  1. ANY change of the original design can be defected if it isn't engineered, including rear wing removal.Did you know you can get defected for a non-standard stereo head unit?Or non-factory fitted tyres, even if they're standard size?Or an aftermarket radiator cap?Basically,if it's changed, and non-engineered,they can do you for it.Simple as that. It's at the discretion of the person that pulled you over(Police are usually nicer to deal with than the RTA crew...)as to wheather you get a slap on the wrist or a full fisting over "the pits".I've found it depends on the modification, and your attitude at the time.I got yanked for an undersized numberplate on the way to Auto Salon Final Battle earlier in the month. The Police officer was really good about it:only cautioned me-21 days to change it back,no fine,no inspection. He looked over the car, spotted the roll-cage,rims,gauges etc.Even looked under the bonnet:the numberplate was his only issue. We wound up having a chuckle and got on with our respective days. The same officer pulled over a very well known S15 show car-and booked him for too low,and a BOV(my car has two that weren't mentioned or noted by the same Policeman...).Attitude and level of modification is important...So,removing the wing, putting in a third brake light should let you go unhassled, but engineer it if you're concerned about overall legality.
  2. Now THAT is a tough car...'xcuse me,I'm off to the toilet for some "private time"!

  4. I'd say A) Ignore them and stay at your current speed-but a keep a watchful eye for the possible rear ender that may occur...then D) Pull over and let them go past if they're gonna be idiots about it...I love my car too much to be caught in a dud situation!
  5. Meant to post earlier:spotted Sinista growling merrily along on Xmas night up Lanyon Drive from Hume as we went to look at all the pretty lights in E's ScoobyRoo.Damn, the 32 sounds horn...and it has such a presence, you can tell it's mean from 500 meters away when it's just coming into focus!
  6. I'm up for a catch up! See you there!
  7. G'day Daniel! Welcome to the forum! Ditto what Aurora and Terminal have already said! Looking forward to having another GTR in the fold-you should be pleasantly suprised with the SAU crew in Canberra! Hope to catch you soon,Jayce.
  8. Spot on!!
  9. In what will probably turn into a Summernats regular thing,I've booked a table or three at Da Cellini's restaraunt for Friday the 7th of January.Da Cellini's is the one on the roundabout in the middle of Lonsdale Street,Braddon. It's opposite the Mobil/car wash and the car dealerships.I was there last year with a bunch of friends, enjoying all the sights as we had a great feed and one(maybe 27...)too many drinks.Parking is at a premium,so plan ahead!OK,so it's mainly V8's,but come out and enjoy the fumes/skimpy clothes/million dollar paintjobs! At this point in time, there's 4 people confirmed, another 8 spots are available.Last year,we had more people want "in",so once the booked tables were full, people had to let me know they were coming and I added on-the owners of the restaraunt were really good about it.More than 12? Bring it on! We kick off at 7 p.m. Send me a PM or just post an "OK!" up to let me know you're coming. (partners/girlfriends/boyfriend/pet rocks/pay-by-the-hour-"friends"-WHOEVER!Just let me know how many!
  10. I'm putting in for the weekend off work:don't know how I'll go,but I'm keen for Satd'ys top 100-at least there's some serious cars in that particular pavillion.I'll be posting an invite to all for a get together on Friday night:keep your eyes peeled. As for parking,is there really such a thing as a safe parking spot?I'd happily pay for properly secure parking, but that's a bit pie-in-the-sky on 'Nats weekend,I think...If I get the weekend off,I'm happy to shuttle any SAU'ers in the mighty Liberty(it has aircon, thank christ).I'm not real keen to get my ride out,anyway-defect city(even if mine is 99% engineered legal),plus the moron V8 biggots that only bow to one brand of horsepower...
  11. Spotted some fat fella a coupla nights ago in a red R34 Nur-Spec GTR,being towed by what looked like half a dozen HKS TD88-34D turbines in harnesses(might've been Motec wiring looms...).Gave him a wave;could be mistaken, but I thought he called me a Ho,or something similar.Benefit of the doubt was given,as he looked really familiar...Couldn't spot a SAU sticker, but I think he was one of our crew...'cept the numberplates were a bit weird:XMA-501?
  12. :bahaha:
  13. As weird as it is replying to my own post,I just had to say -my kit just showed up!Talk about fast service! Those of you waiting-it's worth the (short) wait;for those thinking about getting a kit:do it!Great value for money! The filter relocation block is a work of art,I reckon!
  14. Speaking only for myself,I'm happy to wait so as to get the good price. My mechanic is on hol's anyway,so I can't get into the workshop to fit it up anyway...
  15. Ha!ROFLMAO! Black Thunder, you say?Classic!I wonder if the horrible media types at Black Thunder Central(104.7)have more respect for the fabled stove taillights...Or maybe they'll jump on the rising wave of stereotyping and label your car,and all of ours,"killer Skylines"?
  16. Oh yeah...Spotted:Viper_r32 going COMPLETELY the wrong way 'round Jerrabomberra's main roundabout! As he struggled to avoid not one,but two head-ons with road-rule abiding citizens, his lack of directional skill was observed by a large portion of ACT's SAU crew waiting to head from the pub for Sunday's Cotter cruise...No harm was done ro anything except Paul's pride-his face matched his shirt(red....very,very red)once he stepped out of his ride.S'funny-everyone gave P. grief about the move in a lighthearted way afterwards, but it takes only one simpleton that can't figure out electronic gadgets to post about it!!And he probably thought he'd gotten away with it not getting posted until now,LOL!Ah,it's all in good fun,Viper_r32!Bet you never do it again - at least not with such a sympathetic audience in attendance!!
  17. Spotted:me being a :tool: of amateur proportions... Couldn't work out all yesterday why the ride was only running .5 bar of boost.Though to myself:"meh;it's hot-the Power FC's just looking after my engine's best interests...it'll be all good when it's cooler".Then she wouldn't come to the party this eve' going to get fuel(SHOCK!HORROR!!Jayce drives GTR twice in one week!!!)...so,methinks  -stop by "our" long suffering mechanic's shop(we should call it Garage Integra, maybe?Slight J'pnese flavour, dontcha think?)and bounce the problem off knowledgable ears.Low'n'behold,Sinista and her pilot are there: -enough hardened Skyline people to sort this drama...A mere 20 seconds into Ed's diagnosis and... me=prize idiot.Boost controllers wont work when they're TURNED OFF! And I didn't even notice all the pretty lights weren't there for the last 24 hours- .Ed and all assembled had the decency not to :flamer: me for my most basic of ****-ups.So,much boostage was had after that.I spotted a nice R33 GTS-T,white with big chromed rims near Ed's house-waved,got a shared wave back(I can only claim 50% of the wave-she was waving to Ed,too,y'see...).Then spotted a silver R33 GTS(T?) on the bridge into Queanbo'-got a :wavey: in return of my :wavey: .Crept home most of the way-but,now I have forced atmosphere again, and the road ahead was clear of debris and Police,I just had to:the new roundabout turing into Jerra?Lanyon Drive onto Thopmsitt?Yep: :Owned: it! Ahhhh...there's nothing like a GTR doin' it's thang!
  18. Wanna borrow a standard set to get U by?PM me...
  19. I'll add my 2 cents worth-Brent @ Nengun is tops! Simple as that!
  20. Yeah,I know...sad,isn't it?Truth is,for around 15 years,I rose early to go training.Then I got run over,took 2 years off to enjoy life(which is currently at the 3 year mark...)and I still can't get my body clock turned off...damned thing!
  21. Hahahaha:saw THAT coming...PM sent!
  22. G'day Paul! Hope you do make it Sunday-it'd be good to say g'day in person!Plus,it sound like there'll be enough 'Lines to keep everyone happy!
