  1. I'll be there, probably for Friday,DEFINATELY for Sunday. Wheather or not my suspension gets back in time for me to be driving the GTR,I'll be there!
  2. Check the link:could be good for a cruise, yeah? I'm working that Saturday 'till 3,but otherwise will probably go for a look on Sunday at least! http://www.ndsoc.com.au/site/article90.html
  3. Good luck! Don't get your hopes up,though: Hill & Co.(the Mobil distributors locally)have been telling me fo 4 years that there's no "light at the end of the tunnel" re:Synergy. We've got an account with 'em ,and I pester them about one every 6 months or so...
  4. P.S. Trident:good research stuff,BTW!
  5. I've been avoiding posting on this link, but I can't help myself... From all my delving into the dark underside of high-density fuels(and it's a long story I'll not put you through),it came to light that Vortex IS Optimax(or that Optimax IS Vortex;I can't remember-note to self:check notes!LOL).One is rebadged as the other. At my work,we've had extensive problems with most of the high-density fuels causing poor starting, fouling plugs and leaving deposits on upper engine components. Now,one thing to mention is that I deal with motorbikes. So what? Well,it seems that although it's still an internal combustion engine, there seem to be a few factors why bikes have prob's with these fuels moreso than cars;they're built to rev harder, produce more power-to-weight(read:higher demands place on engines),therefore seem to be more likely to get affected by "the little things". As we've not had a bike come in using Ultimate 98 experiencing the same symptons as those affected by Optimax/Vortex(and don't even think about running Woolworths fuel...),we've speculated three possible scenarios:1. Everyone is scared of the price of Ultimate?Ummm,no-it's lineball with everything else. 2.No one is putting Ultimate into their rides? Nup: population wise, law of averages says that there's gotta be BP's finest in bikes or 3. We just don't work on enough bikes to see the possible troubles with Ultimate? Nah,we do s**tloads of bikes every month-averaging about 250 a month! So...I've done some tallying up,and Ultimate 98 gets the nod from the "seat of the pants-o-meter" (ie:working around all these propellants). All this bike talk just means that they're an early warning device on what works on high performance engines and what doesn't. I've had many a discussion with some of Shell's labcoats, and the one thing that really stood out was they said that Optimax(they wouldn't speak for any other brand, naturally)DOES require a change in spark plug temperature range,a change of jetting/fuel mapping and it may still produce difficult starting in colder temperatures regardless... This from a Shell petro-chemist. I asked who was going to pay for all this work to be carried out just to use their pump fuel straight from the bowser with no difficulty,to be met with a grunt of indifference...There's been many an anecdotal recording of problems with most of these fuels in various workshops, cars and bikes, all around Australia. Note that the particular "blend" of Optimax/Vortex type fuel has been taken off the market in other countries in the world(under whatever brand name they were being sold)for various reasons. The worst thing is,as fuels are constantly changing due to batch production irregularities and changes to additives etc.,this can vary re:the quality of fuel you get at the bowser. So,not so much to answer OZR32GTR's question, but to at least stir you into thinking about exactly what it is you're pumping into your pride and joy next time you fuel up.Me? I've done my homework enough to placate me into being happy with Ultimate 98...for now! Rant over!!
  6. G'day! Welcome to the forums! Always good to have another 'Line on board! Hope to catch you up soon! Jayce
  7. Oh,yeah:we got 2nd last night,too!
  8. WTF !!??!!
  9. Spotted an morone R32 GTST w/FMIC and GTR guards front and back,ACT slimline plates, lowered, sitting in front of my shop yesterday arvo. Young business fella was inside getting some mudderboike stuff-I mentioned the forums to be met with a blank stare. So I did the dutiful thing and got him the website address! Hope you made it on here,guy...Coz you've offically been spotted,daddy-o!(Geez,I watch too much "Pimp My Ride"...I felt like Xzibit just then...LOL!)
  10. Oh,COOL! I'll be right by,'K? LOL!
  11. Sweet! Mine is the square plug,so this'll be tops! I'll PM ya later!
  12. Thought I'd ask you ACT SAU'ers first:has anyone got a small, registered and, most importantly, roadworthy box trailer I could possibly borrow from Wednesday night to Thurday night? I've got a trackday at the Creek, and the trailer I usually use is too heavy for the car I'm using for this trip. I'm only carting 200 kg of mudderboike to Eastern Creek and back on Thursday. My car has a 7 pin port/plug thingo for the trailer to plug into. Can anyone help me out?
  13. Now,THIS idea rocks! I'm looking into this as of tomorrow morning!
  14. And watch those man-Platypus'-they've got a nasty poisonous prick...sounds like a coupla idiots I used to hang out with!LOL! Seriously,I feel everything happens for a reason:this is why someone invented plastic explosive and baseball bats! S**t will sort itself out soon:just wish it wasn't you on the receiving end of the problem!
  15. Hey Sigi;just wanted to say a big thanks for the mix-it's a good one! It's had it's share of play time on my CD player for the last week-great effort! Keep up the turntable work!
  16. I'm out, dammit! I wont have (a) the suspension back from the shock tuner or (B) my oil cooler and sump baffle fitted... Better believe I'm keen once things are done, though! Getting ANY time off when you work in retail is a bitch, however. : (
  17. And someone thought the cruise might get cancelled...hah!
  18. As I spent most of my time organising "stuff",I didn't fire up the camera at all:any photo's posted will be gladly viewed! And as for Buck Fuzzby and his hapless gal in the white Commodore ute...well,his numberplate was duly noted! There's a time and place for everything...
  19. At last count,it was 1,700+,and the public liability money didn't come into it,luckily. Some slightly deranged soul put his money up front to cover the insurance side, and business' have been approached to "chip in"-thankfully one has already, that I know of anyway, and some of said ins. money has been recouped by said individulal! A super sensational day! 152 paying cars and a top time had by all,I'd say! HUGE prop's to Glenn from Valvebounce Motorsports for digging in deep where others would've bailed on the idea:top result, and hopefully some good money for the Red Cross and, ultimately, the Tsunami survivors.
  20. I'm in for whatever is on offer, music wise! MP3 format accepted and welcomed...
  21. As a channel suggestion:32(OK,I'm biased...).LOL!!
  22. I was waiting to hear from you,G. ! Good to see you're coming!
  23. On behalf of my compatriots, :thankyou: ...Now,all of you show up on Sund'y morning!
  24. I just knew someone would bring up the "budgie smugglers" eventually on these forums...LOL!
  25. Righto:hopefully not talking out of turn here,but...The Charity Cruise will go ahead,no matter what! People happy to meet at Jerra Pub-we'll be "heading out" at 8.30 to meet everyone else at Regatta Point carpark(near the building, funnily enough at Regatta Point, near the Captian James Cook fountain) at 9 a.m. From there,we'll ALL cruise to the Museum as neatly as poss' to park and catch up with the rest of the car clubs for a 10 a.m. departure to The Cotter....got all that? Simple, huh?! Bring your $10-per-car donation(feel free if you'd like to chip in more!). Those that want to stay at the Cotter for a barby, feel free;those who need to head home, same deal.Or cruise some more.Or head to the Kingo.Or pull ALL their shocks out of their car to be sent away and overhauled...OH,that'd be me,then.
