  1. my gym is $2 a week! but its user pays so $3.50 every time you go today I was watching a skinny dude standing in front of the mirror lifting his singlet and flexing his abs (in between sets of cable tricep push downs)... only then to attempt pull ups, get like 4 and complain to his mate that his callouses were hurting so he couldn't do any more... I don't even know how he had callouses I hadn't seen him touch a bar or lift anything heavier than his drink bottle
  2. good work mate, if you actually stick to what you posted you'll drop fat pretty fast... notice I said fat and not weight you can't turn fat into muscle or vice versa... the weight training will help him change his body composition which will make him less likely to yo yo after the diet is over... an only cardio + low calorie diet will waste muscle as well as fat which slows your metabolism down (muscle requires lots of energy, even at rest) so when you go off the 'diet' you will simply put the fat straight back on see how you go but I don't think your having enough to eat for breakfast... I switched from a similar oats breakfast (the milk didn't agree with me) to a breaky consisting of 2 eggs on multigrain toast with baked beans and haven't looked back... I only have the toast on gym days otherwise I leave it out, I also might add the turk.ey breast or similar and a banana mid-morning that salad sandwich isn't great either (no white bread!)... you'd be better off making a salad at home with plenty of chicken or turk.ey breast and some avocado etc... if your training 5 days you will need the energy and protein... more than a store bought salad sandwich can provide 2 years ago I was at 92kg similar height to you... now I'm 85kg but body composition has totally changed... I could only do a couple of pullups when I started, now I do them in sets of 8 with 10 or 20kg plates hanging off a belt ps. training 5 days a week is heaps... maybe make your goal a little more achievable and aim for 3-4 days... depends how motivated you are I guess but you should be thinking long term
  3. I was looking at NSXs a few days ago... was dissapoint I had to re-read the for sale ads a couple of times because I thought there was something wrong with my eyes... but there it was on every ad, AUTO... FFS this makes no sense to me! NSX-R would be super nice to own
  4. haha lulz + bad tribal tattoos its that time isn't it... my gym was packed last night, they've started coming out of the woodwork... always seems to be arm night with these guys... queues at the preacher curl and cables... I watched a dude stop his set half way through to answer the phone
  5. lol @ forearm work... try some max effort deadlifts and weighted pull ups and then tell me you need to work your forearms I do 100% agree with this though 'I like to mix it up and do both push and pull movements on the day instead of sticking to one. Also I never do the exact same workouts every week.' overtraining is overstated IMO... look at olympic weightlifters, gymnasts etc... they train everyday, multiple times a day... they just have supreme conditioning that allows them to recover very quickly 48 hours more than enough for recovery... why waste your time doing curls when you could be doing heavy ass rows and growing your whole back and biceps at the same time... if you don't feel like you have lead in your arms after then your not doing it right lol
  6. agreed, that's why I don't like split routines (at least for the first year or two)... training a body part once a week isn't enough IMO... also initially while your still trying to put on size I wouldn't bother with arm, calf or ab stuff... if your doing heavy deadlifting, squatting rowing and pressing you will work those secondary muscles more than enough you should be spending more time on the big lifts, learning the technique (free weights not on the machines) and pushing yourself... then maybe at the end of the workout if your not completely shagged you might do some curls or laterals... but if you've been working hard enough at the big lifts you should find your not even able to lift your arms, let alone do some tricep extensions try doing an extra set of close grip bench press after your finished benching or throw in some weighted dips... when dipping just by changing the angle of your body you can hit your chest more or your triceps... chin ups (palms facing you) are good for your biceps as well, try them weighted for max pain
  7. lol... shhhhh!
  8. you'll do that easy... a change in 5kg is barely noticeable IMO I've been doing more speed work lately and found its made me a lot more explosive, powercleans especially... have noticed my vertical and first step on the basketball court is getting better... I wish I had know this stuff in my late teens... I was too busy doing curls so the chicks would think my arms where hot lol
  9. umm isn't the rollcage supposed to be higher than your head!? I suppose if you roll one of those things your in trouble even if your not tall looks like a blast... +1 on the hooker pics;)
  10. yeah but guys that look like that have to go to the gym when nobody else is there... so people don't see how much they're lifting that's why its sometimes nice to be married, you don't have to care what girls like anymore... my wife likes the lean look and doesn't want me to get any bigger but TBH I don't care what she thinks, she's my wife and HAS to f**k me lol
  11. that's a very Australian trait that I like a lot... Europeans and Yanks are never wrong even when they clearly are... just makes you look like a fool I reckon... if you own up straight away then there's not much more to be said and you sometimes disarm the interviewer who's really out to have a bit of a fight and record some controversy
  12. speak to Chris regarding his wheels
  13. yep... you tell him tho
  14. seriously if your in the market for a 32 or 34 forget it and get this instead! soooo anyone want to buy mine so I can buy this...? good luck with the sale Jack
  15. Webber is 3rd on the list because he botches the start then spends the rest of the race passing them all back again ps. Baron loves Seb
  16. I don't mind cyclists that are just riding to work or whatever but the groups using the road for recreational riding at peak times annoy me yeah not much mechanically that's been left stock.. that's why its at a legal ride height with no exterior mods... try to keep a low profile... I even ditched the personalised plates... just make sure to switch it off quick smart when I get pulled over as its got a pretty serious lope at idle
  17. I worked in with a guy who was squatting yesterday... he started off at 60kg and I thought a bit light but good for a warm up... second set he went and grabbed a couple of 5kg plates (70kg all up)... I didn't have the heart to grab more weight when he was done so I decided to go super low, really explode up and do more reps... he kept only adding 10kg every set so I just went with it... ended up doing a lot more reps than I usually would and I'm actually quite sore today even though I felt like I could've gone much heavier sometimes you get stuck in a routine, good to shock the muscles with a new strategy every now and then
  18. yeah I know but then you get a random parked car or a cyclist... then into the right lane... then you get a right turner so back into the left... grrr... still it beats sitting in Nepean Hwy traffic! thanks dude, the RB song through a 4in zorst... nothing sweeter:)
  19. nice user name M.C Ren!... give Chris at Racepace a call for a quote before you go sending cash OS for a motor... if you get one crated from over there and something goes wrong you won't have a leg to stand on... Racepace do some beautiful 2.8's
  20. was it dirty? probably me... I hope I was behaving myself? I get the shits with the traffic, in winter there's nobody on beach rd but as soon as the sun comes out everyone is on it driving at 50km/h... and I'm always running late lol
  21. Ice Cube then the Pointer Sisters... nice work lol... I thought I was the only freak who changed between a gangster rap CD and gold 104.3 when driving
  22. I don't listen to music at the gym but if I did maybe some Nasenbluten... lol ... man this brings back some memories... dunno if I'd class it as 'music' though edit: agh stoopid youtube, can't get link to embed
  23. that's what I'm talking about, nice work! kinda reminds me of david hockney, he used polaroids but its a similar concept
  24. in a boat you slide your butt forward to reach yeah? while keeping your back pretty well locked then drive with your legs first?... a lot of my mates rowed in high school and taught me how to use the rowing machines... they have a couple at my gym and it has to rank as one of the worst used machines in the whole place, some of the techniques being used are maximum retard great sport for building strength and endurance... has to be one of the most physically demanding sports you can do IMHO
  25. here are some pics of my new wall decal at home... its a pic I took in Amsterdam last year that I've done some pretty heavy photoshopping to get it to read well in B/W sort of suitable for this thread I guess... kinda an interesting topic to see what people do with the images they shoot... I think its a shame images just sit on computers nowadays
