  1. Hehe Craig and others would remember my 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear mini-doriftos when changing gears in the wet .... the car gives a healthy sideways kick every time!
  2. yep I'd be in on that too Craig! Day time cruises are heaps better imo - for one it's easier to see the fuzz
  3. N/A what could we have done to make the cruise more fun? .... go for a belt in the hills in the rain, or go faster when we saw like 5 different cop cars in about a 20km trip? I had plenty of little runs, so I don't know what your mate was doing. But as always, no rain makes for much better routes and speeds - roll on summer I say!
  4. thanks from me too .... I'll only c u guys at the late cruise though cos I'm goin go-karting with the PSI folk.
  5. ummm me? You must be mistaken
  6. Matt's 540s are still wicked - I have actually bought them off him now .... I wanna hold on to them for special nights out I actually did 7 runs on my normal street tyres and only 4 on the RE540s. Cos the track was so damn slippery it was really hard to do a good looking smoking burnout, and it didn't do much to the tyres (which is kind of an upside I suppose). At least I got a few good comments from the commentators about my burnouts. I was spewing that every time I ran a clapped-out celica or the supercharged Monaro, they would rave about the other cars and say crap all about me. I got close to the time of 12.375 required to get into the Australian top 10 fastest rwd cars under 2.4litres and they never once complimented me on my times *sniffle*
  7. I think technically you must have a roll bar if you have a convertible - period. I think I read that on the discalimer somewhere. I am amazed they didn't pick you up at scrutineering. I am not positive though.
  8. These pictures make me squirm in my seat. Ouch!!! http://www.pbase.com/image/18250417 How do you say "dorifto into a pole "
  9. Nah I haven't had any probs at all .... it has only gone a bit soft on me on 2 occassions, and that was when I was being WAY too hard on it. It was perfect last night (wish I could say the same for my gearbox - damn second gear *rev *crunch *cruch *rev *crunch *ahhh now I got it - lol@me). For everyones enjoyment here are some vids of my drags (click here) .... most are about 3-4Mb, sorry to the dialup people.
  10. hehe yeah, sweeping generalisations aside. I know who is sensible, and who is not, and more importantly, when those that normally are sensible aren't being sensible to steer clear of them (*cough* Matty doing unintended 360s on Main North Road *cough*). Ummm is that clear as mud? I know I am a very bad one to preach - but I like to think even when things go wrong I still have a pretty good idea what to and not to do.
  11. How come I didn't see you there Miss*33? Or did I speak with you? All that adrenaline and too many faces .... I think the slippery track was helping you 32zilla, as you didn't bog down (for a change). The other drag meets I've seen you race at you got too much traction, which is ok if you have enough revs, but bad if don't (then you bog down). Whereas last night it was so slippery that you got a little bit of wheel spin, so it didn't bog. But later on in the run you would've still been slipping a tad on gearchanges which affected your times. (Well that's my thoughts anyhow). But I was doing 3rd and sometimes 4th gearies - that's how slippery the track was. I think they didn't clean it properly, and there was certainly no VHT past the start line (and only a tiny bit on there). The other issue is that on street meets the proper drag cars lay plenty of rubber on the track, which gives us grip later in the night. Obviously that didn't happen last night.
  12. Yep, I'm allergic to P-plater ****wits in VL commodores doing burnouts at the sart/meet points and playing silly buggers weaving in and out of traffic/speeding etc too. The likelyhood of one of them sideswiping me are vastly greater than if I was on an SAU cruise. And don't get me started about being stuck behind low-powered bombs going through the hills, where they stay near the centre line and won't let you pass, speed up for straights etc. I think everyone has a right to go cruising, but when you mix high performance cars like most of ours, with lower performance n/a cars like most of PF etc. ppl, then you are asking for trouble, as we have different capabilities and attitudes. Also note that the majority of SAU ppl are older and have way more driving experience, so are less likely to do something stupid (and lose control) and take a heap of ppl out. I don't think I have ever been on a PF or 4,6 and rotor cruise where no-one has had an accident, and I remember last year a Supra ended up having a head-on and an Excel rolled on the same cruise. These were both P-platers if I remember correctly. /end rant
  13. Thanks everyone It's nice to finally be in GTR territory! Also interesting to note: at the last street meet Henry (Brute) was running 12.7s and this meet he could only do low 13s, cos the track was so slippery. I wonder if the track was prepared better if I could have run a bit faster. There's always next time.
  14. My mods: Bought car 114rwkw Phase 1: Trust Power Extreme II cat-back zorst, s&B pod intake with custom heat shield, free boost upgrade, various electronic gizmos and guages, doof ddof system etc. 158rwkw Blew my clutch 1st drag meet I went to at AIR, replaced with Exedy organic single plate heavy duty clutch. Phase 2: Flying Performance front/dump pipe, Catco high flow 3" cat. 177rwkw Phase 3: Unichip piggy-back ECU, HKS 555cc injectors, Bosch 040 fuel pump, Hybrid front mount intercooler, turbo boost bleed valve set to 14psi. 185rwkw but with massive torque and mid-range gains. Phase 4: upped boost to 15psi 195rwkw I also have a Greddy ProfecB ebc currently being replaced (was faulty), and am trying to source a Z32 afm to replace the choking stock afm. Then I will be a bit over 200rwkw, and hope to crack a 12.5 second 1/4 mile, then I'm done modifying. (Well that's the plan anyhow). Your S2000 goes very hard - it's a pity you can't get traction! There's always next time.
  15. I wish - not really on the street though - cos they have that 4 wheel drive grip that S15 aren't renowned for Mind you, if Pawley was game, I'd line him up on the street to see it in practise hint hint
  16. my best was a 12.74 @ 109mph Matty, with your 540's on the back With my normal street tyres on my best was 12.97 @ 109mph Damn those 540's are sticky! I did 11 runs all up, I think it was 7 with my normal tyres and 4 with the 540s (didn't dring my slips in from the car and am too lazy/buggered to go get them) then they closed the night down at 10pm. Unfortunately I was just getting the hang of the 540s when we had to stop In fact my last run I did a 1.82 second 60' time, which was by far the best of the night on the poorly-prepared track. On my best run of 12.74 I did a 1.94 60' time, so it goes to show there is plenty left in the beast yet! Also very interesting was the fact that early in the night I did some runs on my normal tyres, where I had ordinary starts with lots of wheel spin, often missing 2nd gear (as usual - my gearbox hates me) yet I was doing 110mph terminal speed with shocking starts. Anyways, when my boost controller situation is sorted and maybe the addition of a Z32 afm, I hope to put 12.5s to bed at a future meet, then I will be happy! It was great to see a lot of you guys out there! Fyi members that attended were: me, chops, Diggity, Boostd, 9krpm, Busky2K, Cheeky, Her200SX, Maxx, 32godzilla and heaps of other lads (and gals) from ClubPSI and ns.com including SpecS15, S13_Han, Flygirl, and tons of others. It was a great night of racing!!
  17. To anyone coming (and I hope that is ALL of you!!) I am going to try to get there fairly early so I can get a spot on the lawns in the pit area (I might even try to get an undercover space - I think they are still there). Look out for me and come pit with me - or just come say hi!!
  18. Me too Joel ... I had to go for a dual 64k digital ISDN for now - talk about expensive!! I bought a DOV modem so now the calls are untimed, but it is still very expensive compared to (the MUCH bettter) DSL and cable Apparently Tel$uck are implementing mini-mux's into some RIM exchanges, that will allow a limited number of DSL connections - I wish they would hurry up and do it!!!
  19. W2K is da bomb - I give it heaps of crap all day long and my PC never crashes .... but when I had XP uuuuuuurrrrrrggggghhhhh it is a bloody pig if you ever want to change hardware devices and/or drivers!!!
  20. Yeah it's false advertising atm on Fresh, cos it explicitly advertises no V8s. Oh well, we'll kick their sorry asses anyhow - no harm in a bit of friendly LS1 bashing
  21. omg that is fantastic for the laziest drivers in the world!!
  22. Hey, good to see you here Leo (It's PCOTY btw)
  23. I believe gates open at 5pm, racing starts at 6pm. I hear rain may be forecast, but you never know. I think it is $17 to spectate - about what you pay for a movie, but with MUCH more excitement!!

  25. Yeah we gave it a bash yesterday - only did a hp run though - too hard to find enough cop-free road to get up to the 170km/h or so needed to do a 1/4 mile. Anyhow, the hp came in at around 220hp (160rwkw), but this is low. It was done on a bumpy piece of road, I lost some traction and I think the bumps messed with the figure. Check out my dynos here and the one with torque figure here. The red figure is the pre-latest mods and blue is current. While the peak power figure hasn't gone up that much, the mid-range torque and power gains are excellent. Note too, that at afr's of around 11:1, it is a conservative tune, with plenty left in it. However, I don't want to blow up my engine, so I can run it at this figure all day without risk. Hope to catch you all at AIR next Wednesday - it is going to be a massive night, with some nice cars heading out from NS.com and PSI too! The best bit - NO V8s or slicks .... only true 4 & 6 cyl street cars!!
