  1. r12 and 134a are both bad and lpg is rarely used so unless you use lpg in your air con it unsafe to vent. try breathing it in next time and youll see
  2. thats all to do with you right foot though... im sure a fully built gtr would spin the wheels in the wet if given the chance. if you want to drift it an r32 gtst would be your best bet for a skyline in my opinion, once again what is your power goal you dont need 400rwkw to drift, although it would make it more fun
  3. whats sorta metal is it made outa, missing cross bar as in accross the hoop or to the rear?
  4. thanks for all the replies i have been looking around more on the web and found some guys in the US are using 30thou (0.75mm) restrictors with cars making about 60psi actual engine oil pressure at full revs.. so ill see how mine goes i will measure the volume drained per minute any way once the motor is running but i just want to be sure with it.. thanks for all your help
  5. im using an aftermarket feed line with earls fittings, the oil restrictor is seperate and is placed in the top of the fitting ontop of the turbo. i cant take a pic that is clear enough to show you cos its so small lol (its on a gt30)
  6. just wanting to make sure about this... i have done a few searches on here and net and found the garrett website has stated that garrett bb turbos require between 40 & 45 Psi oil at max revs considering my rb25 has maybe 65 - 75 psi at 6500 ( im guessing as it hasnt even turned on for over 6 months now ) does this mean i should be using a 40 thou or 1mm oil restrictor in the an fitting for the turbo feed? this is what garrett recomends for "common passenger vehicle" im am just curious if this includes RBs as it does not actually indicate how much a 1mm restrictor will reduce the oil pressure
  7. heres my baby
  8. just a few other things i have been doing while waiting for parts... having fun repairing thread in head for exhaust manifold studs removed gearbox a few knights ago for a new clutch.. the old one was not slipping but once removed you could tell it doesnt have much life, i decided to change the clutch while everything is apart instead of replacing it after it fails on the dyno. polished up my headlights this pic is before the final polish as my camera batt died but holy crap they came up way better than i thought cos they were so brown measured up where i want my ps reservoir, air box is there as i have not decided whether i will use it or not so i want to make sure it will still fit... sorta need the turbo bolted on to finish this though... im also in the process of putting carpet in the back, the centre was pretty easy and im up to the wheel arches atm, should be nice when done hopefully a lil different too got news that manifold is nearly ready, wastegate is on its way so is turbo and intercooler piping. dont know when ill get them but hopfully in the next few weeks.
  9. hey everyone, have started this as i want to share my build with everyone and hopefully inspire someone or get some advice along the way, where to start... it a 1996 Gts-t manual, had it bout a year now and have done a little here and there, just the usual stuff THEN.... started getting mad boost spikes ( standard turbo ), searched the forums did a few quick fixes and no success, then one night on the way home from work it failed.. i am a mechanic at a Truck joint in melbourne so i have the luxury of having a S&^T load of tools but unfortunantly nowhere to leave my car, SO i rent a storage garage and perform all my work there, its far from perfect but will have to do as my folks wont have it in the drive way. this is how it was before i decided to go crazy on it ok first of all ill show what i have done in the engine bay thus far, as i have some ok pics of my progress in that area Removal of turbo, lines, Exhaust, manifold.. and replacement of the studs to shortened ones in prep for my 6boost manifold had an absolute blast getting the studs out including two snapped ones and cleaned up the block and surrounding area while that side of the motor is apart... next is the inlet. new plazmaman plenum in raw billet finish... is quite an easy fit, all i had to do was drill out the threads on the far l/h side of the lower runners and fit plenum, there was obviously mods to fuel lines, water and vac hoses and i extended some wiring but overall an easy install,, and how bout Plazmaman product quality!!! SWEET plenum. then i decided to paint cam covers as i was out of stuff to do that night ( still waiting on parts ) came up nice i think... other things sitting around atm are some rays CE28n i bought AGES ago and have not got tyres for yet and some 33GTR wheels i bought of here, new boost gauge and a few other things, turbo manifold and zorst are sorted but wont be ready for a while but im having a ball.. will post up every few days hopefully.
  10. no worries ill give em a call tomorrow, did you use origional flywheel or a lightened one?
  11. my bad i thought manifold , in that case if its under the car then i would also use stainless.
  12. get high tensile nuts, you may as well replace the studs too, when ever i change them i use oem studs as although high tensile is stronger, if they snap, its much easier to get mild steel studs out (drilling and extracting). BTW the oem ones are ok, they just weaken over the years from heat and elements etc.
  13. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/R33-GTST-5-Speed-Manual-Conversion-Kit-/220741850695?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item33653d5647 is more fun, and thats a pretty good price. check out ebay or SCA or autobarn might have some, never looked...
  14. hey where do you get the TRIPLE HDB, i have talked to atap ( clutch supplier for my work ) and then exedy all they have is "NSK 7056HDB" which is rated to 330rwkw and is bout $600 without trade discount. is that the one your talking bout. the description is on their website and. i am just interested as i am going to buy one but says nothing bout HHHDBC Size, Spline OD & No. of Teeth 240 x 25.5 x 24 Flywheel Profile Flat Additional parts - not included in kit Alignment Tool DCT-01 Spigot Bearing PB-22 The Heavy Duty Button (HDB suffix) clutch kits are manufactured to meet the demands of various forms of amateur drift, circuit, rally and drag racing and are assembled from 100% new component parts. All HDB kits are supplied with high clamp load clutch cover assemblies and ceramic button clutch discs with sprung dampers.
  15. what do you mean that part has cracked off completely, it'll hold but you will have problems with it later on especially if you decide to modify and get defected. if its just the brackets that bolt up on each side of the motor to gearbox get new ones. fix it
  16. do you want to change it cos your standard one is stuffed or cos you want to... i have a billet one in my ute cos i hate dual mass flywheels, revs quicker and dies quicker but i honestly cant say there is any gain in anything, dual mass is like over 15kg and my billet one is 9. there are plenty better things to get other than a lightened flywheel unless you have done everything else and are shaving seconds off time...thats my opinion
  17. its a good topic it shows that there is heaps of people who can help on here and they do try to help, and some ppl just need to listen....
  18. from what you said you mean the crown wheel and pinion gear are stuffed right?, if so just get another gear set and fit it together, be sure if you to it yourself to get correct pinion heaight and backlash.
  19. i would say for an r33 gts-t 17X9 +30 all round or +30 front and +20 rear if that size can be bought but thats my opinion alot of it is what you want, i have no clearance issues with 17X9 +30. heres some pics before i lowered the car they are +30 all round with 235 tyres +30 on a 9.5 inch wheel will stick out a half inch further and +12 on a 9 inch wheel will be 18mm further out than the wheels in the pics
  20. awesome!!! thanks dude, gave a a clean and came up great
  21. you can get to the rod with the window down on some cars mind you its a bitch, or you can take the outside door latch off and pull the rod, should open that way.... hopefully
  22. i agree with everything you said mate, and if only the ones who were making the laws would take notice. its only gonna get worse too
