That's not a bad price if it included decent rotors.
I paid $900 for mine shipped, front and rear calipers. + $600 for new RDA slotted rotors, + another 200 for HPX pads front and rear + $180 for braided brake lines...
almost 2k...hmmm
The issues for most guys is the extra cost in getting a piggyback installed and tuned. I guess the good thing about the remap is that its a cheap way to get a semi accurate tune for your mods...though who knows how it will be like when u start adding mods after the remap
Too true.
Spoke with Scott the other night...was telling him how when I 1st got the car I was like "200awkw will be plenty!!"
Have most of my mods done now, but itching to crack 300awkw...
Might even look at upgrading the turbo when the tax return $$$ arrives
Will Gzone offer any sort of discount for a group buy?
Because the pricing mentioned in this thread seems like the standard pricing. If that's the case then I don't think there's any rush to do it or make it group buy-ish...
For myself i will just get them to remove throttle restriction and speed cut...no point getting all the other stuff done as the emanage does all the other stuff. Or am I wrong?
Well, I won't say its a waste of time. But to make the best use of the remap I'd think you really need a tune as well.
Putting in the ECU isn't going to give you an extra 50awkw...I don't think
I think Andy has an Impul ECU with pretty much all the mods done but its at around 180awkw (correct me if I'm wrong Andy). If its all tuned then you'd get a much higher figure...
I got mine from Ebay BNIB for $500 shipped + harness for $100. I could be out by $50 but it wasn't that much more.
Well Richxz made it sound like he values economy above all else. Getting rid of the throttle restriction isn't going to help that...
And speed cut....well unless you're tracking/dragging the car, are you really going to use that?
Well if there was a spare one theoretically we could all take turns sending it in one by one whilst we are driving around with the spare...LOL
But like Cam said...a estimated remap is never going to be as good as a real tune.
Richxz - If you are purely after economy and bit more power I really think you should just get an Emanage installed and tuned. It'll be marginally more expensive then the GZONE but economy wise should be alot better...
Gzone remap + shipping = ~$800
Emanage + harness = $600
Basic tune ~$250
I just want the throttle restriction and speed cut removed...of course this is dependant on whether this UPREV crap can do a remap for us or not.
Maybe up the red line to 7250...but I think the Emanage can do that already.
So GZONE is going to do a custom map for each car? Hope they don't get it mixed up...
hang on...my car is a 2001/2002 plated car. Why does my Chassis number indicate that I have a Dec 2003-Aug2004: 23710-AQ806 ECU?
LOL am I driven a rebirthed car?
ahh nevermind saw the "alternate part" bit...phew!
Ha, I've got the excact same issue cept I'm in an M35. Rear passenger foot well gets drenched when it rains (I think?).
Scott looked over my car - doesn't seem to be any cracks in the chassis or the rubber seals around the doors.
Going to have to do some testing with the seat removed and carpets pulled out and see where its coming from...
I wonder if Pipster's fix would apply to my car....
