  1. Only thing that gets reset is the learned fuel settings. And the dtc codes. I would be asking serious questions why ecu is in Texas. I have been down the new map path twice with uprev, both completed successfully without the ecu leaving the car. Was my car, pnm35 and a adm pathfinder. My bet is that they tried to flash a file onto the car from a different ecu and bricked it. Now they are trying to recover it. Hope your not paying for it.
  2. I'm in - I have to sort a Licence - I'll do that at the CAMS come and Try day on the 19th Jan. Then I have to see if I buy a car in the new year, and submit all the details. Thats why I haven't entered yet. Should I do the $50 deposit thingo?
  3. Thanks Rudi, And to you to and your family. Extending my well wishes, and remember to drive safe if your travelling over the festive season. Remember to lock up the place and secure valuables - Crims love the holidays.
  4. Bnr34 in a midnight purple( #?) with gold wheels, maybe gt-c? Lady game drive yesterday at about 1345hrs.
  5. Heaps of time to sort it out!
  6. Got home to see the wife vacuuming the dog hair out. Training completed.
  7. Some form of immobiliser / alarm thingo.
  8. ^^^ Thanks mate.
  9. I think the more mature buyers would be more critical of Lag if they are trying to compete with MB / BMW. The modern turbo cars lean more towards smaller turbos with high response. This might be related, but its certainly a long way short... http://www.caradvice.com.au/145884/mercedes-benz-to-launch-new-twin-turbo-v6/
  10. Hi Guys, The Mrs has decided that we're getting tickets for Christmas and coming down in March for the GP. After some tips regarding seating over the 3 or 4 days. I know there are lots of regulars here so advice would be appriciated.
  11. Just sounds like a lifter clogged up a bit. First off, take your oil filler cap off, and have a look with a torch down there. Tell us what you see? Silver, tarnished bronze/ gold colour, or black and full of shit? If its really bad, the last thing you want to do is dislodge all that and send it towards your new turbo.
  12. Find it hard to believe. The president might have to re-think that when he talks to the engineers! Would have quite a bit of Lag I would think, if its not supercharged. The Audi 3000cc S/C V6 only puts out 245kw. Make more sense to TT the V8 to make a M5 rival. Not sure any V6 would be really considered a M5 rival. Will look on with interest.
  13. Those 6 middle plenum bolts you mentioned. Can't believe Nissan tapped them right through. Thought I was going mad trying to put the bloody thing on. Wish someone would give me some high flow cats....
  14. doesn't look very factory to me, but if joining A/C could be an air ion purifier or something to that effect.
  15. I'll add a bit of interesting info to this. V35/Z33/PM35 and most of the other modern Nissan ECUs can hold up to 5 different ECU Maps. The snow function is just one of these maps, so what you are doing is in effect switching the ECU from one map to another. In UPREV, you can see what the details are for these individual maps. Example - I can see in the electronic throttle table, different values for the snow v normal mapping. Now using the cruise control buttons it is possible to switch though these maps if you have set them up with Uprev. Failing having Cruise, you may in fact be able to set up the snow map as a valet mode, or track tune, or higher rev limit etc. I haven't tried it out, but should work.
  16. And that's just the little brother! Imagine what this 3.0 beast will be doing! Op, vids of dyno and track work please when you get round to it

  18. Will, VQ loves limiter. Oil pump isn't made of cardboard, and it has 2 heads to drain oil. Winnah.
  19. well the plenum is in, after some help from the guys. First impression is heaps of induction noise. A little bit of resonance at 2600-2700rpm. Feels like some decent gains in the top end of the range, and feels like it does rev a bit freer. Will be going for a tune early in the year to see if we can't squeeze some more out of it even at this light bolt on stage.
  20. Well, after cracking the shits, and swearing I'll never do anything but just service the car, I've gone and bought stuff! Plenum I got second hand, pads I got are QFM HPX for the front, and something else for the rear cause it was all that was in stock. Brakes are in preparation for the "CAMS come and try" day happening early next year. Apparently the HPX are rated 150 degrees higher than what I have on the front at the moment. Hopefully Jez will be able to fit me in for a NA tune early next year, to give me a few more horses to play with.
  21. recipe thread you slarts. you can use it. Leave the blokes thread alone.
  22. He's talking about the C34 RS260. The earlier model Stagea. Made by Autech. There is no mechanical differences in the M35 models made by Autech (other than maybe springs...) caveat being the 350S which we can't get...
  23. well your not going to hit the limiter - and thats safer than bashing it all the time! I think Scotts up around 7600 with his?
