat people and it's not an issue (or not nearly as big an issue) for those respective governments. We kick up a huge stink over what most would consider an absolute non-issue.
  18. Australia is notoriously tight assed when it comes to taking in refugees and ahem, boat people. Like wildly so. We're really Xenophobic by comparison. It's one of the biggest beat-ups in Politics, it's right up there with running two intake mods murdering small children according to ACA
  19. I specifically bought them thinking I'd get that much wear out of them. Got dat alignment multiple times in that time frame for any change to make sure they last the distance they just..... didn't
  20. but but... I got 7500kms on my NT05's driving like a pansy...
  21. Why? (srs question) Longevity? The NT05's are just touching the indicators in the center now, on the sides there's maaarginally more, but barely enough to catch a fingernail on. Where else to go for alignment duties? TT always been nice to me, but heard a few things now...
  22. Nah, ever since I got the rears put in, I noticed it felt really tail... 'rolly' as though the weight balance was 99% front, all the time. But I supplied the struts and springs to TT, as they came off the old car. But stupid me didn't really think about the fact that while the fronts came off my old car, the rears struts were swapped, so the setting for rear height was lost when that happened. Did give them ride heights but as they (TT) figured they were swapping from one car to another they didn't need adjusting. I had no idea the front sway was basically removed from the car via kinetic force. If it all gets fixed up and it still feels weird then I dunno. Car didn't have that behaviour on the springs it initially came with, nor did my old car with the exact same setup. but I'll probably blow my engine up again between now and when its time for another alignment
  23. Working side (for reference): Damaged side (for lulz): Note: I did not notice this occur. It happened some time after traction tyres installed the castor arms and replaced inner tie rods.
  24. This is a new shell. Yes I meant the hankook RS3 sorry. If they are equiv, and $250 a tyre, well.. that's some coin saved. re: My suspension I hit a kerb, hard. Damaging a wheel, and bending a tie rod end. Got that fixed and wheel repaired and new castor arms. all good. Went under car, noticed the bracket I don't know the name of (what the front sway bar bolts to) has literally snapped off in half. So that's nice. No idea when that happened. I also asked TT to set my ride height at 350FR and 345R height. It felt floaty as FAAARK in the rear and I just blamed it on hicas till I actually measured the car and found the front is 330mm and the rear is 368mm. So yeah....
