  1. Epic picture post because bored and want to feel like there's more progress. imgur stuffed up the order a bit but whatever.
  2. So it turns out that the particular model RD28 block I bought was electronically controlled and had a crank trigger. The trigger wheel is a three-post deal that will be replaced but the sensor is mounted in a really neat position in the factory oil pump cover. Going to try and utilise this with a custom 12T wheel like the RB guys use. From photos it should be possible but I've got a couple of wheels/gears coming to me to try. Will be ace and OE looking if it works.
  3. Just ordered one of these beauties from Ross Racing Products.
  4. Block is now being o-ringed.
  5. Two 50mm Turbosmart BOVs arrived this afternoon. Love this stuff. So well made.
  6. More cool Spool stuff for this thing.
  7. The Powercruise guys just made this happen.
  8. Check page 3 of this thread.
  9. Custom CP pistons arrived. Block bored and honed and trial assembly begun to clearance block for extra stroke.
  10. CA625 head studs to suit RB26 are here and crankshaft came back from being sized. Just need pistons now and it's game on.
  11. Progress on engine assembly. Got the block back from Jack Bros after a line bore and hone and being tapped for 12mm head studs as well as being fitted for the steel caps. Osama bin Grindin'. Needs a couple of thou off everywhere and a few off the thrust. Was too tight everywhere but very consistent (maximum .001 either way of the middle.) Turbosmart FPR-3000 showed up too. Will be running Siemens 2400s x 12 by the looks of things. There goes $2k.
  12. Picked up the next piece of the puzzle from Alex and Oyay from Plazmaman Racing.
  13. I've done the street car thing, now I'm doing the race car thing. No water in the block (or between the head and the block, but that comes later), methanol, comp', big boost, 7s. Buh-five-tah is a legendary car.
  14. Ordinary engine builder: "Hey mate, your cams arrived." My engine builder: Caps, girdle etc all arrived. Deck given a light machine before going out for line boring at Jack Bros.
  15. They're a tiny bit bigger now and the exhaust is matched to the manifold. Plenty of meat in the 6boost runner/flange to make it perfect. I pick up the new Plazmaman billet runner intake next week. Will be interested to see how much, if any, work that needs.
