  1. Spotted SHY32R at the Nats scutineering.Wandered up and said g'day-top ppl! Oh,and yes-the car is a hard one! Also spotted that lovely pearled-up R33_377kw -too busy hunting down SHY32R to say anything more than a quick g'day:I'll endevour to catch you up soon to have a closer look!
  2. Righto-I got screwed over on getting the Satd'y off work-I'll only be doing the Friday at this stage(unless something drastic changes...).Anyone keen for a lift early-ish(I'm thinking between 9 and 10),PM me and we'll sort it.
  3. Alright:all done!To answer Nik's question-yep,outdoor seating. Final numbers are as follows: *John(JB) *Stu *Kyl Richard(Sinista) + friend Andrew(VeilsideR33)-but running a bit late... Nik(Amaru) Ewan(Aurora) Gus(R31_Silo2) Mark(the drunk) *Fitzy *Michael *Terry(window tinter to the stars) and Brooke *Jo and Michael Stirlo Wayne(Rumble)-welcome on board! + 1 Al(SAU Vic vice prez') + 1 Final numbers: 21 With possible guest cameo's by Leech,GTS_duy and race_snooze... I'll endevour to get there a bit early to make sure things run smooth-official time to "move into staging and watch the lights" is 7 pm.Those of you that plan on giving the bottle(or whatever) a large nudge that night, remember to cash someone up BEFORE memory loss sets in(preferably me-as I'll be the one stuck with working out the bill...).The newbies that don't know me,just look for a black and grey Nismo pitshirt(Damn you,Andrew! Now look at what you've done!I'm already planning what to wear...Then again,is it any suprise that I'm wearing somethin Nissan?!)-righto,everyone:see you there!
  4. DIRTbank- :bahaha: Seriously-22K on furiture?!That's,like...2/3rds of an OS Giken 3L kit(hint hint)
  5. Sprung! I can offer no reasonable excuse for my vices...LOL!
  6. Ah,that's more like it!Final numbers and names will be posted up tonight after 7 p.m.!
  7. Ya gotta admit that it was funny, especially considering the one fella that gets hacked on from ALL angles and everyone pulled that one off in your direction! And pink and denim?Ooooh, fabulous!
  8. Now THAT,ladies and gents,is GOLD!MArk,you've officially raised the humor bar another notch or three! I may well not be able to make it tonight:might have to help a mate with scutineering of his car(it has a Nissan heartbeat, but the General's clothes,if ya know what I mean).Hopefully I'll catch you all afterwards...With any luck,I may run into(figuratively speaking...)SHY32R/Daniel while I'm out there...
  9. Hmmmm...an interesting one, this question is! On one hand is usually attached a mobile phone...err.Start again:on one hand,I'm all for seeing a 'Line beat a V8 to pulp, but on the other hand,I love the noise of a blown Chev' at full noise...I guess,as Auto Salon is all about imports, the 'Nats should be about the 8's.It's a different crowd, fair enough, but you occasionally get someone who wanders into Natex/EPIC,who owns an import that may well love a 57 Chevrolet or a twin tubo'd VY HSV as well. Then again, not often do you see a *insert name of undesireable city/suburb HERE* bogan wander into Auto Salon or the Jamboree looking forward to the experience...ah well,I'm in the same boat as Nik:  And now for an update: *Stu *Kyl Richard(Sinista) + 1 Andrew(Veilside)but running late... Nik(Amaru) Ewan(Aurora) Gus(R31_Silo2) Mark(the drunk) *Fitzy(guest of Nik,Mark and Ewan) *Michael(as per Fitzy) *Terry(window tinter of the stars) and Brooke *Jo and Michael Me and Erica (* = non-SAU'er) Total numbers so far: 17... How 'bout Al?
  10. May come for a quiet squirt on Thursday night:I'll see what the general feeling is...
  11. MMmmmm...I'm in two minds as well.Ppl are starting to appreciate what a 'Line is,but there's still enough idiots there praying to the V8 altar that may just stuff it up for one or all of us SAU'ers.Plus,as Terminal has mentioned in Veilside's post ( http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=60157 ) :the RTA or whatever they are called in Canberra will be out in full swing.I'm not too panicked about my car-almost all of it is legal or legally enginnered-but why give 'em the fuel to start the fire? They may not notice the LJ Torana with the home fitted Chev' 400 small block, but oh-so-subtle cars like Sinista.Veilside R33 and so on may not be so fortunate...
  12. I think you'll find that was Polishstorm(Jeremy).
  13. Righto, the list so far that have confirmed they want a chair for dinner, drinks and ride perving(whatever rides you're into on the night:we wouldn't presume to be judgemental!!) *Stu *Kyl *Kazz *Rod(Hoody) Richard(Sinista) + 1 Andrew(Veilside) Nik(Amaru) Ewan(Aurora) Gus(R31_Silo2) Mark(the drunk) *Fitzy(guest of Nik,Mark and Ewan) *Terry(window tinter of the stars) and Brooke *Jo and Michael Me and Erica (* = non-SAU'er) Total numbers so far:18 Hey Al,if you're driving all the way up to say g'day and cruise 'round, want a spot to have a feed and join us?Sonds like you're keen to:wanna confirm that?Making it 19? As I'll be calling to "up" the number of chairs/tables required,Wednesday 7 p.m. will be the cut off for final numbers, otherwise Da Cellini's will get the s**ts with us changing our minds too close to the night...Let anyone else know:as stated, first in,best dressed/fed/watered!
  14. I've seen just such a conversion in a 300ZX,and it rocked! RB26DETT? Nissan's finest,I'd say! That motor, with such low kilometers on it,will be a GOOD thing! Post some photo's while you're building or when it's done!
  15. Wanna organise a Group Buy?!LOL!!
  16. Late breaking "spotted":New Years' Day-red R33 GTS(T?) on Hindmarsh Drive.Had rims, and if I'm not mistaken,a For Sale sign on the rear window. Piloted by a lady with fella riding shotgun...Gave a wave, got a wave!
  17. All together now: "Group buy"-LOL!
  18. Ah,wise words! Smart decision,A.!
  19. Now you've got me interested....anyone got it?
  20. Gold! Well spotted, and thanks for posting it up!
  21. Ah,Leechy! I know you're just trying to get a reaction outta me...No,I'd pass on a 34 GTR over a top 32 GTR-that's why I own what I own! However, the 34 would be a close second in desireability! To quote an R34 GTR owner that I personaly conversed with as we sat in our respective rides:"I really love my 34,but to me the real Godzilla is yours-the 32 is the original one..."(cross to me feeling very chuffed, deep down!)-I guess it's all about history and respect! So,back to the topic at present:Shy32R's ride:schweeeeet! And if it's even half the hitter I reckon it may be,we should all pay our repects now!And I agree with Gus:Brides?Oh,yeah!
  22. And which model of GTR is still the quickest?Oh,that'd be the 32!!! Hah!
  23. Ah,nicely done,Sir! Too many people spout off ridiculous figures, both high and low: it's refreshing to see some restraint shown! It sounds like you and your dad are more about letting the car speak for itself:nice! Plus,it has that air of mystery: I'm now keen to have a chat with your good selves about your ride(actually,I'm ALWAYS keen to talk Skyline stuff!).And more pic's,please!
  24. Here's a heads-up to ACT SAU'ers chasing an elusive R34 GTR RB26DETT.I have it on very good authority that this engine has less than 10,000 genuine kilometers on it(in RB speak-it's only just broken in...).Those in the know will already recognise the R34 spec' engine as a superior RB series to what I have in my car and any of the R33 GTR's.If you're not up to speed, the 34 RB26DETT had different lift and duration on the factory "bumpsticks"-which is one of the reasons why 34's have more Kw and torque straight out of the box over other GTR engines. You can't retro fit these cams to earlier engines;the head had a totally different casting to make the camshafts fit.Plus the 34 block has the same strenghtening "webbing" that the fabled N1 blocks have:much better strength once you start to lean on these engines. This particular engine is a long motor:no turbos or plenum. Everything else is there,as far as I remember. The other bonus, and a reason why this particular RB is not in the normal "For Sale" section(yet...)is that it's here in Canberra right now! It's a good mate's engine, and he's not asking the world for it(believe me,if I had the funds available, you lot wouldn't be reading this now!).Whilst the engine is easily viewable,I don't need a million wannabe engine tuners wasting his time;if you're SERIOUSLY considering the best of the RB26's,drop me a PM and I'll put you onto him.The offer is there:those wise enough to know what this thing is better get scooting!!
