  1. Yerp I'll be there to try out my new power .... 195rwkw @ 15psi ..... hoping for high 12s. Thanks in advance to MattyR for the lend of his FM901's
  2. Glad to hear it mate - yes it is a real bargain!! Hiep, I had my cat and dump pipe put in the other week by Profix at Klemzig and it cost $380 (that included them wrapping the dump pipe with exhaust wrap that I provided, and changing over the studs and nuts for stainless.) Expensive stuff!
  3. hope David's exhaust treats you well Duc .... get ready for the almighty RUMBLE!!
  4. Hey Matty, all of my bits are now in, but it's not finished .... the ProfecB I bought (ex-Japan) doesn't work properly, so they put in a cheap bleed valve and set the boost to 14psi. I am also dropping spark for some reason, so she is not running the best when I boot it. Power came up at 185rwkw, but with a very healthy mid-range kick in the pants .... and it holds peak power a lot longer and gets there much earlier! Check out my dynos Here - the first one is the current power, the second graph is the difference between pre-front/dump pipe (& cat) and after, the third is [purely with zorst, free boost upgrade and intake, the fourth pic is of my 13.33 pb AIR run and the last dyno is from the RPM Club PSI dyno shootout yesterday. We'll have to catch up next weekend and I'll take ya for a quiet drive in the hills
  5. As I said on Friday, congrats on the sales John - and let's hope they can get Drifty finished soon so you can actually have a turbo car to drive In the meantime I'm sure Erica will let you take her beast out for a drive (= thrash) every now and then
  6. hey Mark, sorry I haven't replied to your email or PM yet, I just logged on. Sorry it has been sold.
  7. I think they only make one atmo model Dean. See pic attached. If you (or your mate) want a MP3 of how it sounds let me know and I'll email it to you. Check out pics of the BOV and other stuff for sale at http://photos.yahoo.com/andnus2002 and go to the 'Stuff For Sale' folder.

  9. I haven't got it back yet .... they encountered a few installation problems with my gear and I'm going to pick it up tomorrow morning. I picked up the Unichip second hand for $700 (EDIT: that $700 includes boost controller which is worth around $200 {or $400 new}), and they reckon it will be about $500 to fit and tune (haven't got the bill yet). I think they are about $1,200 new (plus fit and tune).
  10. Chapman, I bought a Unichip ECU for my toy .... and Turbo Tune are the only mob who can tune it! I pick the beast up tomorrow night - it has spent a couple of days there already.
  11. They have bags of them at Adelaide Jap Dismantlers (Jacobsen Crs, Holden Hill) ... I think they are something like $20.
  12. No idea Hiep, I just know it is the 3" one. And no I didn't gut it .... that would be illegal Nah truly I didn't, I had them make me a 'racing cat' instead - 3" straight through pipe that bolts on as a replacement if I wanna shoot some flames at the drags
  13. Put me down for a hat too!
  14. Hi, I recently bought these items from Flying Performance (for my S15/200SX) and want to share my review with you. It goes something like this: 1 month ago: bought a Flying combo front/dump pipe for $230, Catco 3" High Flow Cat for $250 and heat wrap to suit. Last Tuesday: had a dyno done at Tillbrooks (here in Adelaide btw) and I pulled 162rwkw Last Thursday: had dump pipe and cat fitted, and dump pipe heat wrapped. Also changed over studs and nuts to stainless steel. (Cost $380 all up). Yesterday: went back to Tillbrooks and had a dyno at 177rwkw. So my car was identical other than the new items, similar weather and same dyno. The result, a net 15rwkw gain (assuming dyno accuracy). They did a number of runs each time and the result was consistent. I have a 2001 S15 with basic mods comprising Trust Power Extreme II cat-back zorst, S&B Pod Intake, Custom heat shield and free boost upgrade. Other items include Exedy Organic Single Plate Clutch and I use Motul Excess 8100 5W40 oil with Uniglide FRC in the engine and diff (from Trent at Mercury Motorsport - works great thanks Trent!!!) and Light Shockproof Gear oil in my box. Another guy had his S15 done at Tilbrooks with FMIC, zorst, intake and Blitz EBC and made 180rwkw (the week before on the same dyno), so I can't figure out why mine is pulling so much!! I am obviously very happy though! Anyways I have a whole heap of toys going in next week so the number will increase dramtically, but I thought others might appreciate the info on the cheap dump pipe and cat at this power level. I highly recommend them!! I wish I could scan in the dyno sheet, as it shows not only greater power, but a healthy torque improvement and massive mid-range power gains! Note too that it is running at a bit under 11 afr which is quite rich. Andrew
  15. Yeah, when I took my old MX6 into Regency to get the VIN checked (to change rego from NT to SA) about 2 years ago they made me take off the front tint there and then. They had the tester out before I had even stopped the car - and I was ONLY there for a VIN check, not a vehicle inspection. Most (read nearly all) cars come with around 18% factory tint in the driver and passenger windows, and they told me that 30% is max tint for side windows, so theoretically you would need under 12% tint to be legal (ie. factory 18% + 12% = 30%). At that time my windows tested at 32% so they made me take the tint off. They weren't concerned with the rears but I think they say 35% is allowable. But you should check with Regency before forking out your hard earned cash that might get you defected! My $0.02c
  16. Yeah I agree with the positive commments, top organisation Ben - great cruise. As others have said, it is impossible to help stupid people who can't read clear maps .... all in all it was an awesome effort, but I am sure those of you who have been on small, private SAU cruises before, that these are the only way to go! Roll on the nice spring weather so we can do a Sunday arvo belt in the hills again with a small group - they beat these large cruises hands down! But you get to see more nice cars on the large cruises .... each to their own I suppose!
  17. Yeah we were sick of the wind and rain so left at about 12:30pm .... spewin we missed Miss33 and Dean - was good to see Chapman and the rest of the blokes around the barbie - mighty fine tent we made there - did it weather the storm after we left?
  18. That's a GREAT idea Matty .... yeah as you know I'd chip in too! p.s a massive thanks to Timmay, Steve, Joel etc for putting on the bbq at drift day - it was great!!
  19. As per PMs to interested parties it IS still for sale!
  20. yeah walkoau it is 3" all the way, heading to a massive 4.5" tip .... it is one heck of an exhaust
  21. Cool I'll bring my toy out in case we get a chance to play It is a Kyosho Tim .... have only driven it twice so far, so we are just getting acquainted. I might get you to have a look at it Saturday and tell me what you think.
  22. I bought mine on Ebay, Rob http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...egory=2565&rd=1, having seen new kits for about $500-$700 at the hobby shop cnr Main North Rd and Clayson Rd. Couldn't justify the $700 for the one I wanted, so found this one on Ebay instead (and it happens to be an S15 ). It works fine and is great fun. Tyres seem to be the thing I will go through most, as I've only ran it a couple of times and they are already showing wear. As long as you look after the cars I think they last quite a long time, and surely before they wear out you would be wanting to buy bigger and better upgraded items anyhow Mine is pull start with single speed gearbox, as Dean has recommended for n00bahs
  23. hehe yeah that would be cool .... and strap mini G-Techs to them too to get rwkw
  24. errrr Nitro CARS dude .... r e m o t e c o n t r o l c a r s that run on a combination nitro fuel .... understandy now? Hrmph - Victorians lol
  25. Hey I just got my Nitro up and running and remember a few others commenting that they have one also .... anyone interested in bringing theirs out to drift day for some mucking around? (not on the track obviously - but maybe?). I am keen to give mine a fang!
