This is reality, are u in the matrix, or is the matrix in you, the question, that is What we've been saying is stock for stock a wrx (NOT STI, if we are talking STI then compare to GTR ) doesnt beat the 33 off the line simply beacause of what you said at the top of this page.. it bogs down crazy thanks to an unmatched clutch to the 4wd system. And if the GTSt is anywhere near the WRX at half track then chances are it will beat it. Remember we are talking about normal WRXs here GTR STI and not STI as you own. One thing some expeirence with turbo cars teaches u is turbos start to make expodential power higher in the rev range then down low. So a car can be behind behind at quarter track and still catch up, it has nothing to do with who gets the jump unless its a big jump, then obviously there isnt a chance. Im yet to see a WRX thats only changed clutch and flywheel to get into 12s. 4WD vs RWD is only an advantage if the RWD car your racing cant get traction, But of course we are talking about standard cars here, and what standard GTST really has a traction problem? they dont. So stock for stock the wrx 4wd drive system doesnt give it the massive advantage that alot of people think it does :uh-huh: Considering the brand new price for a 33 Gtst was pretty close to the new WRX price, this really is a good discussion.

Want a 2001 Lamborghini Diablo For Peanuts?
knore replied to ManiPuLatoR's topic in General Automotive Discussion
this is funny, cos i was at a friends yesterday and we noticed a mamoth yellow thing sticking out of his next door neighbours garage, so we walked over.. hes doing exacly that, has a worked lexus V8 engine, porsche box, and heaps of other bits and pieces. Hes making it from scratch. Should be done by christmas, cost around $100k all up, and hes planning on entering targa tasmania. -
IF? theres no doubt about it, that thing wouldnt be able to go around round abouts, turn at any street, park anywhere, get shipped or transported anywhere... infact is it even allowed on the road? Surely it isnt, thered be certain intersections youd sit at where the ass of your car is getting flashed by the red light camera in the intersection 20m away while your sitting at a red light up ahead. Its 100ft long which is what it metres? 100/4: approx 25m long If i made that, which i wouldnt :Bang: ide make it so you could break it into 3 main pieces atleast what a silly invention.. 'ive got mo money than brains' still, imagine the party you could have in that
-
i can only imagine how much the 350z stroker kit costs too still, would be a nice couple if joined with a big turbo
-
Yeh the boxer engine trips me out whenever im in a rex, i think of the cylinders and my brain is like 'uhh the cylinders are going thata way not up and down' hehe
-
hehe now now  Ide rather wheel spin than bog, atleast u can feather the clutch to turn wheelspin into traction. When racing, any pause in acceleration is bad. On topic, is australia getting the 2.5L wrx? Cos it'l be a different story then

Am i missing something? None of the above makes any sense to me Bax: Obviously it isnt a 1/4 mile on the freeway ;p I guess u needed to be there to understand.. When the monaro dropped back a gear sitting at high rpm with loud engine roaring then we both floor it, its fairly easy to see who is faster or closer. I couldnt hear anything over his engine, sounded nice, not as good as the Z06 corvette engine noise though. Anyways, WRX Stock rex and stock gtst should be pretty much even, maybe the 33 pulls a little bit more. Thing ive noticed when WRX do big launches is they bog down like crazy and that usually takes the 4wd advantage away. I havent owned a rex but from what ive gathered from friends and people i know that have them.. the 33gtst seems to respond to mods alot better. It doesnt take much to turn a stock 33 into a consistant low-mid 13 sec car if you got good camber and tyres. In terms of performance for your dollar, the 33 definately wins Personally i dont like how ALL Rex's (including the sports wagons and liberty rs etc) sound the same. Its a nice sound, but u get sick of it after awhile.

Its one of the few that lives up to its reputation. Really pushes the Xbox too, all of the graphics are amazing. Im still stuck on this bitchass boss, but ill get it.

Ive been through the same scenario, many a time GTR STI  i didnt say i dont like the monaro/gto, and im fairly sure the new monaros and GTOs have an even bigger engine than the Gen 3 V8. Im fairly sure they have a 300kw LS1. And there was no denying when we raced, it was for over 30mins on and off, so we both knew how fast each other cars were. Your STI sounds pretty nice though, why did you de-tune it?

Im Definate Erin Hoping to have a nice big huffer on the engine by then

falken tyre price check
knore replied to Nrage33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeh they are still making the RT215 series .. thank god! But they arent any more shipments coming to australia anytime soon. Only ones i could find are RT215 245/45/17 at $340 fitted Which is expensive because of low stock. A few months ago you could get 255/40/17 for $310 Things is they dont know when they will be another shipment from japan, so it could be weeks or months. -
why are they 2 different spark plugs? One is NGK IR, the other is just R. I would definately replace those plugs just from the look of them. Gapping iridiums is ok, you just have to be carefull. The most important part is the tip, the rest is fairly durable. Also, how tight have u put the spark plugs in? Try insulating the coils with electrical tape aswell

Im not familiar with the Gtech but if its the same as the Blitz power meter and RSM, then it can be easily tricked by wheelspin Ie you can get to 100km/h alot quicker because the wheels break traction, speedo jumps up to a 100km/h when the car is only going 80 etc But GTRs wouldnt have this problem obviously
-
Hell yeh! thats sweeet! What transmission did it have?
-
My first car is the car ive got now in my gallery But its not the first car ive driven for a descent amount of time. I did a good year of driving around in my dads Holden and a few other cars here and there. Dont forget, the chances of having an accident with your first car is very high

I dont understand how so many R33s are 'getting beaten' by WRXs Ive never been beaten by standard/slightly modified WRX and am very close to STIs I had 166rwkw a few months ago, and at that time was still a walk in the park versus normal WRX, infact, we even beat one with my mate james driving my car! Its never by a huge amount, but its enough. Since then ive added a few little things.. AVCR, Trust IC, Semi Slicks etc Havent had the chance to go another rex since the mods, but there really isnt any point now. We had a full on go with some HSVs the other nite (on the track ofcourse) And all those boys couldnt beleive how fast my car was, even the 300kw gto coupe couldnt keep up when i was running 1bar, otherwise it was pretty even. Oh, and just to finish it off... (I love this part) My 33 is Auto Muahahaha Nah all respect to Subaru's, i like them, especially the fact you can buy brand new STI for the price of a second hand 33 GTR. I think people get in WRXs, and because they make such a meaty sound and grab the road, they feel alot quicker than they actually are. With the mods though, the WRX can be just as good if not better in getting the power to ground aspect. And 33s with bullshit hard Tein suspension can start rattling and making some annoying noises after awhile, but soon as you floor it, all that turns into a nice smile

Oil Extreme (oil additive similar to Roil)
knore replied to JimX's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I havent got into the Roil/Oil Extreme discussion much, But how about we all use really good oil, and change frequently, then there is no need for addittives -

Is there any hints/rumours/expected prices floating around yet? Considering the R34 GTR was what $150,000 AUD brand new from japan? Im assuming nissan has a different approach with the R35 though, and wont need to charge as much as the R34. Todays market, and any market, rarely buys cars over $150,000 in bulk so they will have to keep the price down, unless they aim at the ferrari and porsche market? Also, whats the word going around on it being sold in australia? Seeing the 350z has done well, i cant think of why they wouldnt go well with it here

Its probably just settling down to idle again Even new cars shake a little at idle What kind of 'shuddering' through the steering wheel or entire car?
