Christmas Cruise numbers: whos coming
LTSJayce replied to skyline_babe5's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Ah,well:look at the bright side-when in Bathurst, spiritual Australian home/stomping ground of the Skyline, you might as well crack a lap of Mount Panaorama...even if there is a 60km/h limit!Feel the serenity?Meh...feel the history! -
Hmm...I'm not sure what to make of BMW M PWR's post either.S'funny:I got "owned"(or so the driver told all his mates,I found out later)by a silver M5 a little while ago.A brief burst from first to second must've constituted a street drag to said driver as he was off in a flurry of ripping rubber and exhaust fumes after that.I gotta say,I really rate the M5's-love 'em all 'cept the shape of the new model-damned fine automobile, and a real goer,at that.Being that serious street racing(as in serious launch, serious speed, seriously dangerous)is...seriously stupid,I'm happy with that outcome.I was even happier about 5 weeks later handing the exact same M5 and driver their arse back to them on a plate at Wakefield Park.It was a pretty close duel, and good fun.But Bavaria's finest didn't triumph in a real race that day.Funnily enough, the owner was very quiet in defeat.I wonder if he had the integrity to tell that to his mates?I haven't been able to find that last bit of info' out,as yet.I'm out to make my car more reliable for trackdays,as much research shows that GTR suffer a few terminal problems I didn't previously know about on the day of the M5's defeat.Still, the 32 didn't go "pop" then, and it wont go "pop" shortly after said mod's are finished. So,maybe a trackday is on the cards again,BMW M PWR?Maybe, getting back to the thread topic, there'll be another "spotted" in a rear view mirror...
-
Hahahahaha:"Run" and Coke!LMAO!Maybe it's called "Run" 'cause that's what Mark would be doing,at a great rate towards the toilet, after taking in as much of the dreaded black stuff as he did last night...
-
Geez,if I'm feeling sharp,I might even bring your formal CD,too...
-
Not lacking sleep this week-game on!See y'all there!

Hahahahahaha!ROFLMAO!!!Although...(quiet pause)...now I'm worried someone knows my "little secret"! :ufo:

I'm with Paul & Stacey(of DIRTgarage fame/infamy!)-most sell their souls just to afford a GTR-but they're an older car(or at least the 32's and 33's are)-something will not be right, and it'll cost big to fix usually. If a car that retailed here in Oz for $110,00 can be had for low to mid 20K,I'd say that is giving you fair warning it wont be right from the start! My 32 cost a reasonable amount more and, whilst in better overall condition than most, still needs some TLC in places.Spring for the neatest, unmodified example of a GTS-T(four doors seem to be better value...hint,hint)and spend the extra dollars making it stop and handle(power comes later-no good without the first two things). There's my 2c worth!Good luck, and happy Skylining!

Hey Shan! I'm up for a shirt-PM me so we can sort it!

It's good to know!I've been keeping an eye on posts about Final Battle, and almost everyone missed my car.I was really just there to help make up numbers for J-Racing's team-sounds funny, dunnit:a GTR "just there to make up numbers"?There were a few standout Skylines there-only one had a SAU sticker, that I can recall-plus a number others I'll probably post about at some stage.I realised long before we showed up that I was down about 25 kilo's of stickers,a triple deck pink wing and 1/4 tonne of chrome 20's on the competition, but I'll keep it that way!Nothing wrong with the *bling* factor:each to their own,I guess. It was good to see everyone else's interpretation of dersirability. But,to me,a GTR was built to kick ass and take numbers without the fanfare.Maybe, once my engine build is done,I might do SAS again and hit the dyno up,but it's not a priority.I wish I'd managed to catch you guys up,but 3 days solid standing next to your ride is almost impossible... Anyway, thanks for the props!I knew there was a chance a SAU'er or two would be there to appreciate the finer things!

Well,THAT all amounted to SQUAT...Still,better to be safe than...stuffed?My mum's Forester got totalled 2 nights ago in Goulburn,so don't just dismiss these hail warnings.Oh,yeah:I'm on a motorbike to and from work:think I'm feeling good about the weather at the mo'?!
-
Thanks, crew!I really didn't think I got noticed at SAS in amongst the *bling bling* of all the other cars.Less is more,in my view anyway!Until the right foot goes down, then it's a different matter...
-
That'd be me...
-
Heads up!Any of you with cars or valuable stuff outside:time to cover up!One of my customers "out west" of Canberra has been totalled by hail, and the Bureau of Meterology says it's headed our way...Hopefully it misses us,but if it doesn't:get your 'Line inside!!
-
LARGE case of "ditto"!I'm still 99.9% confident that a newie should show for all of us...I'm sure there's been an addressing mixup or similar.I know at my shop we've got 25 people and twice in the last 4 years a part was wrongly addressed and sent.If that was the case, imagine the look of glee the other bloke had when his "reconditioned" cooler showed up looking like brand new!!
-
....must...try to...stay awake :coffee: ;trivia night on....tonight-don't want to be :flamed: 'd for being soft...Nooooo, winning...too....big of a weekend at car show...wont make it:see y'all next week:I'm stuffed.

Hahahahaha!LMAO!Ah,you know it!Nah,actually it's a Moto GP special...

Anyone got an Aussie friend living in the U.S. at the mo'?I'm desperate to get my hands on 4-5 copies of a DVD that the maker will only send the "Limited Edition" of to people living in the States.I need someone who has an Aussie bank account that I can direct deposit them easily. If they're bought "domestically",then posted to me,all's good!Obviously, this person has to be reliable;I'd need this to be done within weeks, not months and years... Anyone got a good contact?
-
I can sadly confirm that one of the big hitting 'Lines wont be there:two.06l(Stacey and Paul from Dirt Garage).Crap...I was genuinely looking forward to see that particular R32.

PM sent!

Spotted Soarer sitting sedately:what happened after we left? And did A. get home safely, and without overheasting issues?

Ah,a good night was had by all who attended-I believe "Madam Lush's Sex Kittens" came home in fifth, out of about 12 teams(?).Thanks for all who came along, but we need more:MORE,I say!Next week,we should set the bar a level higher!Come on,you lot!Join in the fun;I know Goran,Ewan and Nik have expressed interest or shown up at least once-the rest of you get those a**s into gear for next Tuesday night!I'll be coming down from the high of taking out God of Auto Salon(yeah...right!),Richard will be fuelling up with Mr. James Beam's finest(followed by a Coke chaser, maybe,Sir?),Kate will be back in fighting form(hopefully not literally, going by the tales we've heard)and the rest of us will get on with the answering of some funny questions!Maybe we can rope the illustrious mechanic to the stars(or at least the 'Lines),Ed,into another appearance...?Either way, come on down for a laugh,a drink,a feed,a yap...whatever;we'll see you there!
