  1. Dang Sean - looks like I gotta spend somemore cash on the "R" before we run at the plex next! Well done for having the balls to continue the project - look forward to catching up when I get back to Oz in November.
  2. After a pair (obviously) in good condition. PM me with details.
  3. I often have friends not in the know say that they saw a car "just like mine" They are referring to any Skyline however. My answer is that it's "chalk and cheese" or if speaking to a Ford fan "taxi and Tickford" - they get the idea!
  4. WIth only 3 wires - should be able to make an educated gus based on colours. black - probably earth red or brown - probably 12v constant other - signal if you have a PFC - try it out on the diagnostics screen with ignition on only
  5. PM sent on the gearset
  6. Bloody server Tax free? Well - it ain't actually that clear cut. Bottom line is that once the Tax dept. gets it's grubby paws on your dosh it is unlikely to give it back (heaps of caveats). Best to keep it O/S if possible.
  7. Working on a copper/gold mine. Here for 3 months whilst they find a replacement Metallurgy Manager. I'm looking forward to splurging some $$$ on new terb when I get back, trouble is that the missus has other ideas. Probably gonna be a compromise on some used terbs I suspect.
  8. Guys, you'll like this one. I'm still in Bulgaria working on a mine. I just got a new work car with a warning that I should be careful because: "it is a turbo and is REALLY fast". It's a VW Passat with a 1.8 and a low blow terb (guessing only around 5psi). Supposedly produces a staggering 110 kw in a car weighing around 1600 kg! I said that I would "respect the power".
  9. Thanks Sydneykid - as usual your advice is both very useful and to the point. Cheers Gav
  10. Sparc - sorry, forgot your handle. Nice hp result - basically identical to what I got at SST with similar mods. BTW - did you get a software upgrade for the Datalogit yet?
  11. And I though that the honeycomb in the cat was solely to stop GTR ceramic terb wheels from going through the windscreen of tailgaters trying to keep up!!
  12. Sure it's a V-Spec? There is a white R33 GTR in Scarborough owned by a guy named Ben. Std except for zaust and PFC.
  13. The question is self defeating.....Black is best, black's not a colour.
  14. Bugger - sold an RB25 AFM (off my old S15) recently. BTW - anyone know if the RB25 AFMs have the same bolt pattern (for the air cleaner) as the GTR ones?
  15. I have owned both a quick Silvia, an S15 with 280 hp ATW, and now an R32 GTR at the limit of the std terbs with 340 hp ATW (both on the same dyno). Whilst the GTR runs the faster time slip, the S15 funnily enough felt faster due to the steep power curve. The S15 also had the higher top speed (256 km/h) compared with the R32 (245 km/h is the best so far). All in all, however, the GTR is a much more enjoyable car to drive hard and feels far more predictable when exiting a corner on full noise (no surprise here with the ATESSA). I have also been chopped a few times by Silvias (and even Summoner's V8) when caught at the lights off boost. But as gtrken says, when challenged in a rolling start it's a different matter. Gotta love the feeling when challenged on the freeway and there is plenty of room - drop back to third straight into full boost at 4 grand on 100 km/h, hold this gear until the taco hits 8 grand and more likely than not your adversary will be a distant object in the rear view mirror. Both the SR20 and the RB26 are great engines that will go down in history as a tribute to Nissan.
  16. As part of a planned upgrade, I will need to change out the std AFMs on my GTR. I already have a PFC fitted. Common practice/recommendations appears to be to use Z32 AFMs. I am worried, however, that these may be too large to give good resolution for tuning at part throttle/cruising. Given that I had a single RB25 AFM on my old S15 that supported over 200 kw ATW, would a pair RB25 AFMs be a better choice for a "moderate" upgraded (say 300 kw ATW) GTR?
  17. Me too - later
  18. Be careful what you wish for - one day you wake up and you realise that time has given the experience (read grey hair) to go and do it. You also realise that you're married, have kids and a huge mortgage. Wish I was at Uni again (of course with my present salary!)
  19. I'm in the mining industry. Studied Mineral Science at Murdoch too many years ago and now mainly work out of Perth consulting. Take the odd overseas job when the dosh is right.
  20. Time for a quick chat. Got back into Perth on the WE after 5 weeks holiday in Europe. Managed to pick up some ocntract work back there - so I'm back on the plane on Saturday for a 3 month stint! Not a realy comfy assignment and will obviously miss my girls (wife and daughter) but looking forward to tax free fold (I can see a new pair of snails for the "R" being bolted on in November). Hope to catch up for a cruise when I get back - and no more bloody offers to drive my car when I'm away!
  21. Paul got back from hols on the WE sand picked up the shirt - nice job. The large is a little big for me - any fat bastards with a medium want to swap?? PM me ASAP as my company is eending me away again on Sat for 3 months OS.
  22. I fitted a 12 puck ceramic clutch (still centre sprung) with 2,500 lb spring that has so far taken some serious launches at the drags without any problems. Because of the vacuum assist in the GTR it drives and feels like standard. Obviously not a strong as a twin plate, but at a third of the price I reckon I can afford to preplace it every 18 months or so and still be ahead.
  23. (on topic) I had a good look at one in a R33 GTR last month. Very impressive and opens up a heap of functions (how about air temp correction, re-scaling of both load and rev axis etc). Data logging is bloody useful too. Datalogit have just released software that suits all GTRs (32-34). (off topic) sending this from a smokey/stinkin' cafe in Bulgaria - still better than work 'tho! Cheers Gav
  24. Nice result Matty must be a nice streetable package now - swap you a drive when I get back from OS.
