In the times I've played, it's usually bout 2k. Not bad for a $75 buy-in. Mahagony Room has a Sunday tourney starting soon with a 1k buy-in and a guarenteed 10k 1st prize. Limited to 20 players. Wish I had a few k lying around to have a go

Depends on when you run out of playing chips. 1st time I lasted 30 mins. 2nd time I was there till bout 11:30 and last week I got bailed out round 9ish. If you make it to the end, you'll be there till bout 12:30 I think.

Every Thurs night. Starts at 7:20. Limited spots so I usually get there bout 6 to buy my spot. Seats are usually sold out by bout 6:30 I think.

Meh, came top 50 somewhere. Got bailed out when the blinds got too big. I hadn't won enough to see the blinds through so I put an all in on a K,6 offsuit and got done. Made silly mistakes at the start and lost a fair bit then but built it back slowly. It was still lots of fun though. Still recommend it to anyone who likes to play and wants to gain experience playing No Limit Hold Em. Maybe 1 day, you too can win $10M in Vegas

For anyone who is interested, I'm gonna be playing in the No Limit tourney at Crown 2nite. If you're interested in playing, there's usually bout 220 people there. Buy-in is $75 and you get $1500 in play chips. It pays 1-20 places and if you finish 20th, you'll at least get yr money back. It's a hella lotta fun and I recommend it to anyone interested in playing against people. Play begins at 7:20 I think but if you wanna get a spot to play, I suggest you don't get there any later than 6:30.

I was going to play as the dealer for this session just to make sure it all goes well. I'll make sure people keep their chips in check

I will hold a tutorial session before the tourney begins on another day to give people some idea of how the game runs and rules. I will not be teaching strategy though as it's up to you on how you want to play your hand.

Nah, just missed out this time. It paid down to 20th which was like $100. For a $75 buy-in, it's pretty good. 1st place paid 2k last night.

Lest we forget...

Played in my second No Limit Texas Holdem tourney last night at Clown. Man it was amusing. Ended up finishin 23rd in a field of 217. Not bad a for a beginner if I say so myself. Sitting down playing for 3 hours with a 10 minute break was pretty stressful though.

eBay baby!!! Found a few sites where 500 chips was gonna set me back bout $350 but eBay has heaps. Just took a punt with these ones and I'm pretty happy. Comes in an aluminium case with 2 decks of cards, a dealer button and 5 dice. All in all, it was $114 delivered to my office This is the 5th set I bid on. All the others went over my budget.
