  1. Fancy a luxury car? Jag: http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/...&make_id=36 Lexus ES300: http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/...&make_id=20 Otherwise maybe a Subaru Liberty / Forester may tickly your fancy.
  2. I love how the engine has been set back in the bay. I am guessing that there is some benefit in having a set back that far (other than better handling of course)?
  3. Exactly. When I had my Silvia CA18de with an open diff, I was actually scared to drive in the wet. At the slightest hint of traction loss (which was quite possible with bad tires on), it would snap so hard that you bearly had time to apply opposite lock and straighten out the car before things went very bad. LSDs should be mandatory IMO.
  4. Well you can always stretch some 235 over 9.5". This should have decent response, and it gives it more of a Jap look (if you are into that sort of thing). +38 is a pretty high offset considering that stock is +40. I don't know how much suspension clearance Skylines have, but if it's tight, you would have to go for +25.
  5. Mount Coolum is on the Sunshine Coast. Anyway if you still havn't found it, it is where Milton Road and Western Freeway meet.
  6. It's not that they can't handle a bit of heat, because they can. What is bad, is direct sunlight. Your best bet now is to make sure that it is on maximum brightness (through one of the options in ETC), and hope that you are able to live with it.
  7. When you are talking track, width is not applicable. Because offset is measured from the centre of the wheel, where track also happens to be measured from, then the offset directly relates to the track. So if you want it even with the rear wheels, then you will need a +9.
  8. Twisting the hose off seems to be a good trick, that usually works.

    Ppq!

Unless they're a sort after combination, in which case it's a $400 investment.

  11. Get a indenpendant mechanic to confirm whether the clutch was faulty (or it was improperly installed). If it turns out faulty, then write a letter to the clutch maker with receipts etc, saying that their product was faulty and you would like a replacement or refund. If it was faulty installation, then there may not be anything you can do about it (particularly as the workshop has closed). You could try dragging it through the courts, but it is probably more hassle than it is worth because you would only get the original paid price back.
  12. I used to have severe problems in my 180sx, even after the alloy pinapples. I also had brand new coilovers too, so that wasn't the problem. At that stage I was running Bridgestone Potenza GIIIs in 215/ 60/15 on stock 6" rims. The grip was awesome, but it would tramp pretty bad. Since replacing the wheels with R32 wheels and tyres Dunlop 205/55/16, the tramp is a lot improved now.
  13. Extractors - Headers - Exhaust manifold. They are all pretty much the same thing and that is to take gases out of the cylinder. Whether it connects to a turbo or a exhaust is not that important. As for Twin Turbo setup, definately possible but question would be why would you bother going to the effort and expense of doing that, when a normal twin turbo or single turbo setup would suffice.
  14. Interesting topic. On a related note, it can also vary when in the same gear: For example, when I first had my tune, it was showing a rich mixture as it comes onto boost (about 11.3) before settling to almost bang on 12. Took it elsewhere with the same tune, and this one showed the rich patch going to 11 before settling on about 11.7. Air intake temps were showing the same, the runs were both done in third, so the consistancy was there, just showing different results.
  15. What tyre size are you running on the front end?
  16. Re. The hand controller going to startup screen or blank. This can be caused by a loose connection, often between the hand controller and PFC. If this connection is loose, it won't cause above problems, however it could mean that another connection is slightly loose.
  17. Another one for Accurate Suspension. Timms Ct, Woodridge.
  18. I'd more likely think that it was related to something else, unless you can clearly see that it is dropping boost on the gauge. Could be any number of other issues such as fuel supply.
  19. If you have a modified / aftermarket front bar, it may not be practical to leave it in the middle. Plus the intercooler gets more air if the plate is offset. But as long as it can be viewed from the said angle / distance, then you should not get a fine anyway.
  20. ^^^ My goodness those AFRs don't look very good. Glad you didn't leave it that way.
  21. What the hell do they class as a noisy instrument? Exhaust brake on trucks? air bag suspension on buses? Louder than stock exhaust?
  22. Was the road wet at the time? Sounds like there may have been some oil on the road, which tends to make things a little hairy when it first rains in a while. ps. If you are on southside, go and see Accurate Suspensions at Timms Ct, Woodridge. I went there recently and was more than happy with the pricing.
  23. What did you have in mind? There is the Mt Cotton Hillclimb on Sunday if you are interested: http://www.mgccq.org.au/calendar.htm

  25. Most operators put the intake temp sensor on the air filter. While I can understand where the fellow is coming from, but the pipe temperature that he is measuring can differ from the real intake temp. If everyone else is puting theirs on the air filter, then you have to ask who is the most correct?
