  1. Actually, in racing situations, a lot of the time cars wont down change unless they are sequencial gearboxes. The car's are set up to brake with the braking balance, and adding the engine into that upsets the balance. A V8 supercar will brake to the required speed, pick the appropriate gear for that speed then accelerate. This was tought to me by professional race driver. Rally and F1 will downchange through the gears but only because they have to.
  2. I can't even get the material cut for that much, let alone bent also.
  3. I love jig work. Isn't it good when you design a job that makes it so easy every time to make stuff. That's what I'm doing with my AFT to TURBO ducts this weekend. BASS OUT
  4. You could try with the dint. Maybe you might have to give the panel beaters a little bit more money to do it. But if you speak to them nicely then maybe. Maybe you could prepare the dint for spraying to save yourself some money either way. Any sleeper is a good sleeper. I like the sleeper idea, but it's a bit hard to pull off in my car!
  5. Okay people..... We have a serious problem. Aussiewheels.com There is currently a bloody rex above me, because some bugger has voted me down. There are two skylines in the top two positions, and now I'm in fourth. Look! http://www.aussiewheels.com/profile/index.php This cannot happen. That rex must be put in it's place. Please vote me up. I won't do this group buy before I hit the top of the list at least once. Let rally together and put three skylines on the top of the ranks. BASS OUT
  6. Should also puch for a full polish all over the car otherwise it will be easy to tell that the car has just been fixed on the front. I always push for that, because you want your car to age at the same rate all over the car.
  7. Okay. So it looks ot me like you will need: New front bumper. Grill. Eyebrow thinigies Two headlights (as they replace both at a good panel beaters because the ohter one will be a different colour otherwise. Indicator. Your quarter panel will be sctratched from the front bar hitting it. You've got a repair bill there of about 2 or 3 grand. Remove and Refit 6 seperate items. Prepare quarter panel, front of bonnet and all around frontal area in frotnn of bonnet and around bumper. Colour blend to match rest of car and oven bake. There's no way he could have come close to fixing it himself. BASS OUT
  8. I was wondering the same thing.
  9. It worked dude. It's funny how some cars required little modifications, and some didn't. Damn mass production of vehicles!
  10. What is that thingy and what does it do?
  11. Nope. Do a search for my thread where I spent $600 for zero gain. Don't try Cam gears on a R34GTT
  12. Okay, just had a pressure gauge on the line. Car primes to about 50psi, then when it starts it stay up at 50psi for about 15 seconds. Then it drops back to abuot 35psi. Then when driving around, the pressure rises as it should with boost. My mechanic says that they have a two stage pressure function. Seems to make sence as when I change gear and the car starts to spool (mind you, I'm hardly on the throttle at all) the guage drops back a few psi and then flicks up again to about 45psi. Is this normal? Could my pneumatic boost control be playing havoc with the fuel pressure? BASS OUT
  13. Has he adjusted the base timing to suit?
  14. I own from the firewall forward. $500 more each month though. And at the end, I have to buy the rear end.
  15. If you need panel beating then at least two days. One day to prepare the panel and possibly spray. Several hours to bake One day to clean up afterwards. Post a pic of the damage...
  16. On the bill that Amex will give to the dodgy c*nts will be your car hire from Budget or whoever. Can't be without your car for any period of time. It's needed to go you to work and back!
  17. Make sure you also ask for a hire car whilst your car is being fixed. That really pisses people off, and theres nothing they can do about it!
  18. See five posts up
  19. Don't even think about threatening him or sending false documents. In a situation where it could end up (not likely though) in a legal battle, any false documents or things like that will work against you hard core. Brunswik aint far from heidleberg Just take it there
  20. That's the one. They fixed my Girlfriends 99 VW Golf. the work was absolutly perfect. I have plenty of fixed done on plenty of cars, and every time I have had to take the car back for this or that, and Amex have been the only time that the repair was right first time. I'd recommend them. BASS OUT
  21. The Amex people wont charge you a thing. They charge the person who hit you a fee for recovering the debt.
  22. I'm going to get them made as soon as I can. I'm going to have to pull my car apart this weekend on Saturday morning and have the guys at my work help me out to make up a jig of where the Turbo inlet snout and AFM pipe sit, then supply that to the fabricator so that they can make up a sample. Then I have to test that sample to see whether it will fit on an R33 and R32, and if anybody has a Stagea in Melbourne, one of them too. them all being well and they are all the same, put them into production. This could take a few weeks yet.
