  1. LOL! I'm doing the formal run, in my own car with me mates
  2. Um... i tried to remove my seats today and where you've circled the clips in blue in the third pic...well mine didn't come out quite right on the left side... the platic base that holds the clip also came out... is that bad? :s
  3. Was in Sydney for a few hours today... spotted a gunmetal grey R32 GT-R today dunno where it was though. Female driver, we gave a wave but don't know if the driver noticed or not... We were in the black R33 Series II. Also pulled over on the Hume highway and had a Commodore go past and beep their horn at us. Anyone here?
  4. Spotted a black R33 Series I that went past me around Braddon/Civic... :s i was in the black R33 Series II but my dad was driving Oh yeah and spotted a white R33 Si with low looking sideskirts on the Hume highway... passed me doing 130-140km/h... tried to keep up but figured it wasn't worth the risk of getting booked.
  5. Should prolly post back that my dad saw Ed at intergra autmotive and he had a look over the car. He sure knows his stuff! My car had an afermarket speedo (NISMO) put on at about 40,000 kilometres which made the reading start at zero again. Anyways, it's showing 28,000. Took the car to Ed, he had one look over it not knowing the deal with the odometre and told us that it definately hadn't done 28,000 but closer to 70,000 which was spot on. A few things were dont to my car, to the tune of $1300... although i can't say i was surprised as the car had been sitting around for over a year unused not including the time it spent in Japan. To cut it all short, haven't had a problem since and the car is running better for it, more responsive then it was before.
  6. Andrew, keep me updated with how you go, i find the back of my car looks a bit too high, would be looking at putting a different rear bar on it eventually when i have the cash. Cheers mate.
  7. as stated earlier, factory kit. My car has one as well ('96 Series II in black... :drooling: ) check my gallery for more pics of it. That link to Prestige also states it's a factory option kit.
  8. Yeah, Alf's car is beautiful, i've seen it both in that magazine article and also going past on the roads. Let me tell you now the pictures don't do that car justice. it's BEAUTIFUL and it seems to have a fair bit of go too. Very, VERY nice. Ah well, spotted today a rather odd Skyline, maroon R33 with series 2 front bar but Series I rear end... i'm guessing it was a custom job as i've never heard of series 2's in that colour. Was going past Bunnings and directly behind it was the black R34 GT-T with the full Altia kit. I was in my mates Magna at the time
  9. Rochey> Those two cars are both 4 doors, and in my experience are generally cheaper than your average 2 door coupe style 'Line. The second one on carpoint is a bit confusing as it's listed as a 5 speed auto? Correct me if i'm wrong but i thought they were only 4 speed autos? Anyways, don't let that discourage you the R32 Skyline is an excellent car in any form
  10. Yeah, i was watching the Exa closely. They reversed back to get a better look at it making me feel uneasy. I was just out of their sight. I'm not saying they were scoping it out or anything, but it would be hard to tell enthusiasts from theives if you get my drift. I've only taken my car out a few times (with the parents of course, ususally them driving) but i'm worried about where it's parked all the time. I always come back to it and check it over to see if anything has happened to it. Today i was in Queenbeyan and had some kids on skate boards eye off the car. i ended up coming back out to check the car again to make sure it was ok. I've heard of too many people getting their cars damaged or having parts stolen from them, and it makes me somewhat paranoid as i'm sure are most Skyline drivers. Its sad that we live in a society where some people can't respect others property but oh well... that's my rant for the day
  11. Anyone on here own or have seen a white Nissan Exa with Nismo stickers down the side? they stopped to check out my car yesterday when it was parked in Woden
  12. I've got my car now, R33 series II, i posted in this thread a while back. I'm not able to drive it till November but i can see the expenses involved in keeping the car running, and i don't mean just petrol. Probably all i can say to people wanting to buy a car like a Skyline is have extra in reserve, i.e budget for the unexpected. My first two weeks of ownership and i had to fork out over $1400 not including insurance and rego. Still, definately worth it
  13. I don't mind Magnas personally, although i think the new ones are bloody ugly. My dad owns a 200and something Verada and it's a very nice car. Smooth, some good features and a fairly powerful engine. For a family car it's not bad, and dare i say it - i prefer it to almost any Commodore or Falcon (although give me an XR6T...**drools**) I think the main point of the ad is to say in extreme conditions, this is how well it handles against the competition, so think about how it will handle something simpler like loose gravel. Obviously their not expecting their target audience to be people who will actually be taking the car off road. That said, i think it's a good ad, and as someone else said, they are just showing the Magna as an alternative to a Ford or Holden.
  14. Biggest concern for me is the roos...there's so many of them about in my area at night, and a lack of proper lighting in some areas doesn't help. That stretch of road just before you turn left to go to Lanyon shops after coming back from tuggers (im shocking with street names ) is terrible, very poor lighting. I've seen a few near misses around that area because of the roos.
  15. Yeah, it's all about being polite and showing them the due respect. I've been out in my car a few times (not me driving tho) and haven't been pulled up yet... mind you we haven't been doing anything dumb but still, no-ones tried to pull over the car to slap defect stickers on it
  16. Yeah, Just Cars only quoted me $200 difference between an NA and Turbo R33...
  17. My first ride in one was with my dad driving on a small backroad in a '96 R33 GTST that we later bought ... my intial impressions were that it had heaps more power then what we were getting out of it and that the handling was sharp and precise. Very impressed. I drove it for the first time today and i must say it's a VERY nice car to drive.
  18. Why not... I'm Graham, 17 i own a black '96 R33 GTS-T. Got pics of it in my gallery and also here http://gossie.actewagl.net.au Current mods are just what the previous owner put on it... from memory; - Kakimoto Exhaust System - Cusco Front + Rear Strut Bar - Pod Fliter - BOV - NISMO Dashboard - Turbotimer That's about it i think. Nothing too serious. Planned mods - New stereo system (putting that in at Christmas) Clarion headdeck + Alpine 6.5" rears - 17" or 18" wheels... that won't happen for a while though - Subwoofer(s) + amp I don't get to drive it till November though, it's my 18th pressie. If you see it on the roads though give a wave, it'll prolly be one of my parents driving with me in the passenger seat
  19. In a way it's fair, but still, tough luck there mate. Like the above poster said, there's no way you can really contest it... it is disappointing but i guess you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
  20. Besides the obvious smaller capacity (CA18) 1.8 vs (sr20) 2.0 i'm not too sure, but i hear the CA18 is more rev happy...
  21. Ahh...im pretty sure there's a sticker on the engine cover that will tell you if it has, although my car has it and has only done 70,000km (genuine). Still, gives you a rough idea, if you want to get a more precise idea take it to a mechanic. i took mine down displaying 28,000 on the clock... this was because the odo had been changed over at 40,000 for a full Nismo item. The mechanic looked at the car not knowing the real kms, took a look at the odometer and said that it looked like it had travelled around 70k...
  22. dont even need to tilt it really, it'll slot out and under surprisingly easily.
  23. Hey mate, i figured the same thing when my battery died and was replaced. Series II with rear strut bar. Says 'Skyline' on it right? The NRMA guy was able to slide the old battery out under the bar and put the new one in without removing the bar at all.
  24. That's no good mate but sadly life is like that. Just as the others said, don't lose hope that things will get better. They have a way of working out even when you don't expect it. Anyways, good luck! and buy that Lotto ticket!
  25. Yeah, why make a more expensive car (assuiming it's a 32 GTS-T) look like a cheaper car (S13). The stock 32 looks way better than that thing.
