I think the finish time is supposed to be 5pm. Not sure what time the street meet drags start, but the pro car test and tune starts at AIR at 10am (with public street meet to be after that).

Tim, sorry mate, had my grandfathers 80th Birthday lunch to attend - previously committed. I was there until 12pm though - if you had got your lazy ass out of bed ya woulda seen me earlier

There is no such thing as a BAD drag IMHO, as long as you cane them then slow down at 65km (as cell correctly pointed out). As long as you have a heap of car lengths on them by then, you can be sure you would have fully hammered them over a 1/4 mile Some of my best drags have been against a certain grey R32GTR muahahahahaha :Owned: .... oh and racing Rob (with the supercharged Monaro) at AIR and nailing his 300rwkw ass (and getting it on video)

Hi, Since we lost the old post, I thought I'd post up a reminder: Mallala public track day Sat 6th Dec meet Sefton Plaza cnr Main North and Regency Roads 9am Racing/Scrutineering starts at 10am (I think) approx. 7 x 1 hour blocks, with 4 x 15 minute sessions (one of each class - car, bike, go-kart and open wheeler I believe) in each block. So you get to race 15 minutes in every hour (which u want to do to cool down anyhow). Cost $70 Need: - helmet - long sleeves - closed shoes - non nylon-flammable clothing - full licence - NO P-PLATERS - sorry We will be cooking a basic bbq on the day and ask a gold coin donation or whatever you deem appropriate. I will bring a little barbie, utensils, sauce, bread, snags and chevaps. If you want anything else to cook on the bbq feel free to bring it. I think that about covers it!! Come out even if you don't want to race (not that there's ANY excuse for not racing ). Please post your intentions below so I can get a rough idea of food requirements (again - sorry).

maybe we'll have to push it back a couple of weeks. The last 3 practice days for the year are: Saturday 29th November Saturday 6th December Saturday 13th December but the longer we leave it, the greater chance of hot weather. If it's much over 30 degrees there is no way I am gonna race my car .... David had his R33 out there last year when it was about 25 degrees and it was boiling over the coolant (out of the overflow bottle) every time he stopped unless he warmed it down for 10+ minutes. But I'm open to suggestions ..... [edit - damn I can't change the poll]

Yeah, if you keep it to 15 minutes on, 45 minutes off, then you give both your engine and brakepads/fluid a chance to cool down and recover.

As has been spoken of many times before, I think it is time to organise a proper day out at Mallala. My suggestion is to go out Saturday November 15th. This is a public 'practice day' and there is 1 x 15 minute session for each vehicle class from 10am - 5pm. So you'd get to go out roughly 7 times for 10 or so laps. (And 15 minutes at a time is the most you'd want to be out there in one stretch). Cost is $70 each car (I believe nothing for spectators) and we can just rock up. I have chosen this date because it is unlikely to be rainy, and unlikely to be too hot. I have emailed Christine Kemp and she said no probs - we just have to have a full licence (no P or L plates), helmet and long sleeves. Pay the cash, sign the indemnity and we're off. No minimum numbers required. Perhaps we could organise a bbq (hint hint Steve & Timmay) and make a decent day of it. It could of course include an after cruise and whatever anyone suggests. I know we have access to some G-Techs for measurement purposes too and we could have a little in-house competition. What do you all think?

I am aiming for the December Wednesday night meet (as I want to get quite a few things sorted before then), so I kinda hope you don't get your beast back before then - or if you do to come out in Dec as well!

It actually doesn't need to be done until at least 100,000km .... but you're right better safe than sorry! I hope you did the water pump at the same time, cos for a very small cost it can be done while the thing is apart - and it can be a huge cost later on ....

Last I heard Wrecks's were being stolen (and normally raced, ram-raided or high speed chased then smashed) in vast numbers and as a consequence insurance premiums were going through the roof. You would want to get some serious insurance quotes before doing anything. And like I said, the 'steal me' factor of a Rex is way higher than a GTST .... GTR is a different story I suppose, as these are in a league of their own. My 2c

I am very happy you're keeping the beast Matt .... that is very good news for the summer cruising scene .... who else is crazy enough to have me chasing them through roundabouts down south at 100km/h? I can't wait till its back on the road and we can have some runs at AIR!!!
