  1. I was on a mine site (back on Leonora) doing vacation experience. Drove the water truck around the stores twice and got my car and truck licence. Then got on the piss with the copper after work for a few hours. I am an old bastard 'tho.
  2. Steve - now I'm nervous! Make sure that stash of goodies that are arriving shortly end up on MY car
  3. I'm guessing: R32 - 30 R33 - 20 R34 - 10 Whaddya reckon?
  4. What car are you comparing it to? Also check basics such as timing and fuel filters etc.
  5. Just my personal opinion, having driven both big single and twin high mount versions, I much prefer twin terbs for the street. They tend to be more responsive and give a broader torque curve. Also, there is no sound on earth like a GTR with two large highmounts spooling up!
  6. Firstly - a good service and replacement of (crap) compliance lubricants with good quality synthetics (eg Redline) in engine, gearbox and diff is money well spent.
  7. HKS gear works for me - bolts up easily, isn't overly restrictive and not droney like some custom made systems I have heard. On a GTR - you'll be amased at the difference front pipes and terb extensions make as well. A "Jap-Spec" cat also make a notable improvement to flow and spoolup response. Mr Plod may not be impressed if he finds out, however.
  8. Damn - I can see $$$ of my rebuild growing. What $$$ are they roughly?
  9. Are the position of the terbs the same as factory - ie will HKS dumps and front pipes (set up HKS low mounts) bolt straight up?
  10. Bass Junky - you be looking at the CAS. ylwgtr2 - nice detailing job, did you run the GReddy plenum before taking the engine out? Any noticable improvements?
  11. gtrrrr what brand of coilpacks are you running? Never seen the red ones before
  12. With with Monroe Air Rider shockies to jack it up at the back, right? Your showing your age again Steve.
  13. I doubt it - the 044 flows more volume (and pressure ?) than the Nismo pump that I fitted. I never got more than 80% duty on my 550cc injectors and that was with 25/40s fitted.
  14. Micko Brendan is getting his R tuned by Lumpy/Ken anyday now (if not already). He has the PFC with boost kit as well. Before I bolted on the big terbs (and did a big end) I had stable boost at just under 1 bar. Couldn't get stable boost on the bigger terbs at higher boost, however. I suspect it has a fair bit to do with setting up the actuators well in the first place as Sydneykid explains in another post. You've got HKS actuators - right?
  15. I would suggest bigger sump and baffle kit is a must if you are doing any track work. Cheap insurance.
  16. I'm also interested in people's recommendations for cam specs. Before I did a big end bearing, I was quite impressed with the HKS 25/40s that I fitted. These used std cams but had adjustable sprockets to bring on boost earlier. Full boost was only around 500 rpm later than std terbs. I'm thinking of using 272 specs (step 1 IN, step 2 EX) along with some head porting to really bring on the larger terbs. Also doing aftermarket rods and forgies to lift the readline and broaden the torque curve. Thoughts?
  17. I'm with Rev. Give the R32 another consideration as a part time/weekend car and get a conservative daily driver or bunky with the change. No stress about leaving a corolla or magna parked in a dodgy carpark on a Saturday night. Don't have to go to my extreme tho - an ex RAC van!
  18. I was happy with the results gained from removing the HICAS also, it does add to the turning circle a little, though. BTW - on spring rates, does anyone know the specs for the King springs used in the GTR? I have King/Bilstein combo fitted and these are quite firm (almost too much). Sydneykid - I also have pineapples fitted set up for traction (using the small/cut rings on the front). Do you use these in this configuation or as per all round performance (ie large rings on the front)?
  19. Brendo - I think that you should swap those QF rims and rubber for my new Bilsteins!
  20. Drivers licence says I'm 37 Missus says I act like an 17 year old with midnight cruises etc Body feels like a 57 year old after the cruises!
  21. OK Sean - whattya up to?
  22. One coil pack has a spring connector to the spark plug and the other has a carbon (graphite) one. Both work ok and can be swapped between the two.
  23. No. No they're not. Serial numbers (don't have 'em handy) or the short cast dump pipes with the Nissan symbol are often still attached to the terbs and are quite unique. Yes, possible if you know what to look for. No, not matched and yes, can change one.
  24. Sure will Sean, I once plugged a Mines computer into an R33 GTR. Probably very similar to this one if I'm not mistaken ;-)
  25. I've already got one quote for transport from Japan to Bulgaria at USD2,900. They are guessing for similar cost back to Oz. Round trip of under 5 large (Oz $) with no duties certainly looks attractive.
