But it will make it handle properly. Going too low severely compromises the suspension geometry on Skylines. Looks <<<<<<Performance

Mate, if you have enough you'll realise you don't have to look like a dill and tell everyone how much you have. LTHLRB give Robbie and Dan my best next time you catch up mate.
-
Mel I think I'll be there, make it +1 Geoff

*sAfrican Americans at Hibino having just enough money to have to tell people about it.........* The good thing about differing opinions is that we don't have to all drive the same things.

Rb26 Inlet Manifold And Adaptation To Rb25 Heads .
GTRgeoff replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Adz, what size huffer you using mate? All indications are the 20 won't pull enough air through so keen to know the performance on yours, especially at low boost, part throttle, low rpm. Good one BTW -
Matt jump on the forums in my sig too mate. We are always catching up. 4 of us went to the Nostalgia drags a couple of weeks ago to enjoy the old school muscle so we aren't exactly Jap Taxis only

I'll have a ticket on board the SS Bentley Brooklands. It will go nicely with the Monte Cristo No 2 and the Magnum of Shiraz I picked up Yesterday.

Love your style Noel. I love seeing the C17's hanging in the air so close above us. Maybe we need to visit auld baggage and confide just how much worse things could be

Where did you hear that rot??? Look in the thread below. Maybe you will find something I haven't. The stock oil pump is as good as you will need. Just make sure the pump drive is a later model, not an early one. And keep the GTR sump and remove the diff. It holds no oil for the sump. Do fit a filter relocator and cooler and add about 1 litre extra if you go to the track. Also, while the sump is off fit a gated oil collector around the pickup. All the accessories will fit but the harmonic balancer on the gtr has different drive pulleys, so get a good after market RB25 one from one of the traders. They all use the same crank nose so it will fit.

Pfft. Of course you wanna walk in on sexy times. Andy makes most of the guys in the club go weak at the knees. Shan, you may as well cut you wedding veg out and get a Mac if your that limp about security mate /short response to keep everyones attention span/

Hmmm, lots of opinion here. Trying to compare with Skylines and Euro cars. To be honest I find my BA XR8 ute a decent enough cruiser, auto so great for towing a decent load like the race car and boat but certainly no comparison with the GTR for handling or performance. In fact I compared my GTR in the current improved form to a number of supercars I've recently driven 2000kms each and found it the standout against them so no local made POS is going to come close. The improvement needed over BA alone would be so huge as to be insurmountable. This Orion doesn't move me, and the FPV models with huge slabs of pointless grey plastic on the fronts is ugly. The VE Commodore is even more dissapointing especially the thing with hideous plastic moulded rubbish attached on the bonnet and guards. But as the old saying goes. "You can't polish a turd"

My GTS25t race car has a 26 head on 30 blockwin turbos, GTR inlet and t I use a GTS25t power FC, GTS25t temp sensor, single AFM, resistor pack and low impedence injectors. Otherwise it's all RB25DET connections.

Re-torquing Head Gasket On Rb26... Help!
GTRgeoff replied to Antimatter's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
After the gasket is compressed, retorquing should only be a slight backoff and retourque. since you have the head off then look at the valve seats, down the bores, under the head in the squish zones for damage. If nothing needs to be done get a competic metal gasket and put it back together with new head bolts if any of them are different lengths. -
I'm available for reasonably priced discussions with unreasonable locals.......

Brad, keep a set of CP RB30 9:1 pistons and Spool rods for me. Through sheer luck a 26 head and intake manifold dropped into my lap so I might as well build another and offer someone the gift of 26/30 goodness.

Welcome to the fold bro. There are ways to get good value for money power. I prefer to build my own engines, the last being a 700hp 3.0L with 26 head that came in for just under $5K in my race car (GTS25t but twin turbo). My GTR does 500hp as a daily driver and I will kick that up to 600hp at the next tune. Parts were 3K for the computer, turbos and injectors. Good handling in a GTR is only $2500 away as well and given a GTR33 can be had for less than 25K that is good value, especially considering the Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Audi RS4 I've driven recently all don't compare as an all round performer. That is 1.4Mill worth of comparison and I'd keep the GTR anyday and flog off the others if they were a freebie.

Most people haven't even heard of Skype it's still so new. But for us former executive management types it's perfect. Calls are cheap as well to mobiles and landlines. I just had a half hour video call with a mate in Melbourne. Free as an VOIP phone with video. I even have it on my E65 through an app called Fring that allows me to take VOIP calls in a wireless node like I have at home. IM on the other hand is complete rubbish and I shudder at the number of people that have had virus infections through it. And I remember IM and ICQ from when I was in Uni in 96. But if cool means using the stuff all the semi-IT literates use then yep, I must be uncool.

No bloatware on my machine. I custom install and accept none of the crap. Better than IM virusware.

Nick, not exactly the GC but I have read recently there are a lot of jobs in the auto industry here in Ipswich. Apprentices are most wanted. Last year awarded the worlds most liveable large town or some such. 3 race tracks in 1 hour drive (Lakeside about to reopen). Cheaper rent and actually not a bad place. I wasn't wanting to move to this area when I came home from Melbourne but I'm finding it good.

PS only poofs drink gold. Black label Castlemaine for me.

R33 Rear Cradle Swap?
GTRgeoff replied to black_gtst's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have never seen a non-hicas 33 rear end, I don't believe it exists. I think huddy is sniffing too much rubber smoke. No way a lock bar will damage the rear ball joints. I recommend NV NO1 for a HICAS lock. Cheap, well made and very robust. -
Bargain Oil Coolers... Thoughts Guys?
GTRgeoff replied to Antimatter's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I had the tank on one of the ones listed in the first post blow out starting up on a cool morning in Melb. I won't use a cheap cooler again. No damage but plenty of oil lost. The rest of the kit was fine. -
James all the best mate just keep being Jamezilla. Sorry for the late reply. No gift, sorry. You can't buy anything for someone who literally has everything a guy could possibly want......
