  1. Haha nice! I'm not in that position at the moment, but would like to be one day. Good point though, MUST clearly label everything. It's all a bit different when the car is needed though.
  2. Would he have to serve as #2 there as well?
  3. +1 From my understanding oil can also smell burnt if it has been in there for too long. When you smell the burnt oil it is no longer efficiently lubrication the engine components.
  4. I look forward to doing this type of repair, learning how to do it all. As long as it can sit in the garage for months while I learn and relearn how to do it that is haha
  5. You're not kidding there mate *shakes head* Let us know how it goes, good tuner's seem to solve all the problems Good luck!
  6. That's very interesting, how does the tune depend on the oil? Like what are the changes in tune for different oils? Also what did you mean by the 300v mixing, as in it can't be mixed with other oils? Or other 300v's?
  7. Hahahahaha that's hilarious, when I saw the preview in my email I'm like "wtf did I say to this guy?!". Not laughing at you mate, I've read the term "rich and retard" so many times and never once like that hahaha. No need to get aggressive on the forums though mate, it's all just good fun. If you stick round long enough you'll probably get a lot more shit than that for doing absolutely nothing, some people just love the excuse of being anonymous to abuse people. I'll elaborate a bit more, but I'm FAR from an expert. The r33's seem to hit rich and retard, where the engine goes into safety mode, easily when the engine has some extra boost added. The boost level seems to change depending on the car (and weather etc, cold dense air often triggers it), and no idea why but most of the posts I've read have it happening on r33's. Maybe have a search for rich and retard or low boost or something? It comes up fairly regularly on sau. That's assuming it's an ecu cut issue. Take it easy though, don't thrash it till you've got it figured out or something might go pop.
  8. ^There you go OP. Still worth replacing your sender though IMO.
  9. Find a tuner recommended on here, mrc and unigroup tend to get good reps from what ive read, just have a quick search. Then give them all a call. If the most recommended tuners all suggest the ecu then you're set, if not read about them and go with their choice.
  10. Wow, what a race! Despite rules and regs trying to ruin it as usual! So glad to see JB win and hamilton get reminded that going for every gap gets a good percentage of wall, Button had no reason to yield to him. Vettel must be happy, overall he extended his lead over his main rivals, who didn't finish. Now he's on 161 points, with JB on second 101. He just needs a few DNF's and this championship will be interesting again. So sad that the fia do everything possible to fk the good races. Still a bit dirty about being robbed monaco quali and gp finale's.
  11. Different additives are used to achieve the 10w40, other than that they're probably both quite similar, aimed at similar markets. Were they going to scrap the 8100 xcess? I thought the xmax was released as just another product, not a replacement.
  12. Ecu hitting rich and retard maybe?
  13. Most questions are covered in the last 10-20 pages, or you can search within this thread. I'd be using 4100 turbolight, or some similarly cheap(ish) yet recommended semi-synth.
  14. The car can't boost less than the wastegate actuator is set, and though there's plenty of debate on these forums about that my gtt's one was set at 7psi exactly when I removed the stock boost solenoid from the circuit. Perhaps that is extra boost? Is it even connected?
  15. The poor families having to sort that out while dealing with grief/shock/terror etc... I feel so sorry for them. Glad to hear aaron's improving! Edit: (Haven't met him but people speak highly of him and I'm yet to meet a bad saunsw bloke/gal)
  16. I like Brundle and Coulthard. They bring intimate knowledge of driving, the tracks and the rules for some good commentary. It must be annoying for them to have to constantly cater to the newest f1 fans though when it comes to explaining things. Monaco track seems to have not only bumps but things like manhole covers and drains (or things that look like them) all over it. Imagine trying to brake under 4-5 G's then sliding across them. It's a prestigious track but it begs for some big crashes.
  17. It really is tragic. Hoping for a quick recovery for those in hospital and thoughts are going to the loved ones whose family member won't come home.
  18. Brundle, M & Coulthard, D. 2011. Monaco Grand Prix Commentary. BBC. Monte Carlo.
  19. Trailer has just been sold. Still selling the helmet, Kartech suit, ERG neck protector, Freem rib protector, AMB transponder and Bridgestone tyres. They're up on ebay at the moment. Not sure if I can post links but a quick search should reveal them (PM me if not and I'll send you a link). Cheers!
  20. In case anyone is watching this, the newer thread is here. Trailer is now sold. The rest of the gear is up on ebay.
  21. Is canada the track with the loose, breaking down track surface? If so that'll absolutely smash the tyres
  22. There's also 54 billion chickens in the world
  23. As above, we all hope he recovers quickly. Hope you're doing okay too Blitz
  24. Terrible conditions on slippery roads. Thoughts to the families, poor guys were probably just trying to get home from work.
